If Cavani do come, I think either Lukaku or Torres will be loaned or sold.
With the World Cup coming, Lukaku will want to oust Benteke and be in the starting 11 for Belgium, and the way to do that is to play regularly and gain some form.

let's not forget Ba. We have 4 strikers now if Cavani is signed. Torres, Ba and Lukaku. If Cavani is signed, 1 will have to go.

Tabloid:

Argentine super agent Jose Alberti says Napoli striker Edinson Cavani IS moving to Chelsea.
It broke on Monday night in Naples that Chelsea had seen a €58 million offer for the Uruguay striker accepted by Napoli.

And Alberti told Radio Crc: "With the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Chelsea cannot afford to finish third or fourth. The Blues wanted (Radamel) Falcao, who escaped, but do not forget that Roman Abramovich is one of the richest and it will not be a problem to spend €63 million.

"Cavani will go to Chelsea, he needs to win a championship. (Napoli president Aurelio) De Laurentiis says he has not received the offer from Chelsea, but I do not believe that. Abramovich certainly will not ask for a discount of €3 million also because the rich do not do these things.

"Cavani is a Chelsea player, there is little to do, and soon there will be the official statement."

Guys, rmb Bony? We used to be rumoured to be interested in him. Dutch league striker, a striker in Drogba's mould.

Swansea City are hopeful they will complete the signing of Wilfried Bony from Vitesse Arnhem, despite the Dutch club's denial that a deal has been agreed for the Ivory Coast striker and strong interest from a number of other Premier League sides, including Chelsea.

Bony, who scored 31 goals in 30 appearances for Vitesse in the Eredivisie last season, has spoken of his excitement at the prospect of joining Swansea in a £10.2m deal, which would smash the Welsh club's transfer record, previously set at £5.55m, when they signed Pablo Hernández last summer. Swansea, however, are mindful that other targets have slipped through their fingers in the past few weeks and are refusing to take anything for granted.

Chelsea Football Club and Sevilla Fútbol Club have reached an agreement for the season-long loan of Marko Marin, subject to the completion of legal documentation and a medical.

Looks like Marin is indeed being loaned out. Which also mean KDB will take up his role. thumbup.gif

It's good for Marin to be loaned out. Even that, there's still a surplus with Mata, Hazard, Schurrle and Moses. So hopefully De Bruyne will be able to break into the team.

So now our current attacking trio will be
LMF : Hazard, Moses as back up
AMF : Mata, Oscar as back up
RMF : Shurrle, De Bruyne as back up

The attacking trio is taking shape. Right now is either to sign a consistent striker or get Torres to carry on his form from Confed Cup.

moses plays on the right if im not mistaken..

i dont know, i was hoping we could find an extraordinarily good dm instead of these attacking players that we have..

like when mourinho came he bought ferreira and carvalho first before anyone else.. sometimes what worrying me is our defence.. especially in luiz.. he's good but not consistent and sometimes looked like he lack determination.

Ya. Our DM is worrying me.
Current DM list,
Lamps - the only consistent performer
Mikel - might be leaving and too defensive minded
Essien - concern if he can maintain his fitness throughout the season
Romeu - injury prone
Ramires - heavy touches
McEahren - should be loaned out again
Luiz - might be converted to DM by Mou?
If Luiz is to play in DM next season, a CB should be our priority now. Mangala seems to be good. But the problem is when Chelsea is interested in a player, the price go sky high. Even Ruddy, the Norwich keeper. 10 Million for a non regular international goalkeeper? blink.gif

Could probably Hilario to be offer a contract as backup keeper? Interesting.

I think Mata's case was Arsenal offered a small amount and Valencia accepted. Then we last minute just come in and add a few million more than Arsenal to the deal. So Valencia just accept ours.

brazil is worthy winner. nobody should doubt that. really put spain on their back foot nearly the entire game. neymar and fred carving pique and ramos apart at will. hulk raping jordi alba apart and paulinho mastering the midfield like nobody's business.

oh by the way, casillas just proved why mourinho put him on the bench last season and opted for diego lopez. at least 2 of the 3 goals is saveable.

agree on the need to offload 1 striker if we plan to add another one. if we buy cavani, then better sell off torres while he still have value (face value and last season 20+ goals). if we dont want to sell him, we can only buy cavani if lukaku agrees to stay on loan at west brom. he is doing great there.

too much competition is not good. players will become delusional.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clark is chasing Chelsea striker Demba Ba, according to the Sunday Times.

Clark sees Ba as the ideal replacement for fellow Blues' striker Romelu Lukaku, who spent the year with West Brom last season.

Clark sees the Senegalese striker as the man to lead the Baggies front-line next season, after it became clear that Lukaku is part of Jose Mourinho's plans for next season.

If Chelsea do sign 1 more striker, it will be hard for Ba. As we noe, Mou likes some one will strong body strength up top, some one like Lukaku. And with Torres' form, it will be hard for Ba to break into 1st team action.

According to the Independent, the Stamford Bridge club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, sanctioned a bid worth €50million and Torres, but the Serie A side are not interested.

The report claims new manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add to his tacking options at Chelsea and Cavani is top of his wanted list.

However, Mourinho knows he must make space in the Blues’ wage bill if he is to sign the 26-year-old and Torres could be the high earner to make way.

It goes on to say Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is determined to stand firm on his assertion that anybody can sign Cavani if they meet his €63million release clause and he will accept no less.

sos > http://www.givemesport.com/356538-chelsea-...-edinson-cavani

I think Napoli is holding for full cash deal as that will fund Benitez for adding quality players of his choice to the Napoli squad. Or maybe Cavani has his sight fully set on Madrid.

we got enuff youth in attacking department already, is either sign the best to replace the existing eleven or buy none and develop the youth.
*
Shaarawy is quality..not about youth signing even if he fall in the same category as that..

QUOTE(Sifha238 @ Jul 3 2013, 06:53 AM)
Only sign 1 striker enough edy for Chelsea, Torres only performed when with Spain, Ba only good enough for league match, need to get rid of Torres and get Cavani, Ba as backup striker in order to challenge the likes of Barca, Real and Bayern
*
its urban legend that torres only perform in red colour..last season he scored the second highest goal in his career..need to improve EPL goal tally then we will be alright..3 striker is sufficient..1 main..1 striker/winger..and 1 young striker..

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Jul 3 2013, 09:53 AM)
looks like this cavani saga is going to roll on for quite some time. poor lewandowski will be sick of hearing his name and 'second choice' being bandied about within the same line this coming weeks.  laugh.gif

a bit surprised we didn't try to hijack spurs' paulinho deal though..hmm
*
we will sign someone..dont worry about it..and yes...paulinho and ganso at the heart of spurs..harder for teams to penetrate spurs midfielder now..

Ba will definitely not be sold, since he was just bought last season. Lukaku is in Mou's plan. That leaves Torres.
Chelsea fans and Roman will be happy with his performance last season. But it is totally up to Mou now if he chooses to stick with Torres or splash the cash and buy a proven 20-goal consistent striker.

I'm kinda concern on our back four to be honest. 4 centerback. Luiz might be pushed to defensive midfield. Iva need to play the odd game in right back position since we only have Azpi 1 pure right back. That leaves only Cahill and Terry as our pure centerback.

anything can happen..we might offload ba..either on loan or transfer..

mou looking for a striker..to replace who? we not sure..the striker quality and experience will determine either torres or ba will go..

luiz is a great CB. I dont think we will push in upfront..even if he capable to do it..you forgot Iva..

For Ba's case, I think mostly will be loaned out to a EPL club. Won't sell I think.

Ya we have Iva, if Azpi gets injured (touch wood), Iva will definitely move over to right back.

Really eager to see which striker will come to Stamford Bridge. Shawaary is a good player, I don't know why AC Milan signed Balotelli, they are both similar players, Shawaary is much more promising in my opinion. thumbup.gif

No single reason why Chelsea should loan Ba. He's a proven striker in premier league. We buy him cheap, his salary not that high either. I think he really suitable as backup striker. For big occasion, Chelsea need someone who had big presence to lead the line ala Drogba.

I would love to see El Sharawwy to come.. or to certain extent Giovinco.. if i'm allowed to dream biggrin.gif

To be honest, I hope Mou revert back to his 433 formation that he brought to Chelsea when he was in charge last time. Robben and Duff was superb. I can imagine Hazard and Schurrle at the flanks. thumbup.gif

Ba, Torres and Lukaku, If a big name striker is signed, someone has to go. Interested to see who wil be the 1 to be sacrificed.

Seriously, this is something I always dreamed of. 4-3-3 reincarnation!! We've always been famous for this. But the question now is, do we have players who can replicate this? I knew there are..but meh.

The difference was, back then we have Makelele/ Essien/ Ballack in the middle of three midfield. In current team, Mikel not consistent and slow..Ramires lack of technique..Romeu injury prone and less experience.

I know..hehehe rclxms.gif

I'm with the club on this youth and development..because we produced batch after batch of potential young players from Cobham academy..I understand the the team must win in order to develop this young players without any unnecessary burden on their shoulder..

4-3-3? I'm okay with this..we will be a solid unit under 4-3-3..but with rumors that Mikel leaving..I doubt that we will play 4-3-3..because Mikel is the main anchor man..we gone throught 2 years of transition period to change our style of play..I believe that we will stay with 4-2-3-1..with 4-3-3 as our backup plan.. nod.gif

But we all know how Mou can go to plan B,C,D,E,F whenever necessary..we kept making opponents' managers guessing and thinking.

So, it'll be nice to see variables in formation >.<

So who will be the next Mikel?(gotta put his name because he's our current)

Don't worry, everyone.

The Cavani transfer saga will be resolved... on the 31st of August at 12am.

Expensive signings are never easy. They have to take it to the last possible minute and torture us all.

Worst possible scenario is if Cavani stays at Napoli. And then the torture will begin again in January 2014. And June 2014. Forever.

yes he is quite tua already.
but he is the big strong type of striker.
maybe good for few years.
by that time maybe lukaku can be the main man.

but i still hope torres can really prove himself this season, if we dont sell him.

Mata will play as the Attacking midfield. If 4-3-3, the midfield trio will be Mata, Lamps and Essien. Mikel is too slow, Romeu injury prone. Ramires will be a good sub. Provide stamina and lung bursting run when the opposition starts to feel tired. thumbup.gif
In addition, Nathan Ake will have more playing time is Mikel is really sold. Personally, I feel is time to let Mikel go, and let Ake play more 1st team game with Chelsea

I'm not sure whether it is just me or Oscar really outshone Mata in the Confed Cup Final. No fancy skills, but he really dictating the attacking for Brazil while Gustavo and Paulinho pushing from midfield. All this time in Chelsea, he spent most of them at the right flank so i guess we haven't seen the best of him yet in blue shirt

He can play more as a CM instead of AM.

Just like our old 433. Makelele pure DM, Essien can attack and defend CM, Lamp full out attack AM. In this case, Essien pure DM, Lamp attack and defend as CM, Mata full out attack AM. icon_idea.gif

yap Oscar is the playmaker for Brazil..and this is the new Brazil..while Mata must compete with 4-5 quality spaniard to be in the 1st 11..

Lamps will be the person who control the midfielder..just like Lampard-Ballack combo..it will be Lampard-Mata..but actually Oscar will perform better in this position...

If im not mistaken ginkel is a CM box to box combative midfielder type of player. U can see vids he like to use his physical body battling with opponent player. But still got talent going fwd.

Dutch Football Talent Scout

Full name: Marco van Ginkel
Date of Birth: 1-12-1991
Club: Vitesse Arnhem
Position: Midfielder
Height: 1.86m
- See more at: http://www.dutchfootball-league.com/marco-...h.st7aJZrX.dpuf

A new era for Dutch Football club:Vitesse would start, the club had been fighting an on-going financial battle, and was on the verge of bankruptcy. A Georgian angel descended from the skies, and brought along a big bag of money. Merab Jordania took over Vitesse and covered it’s debt with his own money.
It was the first Dutch club ever that fell into the hands of a foreign owner. The public opinions were quite skeptical and cries started concerning the destruction of Dutch football and Vitesse turning into a billionaire’s toy. Due to the link of Jordania and Abramovich, many convicted Vitesse as a Chelsea’s satellite club in favour of the club from London. Jordania disapproved the argument by stating: “Roman is just a friend, he supports my decision, but purely as a fan.”
Jordania had big plans with Vitesse, the Georgian owner underlined this with a very bald statement:
“ Within three years, I will turn Vitesse into the Dutch league champions. Give me a couple of days, I will spend money on young talented players, in order to fulfill my promise.”
And money was spent all right; many players were left on the side to make way for all the talented young players Jordania had promised. But there was one local pesky boy, who refused to be dumped like old trash; the boy went by the name of Marco van Ginkel.
Thus surviving the exodus, and the star of van Ginkel would soon rise to great heights. The youngster made his debut on 14th of April 2010, a few months later he could finally celebrate his first league goal for Vitesse. The midfielder scored against Ajax in the Arena.
The following seasons, he would establish himself in the first eleven, so far van Ginkel has made a total of 87 league appearances and scored 17 goals.
- See more at: http://www.dutchfootball-league.com/marco-...h.st7aJZrX.dpuf

Marco van Ginkel is a versatile midfielder capable of taking on both defensive and offensive roles on the midfield. He combines his hard-working mentality well with great basic technique. Quite often positioned as a defensive midfielder, he likes to surge forward and assist his attacking partners. He does this quite well, with already 17 goals in 87 appearances; van Ginkel has displayed an impressive feat for a midfielder.
van Ginkel is a prime example of a modern midfielder; pace, strength, and stamina. When bursting through the midfield, he has spatial awareness, great passing, precise and hard shot and a strong header to cause havoc to the enemy defensive line.
The star of van Ginkel is obviously outshined by his teammate Wilfried Bony, but the youngster is slowly taking the forefront. His most recent game, he provided 2 assists on Bony, and scored one ensuring a glamorous victory over ADO-Den Haag.
Even though still only 19 years old, the midfielder made his international debut on November 9 2012 against Germany. Van Ginkel is a rising Dutch super star and Vitesse have a real gem in their squad.

The following seasons, he would establish himself in the first eleven, so far van Ginkel has made a total of 87 league appearances and scored 17 goals.

Both schurrle and de bruyne are having a great season in bundesliga. Both of then need to fight that 1 slot. ( mata hazard auto alrd and i can see mata will be more on central role this time)

SUAREZ ? HELL NO !! no matter how good is he as a player, he is not worth the trouble, he will only put the club and the team in shame. All his previous antic on the field show he is unprofessional and selfish, putting his personal glory/satisfaction/ego above the team. He said the reason he wanted to move is because of the english press, but if he move to another english club, then u know what kind of bullshit is he talking about.

Check this out guys.

Canales, who currently plays for Valencia, told Superdeporte: "I have spoken to Oriol and I say sincerely that he is very taken by the option of Valencia. The squad is perfect for a player to progress."

The news follows Chelsea's signings of Dutch sensation Marco van Ginkel and reported interest in Roma's Daniele De Rossi, both of whom play in midfield.

This would make it increasingly difficult for Romeu to break into the first team, therefore it is believed that Chelsea are willing to let him leave on loan.

It is believed that Mourinho sees Romeu as dispensable, hence allowing him to leave on loan and pursuing other targets.

yapp that was me..toulalan is a quality player..that cheaper than most of our target..it will be insane to ignore him..

all the best to him at monaco..

with Romeu might be off to Valencia on loan and Mikel still 50/50..we will recruit one more..DM..or CB..De Rossi or Illori/Zouma

the latest rumors that Delac will be on loan again..paving a strong possibilities that we might push for Ruddy as 2nd GK..with Blackman as our 3rd..

Seem like cavini going to psg
Imo, we do not need to buy forward.
Ba, lukaku and torres our fw look solid.
Schurrle able to plat well in that areas too.
Hope to see a dm or cb signing.
Btw we dun seem to have enough home grown players to fill the quota?

Van Ginkel is an AMF or CMF?

I believe he'd have to compete with the likes of Mata, Ramires, Lampard, Oscar and to certain extent Piazon, McEachran & KDB. If he can play at the flanks, then there is Hazard, Mosses, Shurrle. Highly competitive for a young lad

Ginkel is more physical type of player.
Good defensive and offensive skill, good passing range.
Box to box type midfield.

For UCL is 8 homegrown with 4 are club grown, we only have TERRY for our senior level club grown, to my surprise BERTRAND is just homegrown not club grown due to many loan move, LUKAKU can be our club grown because we sign him very young but if he leave for loan again then maybe not.

We are still ok at the moment as 22 senior will do just fine and we can fill the 3 spot with youth, but considering TERRY, LAMPARD and COLE age, we will soon have to buy someone or hope that those player on loan like JOSH will be able to break thru.

TOPIC TODAY : The Mourinho - Emenalo Partnership

QUOTE

I still remember that when the decision was being made on who the next Chelsea manager would be many Chelsea fans concluded that Mourinho wouldn`t be the right choice.

Some Barcelona fans in disguise (I`m not naming names) started a propaganda war against our Special One.

• Mourinho will spend loads and loads of money they said.

• Mourinho doesn`t like youth players they said.

• Mourinho won`t like our creative players because he likes 'kick and run' football they said.

Obviously this infuriated me. For someone who has followed his career for over a decade this was felony.

The English media smarty pants also decided that Emenalo and Mourinho would not co-exist because of the power struggle that happened between Real Madrid`s technical director Valdano and Mourinho which ultimately culminated in the sacking of Valdano. But what they fail to realize that unlike Valdano, who was the architect behind spending £150million+ on three players and not doing squat for the youth team, Michael Emenalo is actually good at his job.

Mourinho appreciates quality work and Emenalo`s record in the last couple of years speaks for itself. Good technical directors are hard to find these days and Jose knows this. Take Damien Comoli's disastrous stint with Liverpool for example. Spending insane money on Carroll, Downing and Henderson is hardly genius. When Fenway Sports Group gave Liverpool a £100 million kitty to get them back on track, it was an excellent opportunity for Liverpool to get 5-6 quality players and come straight back into the top 4. But now the owners are still smarting from the blows of failure and Rodgers is playing with peanuts to lure players.

I don`t know how far Emenalo`s offer to resign was true because I basically distrust the English media, they might not be outright liars like their Spanish counterparts but they not reliable at all. But it was also reported that Mourinho dismissed the offer of resignation. Now whether this is true or not one thing has proved to be certain, Mourinho has thrown his full weight behind Michael Emenalo. Andre Schurrle has been a Chelsea target for 2-3 years which can only mean he was an Emenalo target and not that of any one manager.

I also am sure Mourinho didn`t have the time to watch Vitesse Arnhem week in week out for the last 2-3 years to zero in on Van Ginkel. These were done by Michael Emenalo. So what Emenalo does with his scouting team is identify the best young talent, scout them, look at their behavioural history, alcohol and drug history, injury history, medical history, collect video tapes and then they shortlist and Mourinho obviously watches some tapes before giving a go ahead.

But it doesn`t stop there, Jose uses 'Brand Mourinho' to seal the deal. In both the Schurrle and the van Ginkel deal Mourinho got involved personally to tie it up. Two other Emenalo buys Lukaku and De Bruyne have also been told in no uncertain terms that he wants them. Mourinho`s timely intervention put an end to Dortmund`s tapping up of De Bruyne and countless managers wet dreams about loaning out Lukaku.

It is on this basis we can be sure not only have Michael and Jose formed a partnership but that the partnership is working really well. Mourinho has prevented a 19 year old from going out on loan, a 20 year old from being sold, signed a 23 year old German and a 20 year old Dutchman.

Suddenly the words of the resident Mourinho critics on VC are proving to be exactly what they are - a big pile of horse dung!

BE CHAMPION

Another striker in Drogba's mould linked to Chelsea. Seriously, why are we interested in Benteke when we already have the next Drogba aka LUKAKU?! He is good enough, just give him a full senior season playing for Chelsea. I'm sure he is up to the par!

Awesome signing! Free transfer, cheap wages and very reliable backup! rclxms.gif
I like how Chelsea do business in dark secretly now. Spot on, then strike.
Mark is definitely a upgrade compare to Hilario and Turnbull. 1 year contract is great as we have Courtois coming back from loan very soon.

Welcome Mark! biggrin.gif

Isaiah Brown officially joins the Chelsea Academy

user posted image

QUOTE
By now, most of you have seen, and shared, the photo of Izzy Brown signing his Chelsea Academy papers. Contrary to some reports, Brown hasn't actually signed a Chelsea contract, you see. He's signing the papers to officially join the youth ranks. As a 16-year-old, he's not legally-allowed to discuss, let alone sign a pro deal. That aside, it's nice to see this saga finally over. Well, as much as a saga as it could be. West Brom didn't really have any way of stopping him, so the saga mostly about the compensation, not Brown joining Chelsea.

Seriously this is really out of the blue! Schwarzer? He is still maintaining his form in premier league standard. Why didn't Fulham extend his contract! Probably because they think Stekelenburg is enough as the starter? haha. This is such a bargain for us. brows.gif He will add some competition to Cech + a very reliable back up keeper.

I think there will be another signing.
but i hope it doesnt involve on lots of money.
seeing the way that the management involve in currently form of transfer it would be so good to the future.
the money that we spend excessively should be saved to invest in another project like bringin new Terry from our youth squad. notworthy.gif

hopefully JM with the new role Happy One will work with the management to sweeten out of every deal they attempt. no need another MEGA spending like Torres.
eventough Torres does prove himself but it will not shut the mouth of the critics and it really bugging me. mad.gif

find 10 more "oscar" and will be as great as other team in 2-3 season time smile.gif rclxm9.gif

agree. I like the fact that our signings so far have been sort of low-key. But i can't shake the feeling that the club is gonna make a marquee signing by deadline day.

what if we already done all our transfer after mark signed for us..after last season..we discuss and agree that we need signing in the defense or midfielder department and strike force..

what if our signing actually are..

retaining lukaku
retaining kdb
retaining kalas
signing schurrle
signing van ginkel
signing mark

and pending decision with wallace, chalobah and mceachran

we will see..

1 striker..2 wideman..1 central midfieler..1 defender and 1 goalkeeper..

3 names that if we sell them will not disrupt the team structure..

Ba
Essien
Mikel

Mikel to go for me due to his lack of speed and mobility. But JM likes a deep lying midfielder, someone like makelele. So it depends on him. I have total faith in Mou. thumbup.gif

Mikel will shine in the 4-3-3 because there are 3 midfielders and he will act as the anchorman..

but in the 4-2-3-1

we can only play 2 midfielder..both must be good in play making, defending, and passing..Mikel lack of play making..that is one reason why Lampard still relevant..because he can perform and do it all..

between mikel and essien? i will chose mikel in a heartbeat.

reason? i am not a risk taker especially in the case of the injury-prone essien. although mikel is ultra-defensive, i think he still got some strategic usage. might be good to have him at the bench (or for rotation) rather than someone at the treatment table.

we going to see a lot of ESSIEN rather than MIKEL, because he is one of JM favourite utility man, he is getting a lot game time even during on loan at RM as right back.

i think that is on completely different perspective. i am seeing essien as a competitor for the DM place while your justification is based on him playing as utility player. but still, will he play if he is injured? i am not underlying his ability to play well. my opinion is purely on my tendency not to take risk in keeping an injury-prone player at the expense of a reliable (and not a favourite) player.

still, i would be really glad if both of them stayed as they provide depth for the team.

Ya i know ESSIEN age is there, but my perspective is not just he is JM fav and being utility player is a bonus for any team. Injury is a "IF" question, ROBBEN are known by us as injury prone but he is ECL champion now, same can be say as RvP. Even is a 433 with anchorman, i dont see the current MIKEL gonna start solely because of his low work rate. JM players have always been hardworking especially in the midfield. Even the past JM 433, the DM deploy is a ball winner type, which MIKEL is totally not the same mould to MAKELELE or ESSIEN.

The DM order i see at the moment is RAM > ESSIEN > MIKEL > ROMEU. But i believe workrate can be easily improve, a high work rate MIKEL will be first in my order because defensive he is solid and his height help in set pieces. Some complain he is not creative, but is just fantasy football to be able to field all attacking player, the team need balance, a 4231 with a trident amigos + striker + CM + 2 support full back that is more than enough firepower already.

There is 2 starter player i have doubt that whether they will fit with JM plan, MIKEL (low workrate) and TORRES (not the all rounder striker type) but i believe TORRES definitely will get his chance at the start of the season, but as a poacher, if he dont score enough goal he will be give way to target man like BA or LUKAKU that contribute to more team play even they are not scoring.

Chelsea will step up their pursuit of Daniele De Rossi after Roma agreed a fee with PSV Eindhoven for Kevin Strootman, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report claims Roma will now consider offers for De Rossi after all but agreeing to the signing of Strootman.

The Serie 'A' club are believed to want £11m plus a season-long loan deal for Chelsea's latest Brazilian recruit Wallace. The full-back was signed by the Stamford Bridge club last season from Fluminense in a £4m deal.

Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of De Rossi, having twice tried to sign him before when manager of Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

With John Obi Mikel linked with a move to Turkey, the Chelsea boss sees the 29-year-old Italy international as the perfect man to step into the role at the base of the Blues midfield.

sos http://www.givemesport.com/358766-chelsea-...ure-replacement

Whats your opinion on this? Will De Rossi fit into our midfield? Anxious to see De Rossi + Lampard combo. Or imagine De Rossi + Van Ginkel! Both so energetic! brows.gif

QUOTE(briantwj @ Jul 11 2013, 07:51 PM)

Whats your opinion on this? Will De Rossi fit into our midfield? Anxious to see De Rossi + Lampard combo. Or imagine De Rossi + Van Ginkel! Both so energetic!  brows.gif

if 11m i think ok la. 29years old. might have 3-4 years left to offer.

11m can consider a bargain for player at his peak, a lot of club want to prise him away all without success, part of the reason is player himself dont want to leave ROMA thumbup.gif i seriously doubt this news hmm.gif

Van Ginkel to stay with the squad this season?
hmm.. bold decision. Excited to see how it turns out.

Hope Piazon and Ake get good loan moves next season. A mid-table team in any of the top leagues will do, of course preferably EPL. But minutes played is the more important factor.

Luiz could be the answer at the pivot problem too.
Rossi addition is a huge welcome.
He indeed become a huge boost in the pivot areas.

Chelsea closing in on signing of South American wonderkid

user posted image

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Chilean wonderkid Cristian Cuevas but are yet to agree a fee with the 18-year-old’s club O’Higgins.

“Next week we should know more details on Cristian’s future,” Chelsea’s representative in South America, Jorge Alvial told Chilean newspaper Latercera at the end of June.

Jose Mourinho's preparing for his second first friendly in charge of the club tomorrow, and he's already decided who'll be playing. With more than a few guys missing thanks to the Confederations Cup, we're not going to see anything like the strongest lineups possible... but that's ok. This is the Singa All-Stars in a game that doesn't matter one bit.

Here are the lineups, as confirmed by Chelsea.

QUOTE
First Half

Petr Cech; Ashley Cole, John Terry, Tomas Kalas, Wallace; Frank Lampard, Michael Essien; Andre Schurrle, Kevin de Bruyne, Lucas Piazon; Romelu Lukaku.

I'm glad that Cavani didn't join us. Clearly his move to PSG is motivated by cash, same as Falcao move. I don't see the Ligue 1 standard better than the BPL. Don't you guys think so?

well people always say that we can buy anyone..dont have a salary cap..but the real situation is..we failed to bring aguero to stamford bridge because the player ask for 200k per week salary..we buy big occasionally..but the transfers below 30mil in the european football now..is normal..we only broke twice in the last few season..hazard and torres..

The only thing i like about ROONEY is his workrate, i think JM feel the same too. But seeing we already got so many ppl fighting for spot, i not really fancy a big money diva/spoil brat coming, unless the price is at a reasonable 25m region.

I am already very happy with the player we have, all are very hungry to prove themself, because it seem no one is guarantee a starter, even CECH have a very experience BPL keeper challenging him, only maybe A.COLE looking a bit more comfortable with BERTRAND.

Yup, he does said he don't mind having him. I mean at the moment I think our squad are capable of challenging the league next season...and I sensed great harmony among our lads. The other clubs are having a difficult time chasing some stars so that their team can be challenging for it while I think our squad is good enough.

Schurrle, van Ginkel, de Bruyne, Lukaku, MaZaCar, I'm quite content with our squad. And can't wait for the match tonight....go blues!

Maybe MU dont want to sell Rooney to BPL rival, if another country club came in with a good offer he shall consider, no point keeping unhappy player in team

CHELSEA/ROONEY UPDATE

Chelsea have made an official statement where they have confirmed a bid for Wayne Rooney but deny offering any players in part exchange.

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney.

"Terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is apparently being briefed to the press in Sydney the proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."

'Chelsea is interested in this player, made a bid and what we did we did officially,' Mourinho said.

'Now we have nothing more to say, we want the player, we made the bid and now it is up to Man United.

'We don't want to make public the bid but it is just a certain amount of money and it doesn't involve players or players in the possibility of negotiation. No Juan Mata, no David Luiz.'

Mourinho added that he did not know Man United's response to the bid.

'Now I keep trying to improve my players and we will see what happens.

'From me no more comments with respect to Man United, my colleague David Moyes and my players.

'I trust my players and I am happy with them and in this bid I want to be respectful.'

De Bruyne was very good..fast paced and glimpse of playmaker role..He was later in the game subs out for Bertrand Traoré..this guy nearly nick the second goal hahaha

Ramires..nothing change..there are still heavy touches..but his passing kind a improving..longer range and pass through players..

overall..a good friendly..

and I hope that Lampard will recover asap from his minor ankle problem..Shah Alam is waiting for him.. thumbup.gif

QUOTE
You won't have missed the nonsense this morning about Rooney and swapping him for Mata or Luiz and a lot of money.

Twitter almost spontaneously combusted with Chelsea fans spitting out their cornflakes in rage over the sheer lunacy of the deal, and of United fans creaming their jockeysocks in unison at the thought of one of the world's finest number tens playing for them.

How can Chelsea be so stupid?

Come to think of it, how stupid would United be to turn it down?

As some of us tried to tell you at the time, it was the biggest load of nonsense since the last Katie Price book. It is just meaningless words concocted by someone who has had a huge wind-up at everyone's expense. It was telling those of the established journos (yes, Ben Smith, Ollie Holt, Matt Lawton - we mean you) we're trying to stand by whoever wrote the story, whereas others (Sam Wallace, Martin Samuel and the excellent Rory Smith - we mean you) did not believe it for one second and could scarcely hide their amazement and disappointment that the Daily Mail chose to run the story, suggesting in one case that 'some journalists should concentrate on what is actually happening than what they wish was happening'.

Amen!

What actually happened of course was Chelsea made a cash bid of GBP27m, and United turned us down, but chose to leak to media sources that the deal was the ten million plus Mata or Luiz. Why they chose to do this can only be for PR reasons - United would rather have the rags talking about Chelsea wanting to get rid of two their best players (Mata and Luiz) than the rags talking about United having to get rid of one of their best players in Rooney.

It probably seemed like clever PR at the time of course, but whoever it was did not think far enough ahead - one wonders what in fact they thought would happen when the Daily Mail ran with it? Shock horror. Chelsea clarify the situation with a press release saying it how it is, and of course now leaving United looking rather pathetic.

I applaud Chelsea for being smart enough to see what was happening and sorting it out.

But the point I'd like to make for this SOTN here is tangential - bear with me.

I was a little alarmed at the vitriol leveled at the club, particularly Gourlay and Emenalo and (unbelievably!) Jose himself, as the reports came out. Huge swathes of our fanbase were seething with resentment and sarcasm, slating all three to high heaven on Twitter. Now lets discount for a second the character trait of believing what you read in the notoriously mendacious UK agenda-driven media, or what miserable and tragic indictment that passes on you as a person. Leaving that aside - what in the world has the club done, transfer wise, that deserves such derision?

I'd contend we have a very, very savvy operation going here now.

When did we start doing silly business like the press were trying to suggest? Not even the giddy days of immediately post-Roman were that daft. We used to buy badly. We used to get mugged left right and centre.

Not any more.

We have a smart, very well considered transfer policy and are nobody's mugs any more. Just ask Porto and Napoli - they try every summer for the flavour of the month and every summer we walk away because they are taking the piss. We buy top class younger players and kids and we develop them.

You only have to look at the players playing for us against Singha Allstars this afternoon to realise how good our transfer policy is.

Wallace - looks a class signing.
Azpilicueta - one of the best young RBs in the world, Spanish international, signed for 8m.
De Bruyne - the definition of money well spent. Absolutely class.
Luiz - paid 22m, is worth 10m more than that now.
Ramires - quality buy.
Van Ginkel - already looks a quality buy and we got him on the cheap.
Schurrle - see above. Both have potential to be world class.
Cahill - 7m. Nuff said.
Ba - 7m paid and we'd get more than that to sell him on. Profit.
Lukaku - people scoffed at us paying 18m for him, they dont anymore.

Then you've got Mata for 23m and Oscar for 20m, and Hazard arguably the best player in the Prem now and a steal at 32m.

When was the last dodgy buy we had? Marin - fair enough, but he was only 8m and we'd likely recoup that when we sell him.

I can really only think of Benayoun and Torres in the last few years. And even in Torres' case you can probably make a case for him having recouped a lot of his value in terms of shirtsales and the small matter of key goals vs Barca away and THAT night in Amsterdam. He scored 23 goals last season. We'd probably get 15m for him if we sold him, so he isnt a total unmitigated catastrophe.

My point is made.

We do not get mugged off in the transfer market any more. We pay fair value or we walk away, and we have easily the best 'hit rate' for new players coming in of any top team - Liverpool, United or Arsenal would absolutely kill to have as many resounding hits in the transfer market as we get and keep on getting.

Yet people (and our own fans) continue to think that just because someone writes it, it is true. Written by some idiot with attention issues and no personality who needs to do a wind up in the papers to gain some twitter followers and make a name for himself at the gutter rags. How does this prideless nobody deserve credibility and credence over our own transfer team who - and I deliberately repeat myself here - have proven themselves over and over and over again recently.

Just a thought here people.

How about we give Emenalo, Jose and Gourlay and the backroom people who handle this business for us a little more respect and recognition in what they do?

And next time the papers need to sell more chip paper in the north of England and so make up nonsense that the unwashed millions up there will want to read to mollify their fears of the rising Chelsea juggernaut - next time they deliberately try to destabilise the club and our players - just bear in mind this piece.

Trust in Jose. And Emenalo. And yes: even in Gourlay (about transfers at least!)

CAREFREE.

Best player on the pitch me thinks.Looks like he just spent time playing footie after bremen's season ended tongue.gif played with some real composure on the ball.

Errr does van ginkel look shorter in real life than in
those youtube vids?

p.s : jury's out on rooney. I don't think he can handle the constant jeers and abuse waiting for him in the stands and in the rags, if he ends up in blue. On the other hand,we're certainly throwing a spanner in utd's pre-season. Sell and they might not secure an adequate replacement, don't sell and they're stuck with an unhappy squad member. It has to be said david moyes shot himself in the foot (with a double barreled shotgun) with those comments about rooney though.

As a CF, a counter attack team with ROONEY drool.gif but against a parking the bus team shakehead.gif coz he is the type of player that like to have the ball, so he will come out to get the ball often then in the box no focal point. But he is definitely JM sayur, all rounded hardworking forward. I hope our style next season will be like RM lightning fast counter type, hate those tiki taka that will pass u to boredom.

+1 to both point

Rooney is losing his touches ever since RVP arrives in Man Utd.
Rooney is a good player when the team is attacking. When defending, he tends to drop too deep. Imho, he is an attacking midfield, not an out and out striker. brows.gif

For me even ROONEY + CASH for MATA also no deal tongue.gif , consider the player we have now, we dont really need a ROONEY, but MATA have been really important to us, he somehow have taken the DROGBA mantel, he bail us out so many times last season, to me he is the only player in the squad when u need for a goal, u will look up to him to deliver.

Let's discuss about the striker problem. Falcao to Monaco, Cavani to PSG, Lewan looks set to stay. What other options for us left in the 20-goals striker for us? Not much option I would say, I have a feeling Mou will stick with Lukaku, Ba and Torres.

After r9, there is no more brazillian striker that i can rate as world class.

There were a few reaching there like adriano luisfabiano.. but not the kind of guy who wud regularly bang in 30 goals. Fred is also ex lyon, pato om bench with his brazil club.

Maybe just maybe neymar whos already w barca

don't ever buy world most ugliest player wayne rooney. he only know visiting hooker center while playing snooker. we don't need man utd or liverpool player. get rid of el nino that useless player. play LUIZ as main striker also won't puke blood cos he won't miss a ridiculous goal like torres did so oftenly & can't even hold up the ball.

lol PSG president sound a bit childish, firstly BARCA will beg MESSI to go if they meet his 200-250m release clause, secondly, even so, is still up to MESSI to sign or not.

to be honest, i wouldn't mind if we sign Rooney. true, he has quite some problems off the pitch but on the pitch, you can't deny that he is a very good player. always with the high work rate - defending, attacking.

else lets just leave it to Mou. i'm hoping that he can bring back the old liverpool Torres

HIGUIAN ? highly unlikely, his relation with JM at RM was so so only, and JM play BENZEMA over him most of the time. Just another rumour made up i guess.

Of all the striker we are link, i actually think FALCAO is the best option, he is the striker that will stay inside the box and good at it, we do not need another striker that can play wide, we have plenty cover for that already. HIGUAIN was ok but like i mention above, unlikely it will happen.

The problem i see last season is that, against a parking bus team, when TORRES or BA was ineffective inside the box or drift wide, nobody go in and fill the box, we need more player doing smart run inside the box. MAZACAR definitely not the type that is comfortable go in the box, they prefer staying outside and getting the ball. A ROONEY playing the trident role (not striker) will help i guess, he got the striker instinct to do smart run to attack the box. I think SCHURRLE might has it too since he can play as striker.

Seeing all the available striker have been taken, i am pretty happy with TORRES, BA and LUKAKU. I say let start the season with the squad we have, give everybody a chance to prove themselves, then maybe by january, JM will know who is in his plan and who is not.

+1 on that. I think if Lukaku is given a full season in a Chelsea shirt, he will shine. Just that Torres is kind of inconsistent, hope that his goal scoring form for last season and confed cup can be carried forward to the next season. We really need a striker scoring inside the box, a finisher or should I say.

higuain was not featured regularly when JM was there. i doubt JM want him here.
instead of loan Ba out might as well get him off ur wage book and offload him. one stone, 2 birds. in addition his physical aint that good as well. injured much often i guess?

hmm.gif I know he wasn't Mou's first choice in Real. Mou do prefer Benzema, but Higuain scores more than 15 goals for the last 5 consecutive season for Rea, except for the 10/11 season. Even for the last season when he was seldom used by Mou, he still scored 16.

season 08/09 - 22 goals
season 09/10 - 27 goals
season 10/11 - 10 goals
season 11/12 - 22 goals
season 12/13 - 16 goals

That is quite consistent imho. Looking at the options of striker available on the market now, Higuain would be a good buy, just dono how well he will adapt to EPL. icon_idea.gif

Ba's situation is a bit awkward i think, signed 6 months ago, but suddenly Torres starts scoring, then Ba became 2nd choice. Just bought for 6 month then offload him? I think he will be loaned out instead if a striker do come. 3 and half year contract le~ Teams sometimes are not willing to pay so much for a player that has juz signed not long ago with a 3 n half year contract.

Seems like Mou really keen on signing Roo. And his comments about Rooney needing regular first-team football puts other 3 strikers' position in question. If Roo does come in, one of them has to go. Probably will be Torres. He could benefit from moving elsewhere. Ba might be good to have him in the squad, but if a club really wants him, loan or otherwise, maybe he can leave instead of Torres.

Roo is monster footballer. World class, only limited by his fitness in my opinion. Work-rate and team work undeniable. Dangerous on the ball, exactly what Mou needs. I would be happy if we do sign him, but won't be sad if we don't. I'm just looking forward to see Mou and the boys in action with Lukaku, DeBruyne getting first team football in Blue.

+1 If Mou say that, Ba, Torres and Lukaku is soooo in danger. 1 of them will be sacrificed (sold or loan). But who will it be? rclxms.gif

tactically, i think rooney is a better purchased compared to higuain. he is more versatile and hardworking than higuain.

plus i don't think rooney will cost us as much as higuain.

furthermore, if we bought higuain, lukaku's chance to play will be affected because they are vying for the same exact spot (did not include ba because i think he understand he is only a squad player).

my gut feeling is strong on the option of gambling with lukaku next season and make our move during the january transfer window. at the moment, PSG and Monaco is on spending free which I think will inflate some of our target's value. if we do add rooney, then we are better off without ba.

‘For me, Luiz is a central defender,’ said Mourinho. ‘He can help the team playing in another position but he’s a central defender, no doubt about it.

‘I know Ivanovic is very comfortable in the centre but I see him and Cesar Azpilicueta as our two right backs. Our defensive group will be good.’

yes chelsea supporter at malaysia not as much as the other traditional big four..but we are growing..this time around the organizers and sponsors really bad..not as good as thailand..there are less events and coverage..even the tickets was announce late and no large scale promotions...plus with the current condition ramadhan, national team and 6 key players not coming..make this trip look worst than before this for the outsiders especially non-chelsea fans..its just funny when they start blaming Chelsea for everything despite the real party that failed is the local company organizer...bunch of tweet..

we chelsea fans here around klang valley will never fill up stadium since the last two trip.., harimau malaya supporter is what that missing for the game tonight..

I remember 2 years back also it's Ramadhan month right? But somehow managed to get more the whole stadium full on a Thursday night.
I guess the later kick off also plays apart since by the time everyone reach home, our Muslim friends will need have little time to rest for tomorrow.

stadium going fans and tv watching fans are 2 different niche market altogether. stadium going fans will always go to the stadiums weather there are live on tv or not.... it does not effect them if suddenly broadcasters pull the match out of tv..

it is the tv watching fans who will be affected. punishing one side for abysmal result of another is not fair...

at least inform the decision to not air the match live a few days earlier to give chance to tv watching fans to change into match going fans..that is much more wiser i think..

although to be fair nobody says the match will be shown live on tv in the first place. we just took for granted that it will be..

Like before, there is a certain % of ticket sales that needs to be met. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of live telecast. So they can't really inform a few days in advance they are not going to show it.

If I'm not mistaken this is not the first time they cancelled for Chelsea's match before right? There was one time when they had no problem with Arsenal's match but had to cancel Chelsea's due to poor ticket sales when both came to visit. Correct me if I'm wrong.
