QUOTE(mangoman @ Jun 30 2013, 06:58 PM) As far as I know, they are providing "habitat" to Carigali. I visit their website, but the position is in power generation division, 'habitat' in other division, do you think this job offshore or onshore? do you know anything about the job? however I'll try my luck in the interview first. thanks

Please advise They have been saying this ever since the oil shock of 1973 which was 40 years ago ..... some people who were worried then, are now retired and the use of fossil fuel is more prevalent than before. I am not saying that it is good for the planet but looking at it pragmatically, there is currently no energy source that are so ingrained, with all the easy transportation and infrastructure in place like the fossil fuel ..... you will retire in the future and they will still be thinking about how to replace fossil fuel.

QUOTE(E Crew @ Jul 1 2013, 08:12 AM) Well then I will assume that as a positive feedback from you..thanks so much. Cause I am doing diploma in Mechanical Engineering now and having internship and gotta choose my path later on for degree. If I were to go for O&G which field would you suggest me. Petroleum engineer, petroleum geoscience, or just mechanical engineering ? All the degrees you mentioned are needed in the industry though for PE and PG, the demand is much higher as not a lot of people are taking this degrees so the competition to get a job is much less as compared to mechanical engineering.

Please advise OnG is political power...they will sustain it to remain in power & control, unless they use something else to replace it and they must have control on the replacement...hehe (^__^)

Since it's so specific to only oil and gas industry and sounds like company's assets...just wondering are they more highly paid comparing to mechanical engineer? By the way are you working in o&g industry too?
