all turbo sim in this world can only guarantee you on current ios, apple may or may not close back the hole on new ios patch. if you are using a turbo sim, please ask a unlock specialist first. we can only tell you one week after new ios patch after full tested.
P.S: only factory unlock can guarantee upgradeable to any ios, but not all carrier of iphone can factory unlock, is either too expensive or not available. by no choice you have use this turbo sim to unlock.

Review VIDEOS of IPHONE 5 - By CNet
Moving on to the connector - as expected, Apple has moved to a new smaller connector, called Lighting. The new connector features 8 pins and is 80% smaller. It has improved durability and is reversible (no more guessing which end is up!). For compatibility with older cables and accessories, there's an unattractive looking converter.

really? i try to contact maxis center and everytime they keep on mentioning need to walk in and let them to check. just want to know do they managed to replicate the issue when u walk in to maxis center? before sending, did u try to restore factory setting on ur phone?
QUOTE(SirRieq @ Jun 21 2013, 04:08 PM)
how to know this?
actually from my experience, during u charging ur phone using wall socket, then u try to open ur camera, move left or right, shake here n there, then u noticed there's purple line or stripe coming out. this is very random, sometime it appears but sometime not. is kind of hard to simulate... that's why i worry, when i send mine one to maxis center, when they can't replicate the issue, sure they would ask us to go back n try again.

Yep, just walk in to Maxis centre. Tell the technicians what are the issues, and they'll record it. They don't check it on the stop, unless you're going to KLCC or TTDI.
Ya, I reset everything before surrender my iPhone to them.

Hey there, is there anyone using Maxis carrier and with iOS 7 beta that could connect to LTE network? I have been to LTE coverage area however it doesn't seem to be connecting to LTE, just 3G network instead.
I have contacted with Maxis and they say that my SIM is LTE enabled.

Bro, do u use carrier editor?i think u wont get it unless u go for original carrier.i see that ur carrier is in 14.5 which is different.if u want lte, urs must be in 14.1.
yeah i do experience this sometimes. is the 'retry' option available? if yes, just hit retry. most of the time mine works after pressing retry.

Happens in school. I am thinking if it's just a network block by the school or just the turtle-speed connection.
No this is different than the one I had previously. I can't download any app at all. It will throw the "Unable to download Application" at me and if I click retry, the same pop up will come out. Dunno what's wrong
If there's any need to restore firmware of iPhone on another computer, that same copy can be used by pressing Shift+Restore in iTunes (given that if it's not "delta" updates).

I'm on iOS7 with 14,5 carrier settings and I can get LTE at some areas, such as KLCC and etc
Even on the Penchala link too.

Don't give misleading advice. It's well known that some users on BETA 1 already has no issues with LTE even on Maxis carrier 14,5. Only select few have such issues.

Again, refer to reply above. More than few users here are reporting LTE with Maxis Carrier setting of 14,5
Doubt it's the carrier setting.

I am using UniFi at home and the router and modem are in my room upstairs. When I use my Iphone5 can connect it to wifi, I won't be receiving signals from downstairs of my house or very weak signal.
Right now even when I'm sitting right infront of the router with my Iphone 5, it can be connected with a strong signal. However sometimes the connection is not stable and my whatsapp will show "connecting.." and Instagram can't load pictures for example. Only after refreshing for a few times only can. But when the connection is okay it is fast when i use in my room. Is there a problem with my phone? Because I don't have connection issue using my laptop upstairs or downstairs.
Besides this, my Iphone 5 can only be connected to the wifi at home. When I try to connect to wifi in hotels or even McDs, it says "unable to join network".
Any idea what is happening to my phone sifus? Thank you.

Why some of the apps in iPhone 5 although stay in background but when you open it but look like you never open before. It's inactive/suspended in the background

Yes it's normal. The phone would get even hotter if you're using it while charging. Battery drain fast if you're using it often for graphic/internet.

iOS is better than everything else. especially android. i'm a big fan of iOS but think Z10 not bad also.
i have got the Q10 but really the pricing, build quality and the Apps are really not there. i have been using BB for so many years so my defecting really says something about Blackberry. BB10 OS is quite good until iOS7 comes along that is (hope)

i just realised that once your iphone is fully charged (with the plugged in icon) and you disconnect it immediately and leave it, you'll get a longer battery life, and the phone will remain 100% for 8 hours with both wifi and bluetooth on.
The batt keep draining by itself. I don't on wifi and data when I'm sleeping.
And from 90, it dropped to 60. There's no apps running background.
Walao, i would be sending the phone back if i were u bro. Still not sure whether its battery or what problem. It can also cause by other thing. 2 weeks is not too late to send back bro. surely u wont want to fork out some cash later on.
Yesterday, some seller told me no stock. By telco and apple. They have to get the stock from other seller. But the price for 16gb 2190 increase become 2260. Because of no stock everywhere and they take opportunity increase the price. Yeah business rite.
Yep there is limited stocks but only the white one. i was so happy with the iPhone 5 i went out to another for my wife last night at LYP. Limited stocks and have to pay a higher price for it.The 16GB one that is.
i drop my iPhone 5 into toilet, it fully submerged for like at least 1 sec or so, the screen is still on while i drop it, and its still on after i took it out of the water and the touch screen is still responsive, so atm i think im the lucky one and i leave my phone there for few mins, after that when i look into my phone, the screen turn into purple with pink with pixel thingy. then only i turn it off. now its sitting in a air tight container filled with uncooked rice. will my phone survive this?

Maybe is not ur luck, bro. Mine happened once before. Buy just scuff. Sell and bought new one. Invest some money to buy either lifeproof, armor or catalyst. U wont regret. Invest some money a bit bro.

you should never play with it and let it dry completely.
Hi, i have a few months old ip5 which still on warranty. I have this problem where my phone battery is badly drained even when i was sleeping. Everything is perfectly well except for this matter. Is it possible to claim warranty for this problem?
Thank you
Ps: photo attached is my phone usage and standby time.
I dont really know the definition of battery drain.
But here how I check if there is a problem with battery.
I will charge it in the evening, slightly overcharged before sleep and then disconnect it to drain for the night for around 7-9 hour sleep.
In the morning, if the battery indicates about 94-98%, it should be pretty healthy. This way can ensure no other work on the phone which is affecting the battery drain.
Apps in the background usually wont drain much power. I had warhammer quest or infinity blade in the background but I dont see much drain. Even cellular data on also would not pose a problem.

To check it is CDMA or GSM can easily by imei no. CDMA usually not support factory unlock. GSM can support factory unlock but depend the country and carrier price from RM50 to RM500+
Trying switching of notifications for your apps like games. Only use notifications for social apps (FB, Twitter) & your emails and others that you think you need.
After almost 9 months it release, the price didn't even drop?
apple product price hardly drop..once you see price drop from local carrier like maxis, celcom, digi, then is time new model coming..this is standard procedure..

oh ic.. but with ip5,how to use the 4g internet? is it depends on the sim card and plan or it depends on the 4G coverage area?
Call Maxis to confirm your simcard and plan is support LTE and you within the LTE coverage then you able to use it. some very old sim may need to change. but if you using nano sim, usually already supported.

go to maxis centre, get a fresh new nano sim from there. they will charge you RM20 when your bill comes. with the new SIM, 4G will be automatically activated (you might need to update carrier settings). then go to places with LTE connectivity and you'll be connected automatically.

By the way, if this is the first time u change ur sim, i think u can call to maxis to waive the fee.

i'm using normal type and cut to micro sim and using my S4 9505 LTE and can get LTE speed at about 17mb download speed at Sri Petaling Area.

in iphone5, when using iMessage app, if the box is green color, it is Text Message. if the box is blue color, it is iMessage.
Anyone know if blue color iMessage will have charges or not when sending these messages??
QUOTE(lisahasan @ Jul 19 2013, 10:36 PM)
either use wifi or data can send imessage. but dunno bout the charge.
No charges using iMessage lol... But if message cannot send thru (your phone not connected to internet OR the other party's phone not connect to internet), it'll send thru normal Text Message.

this option u can off it if you're using ios 6 by not sending failed message into text messages, unsure about ios 7.

Did you check what background apps are still running ? How much free memory available to the system ?

I clear up everything often and I think it is because of the 3G ? Since using 3G will definitely use more energy.

Found the answer, it's coz celcom hasnt officially launch their LTE plan yet. Sorta.
And if anyone knows why my personal hotspot suddenly disappeared from setting, pls shed some light for me to solve this problem. I've used personal hotspot connected via usb to my pc b4 but last night that just happened. But there's option in setting>privacy where i have to re-enable that again by calling *99#. Was that the only option coz i've used personal hotspot without problem b4 this, just last night it made a fuss.

look into Garage Sale section first, under "Mobile Phone and Related Accessories". If u want iPad can check out "Notebook and Tablets" section.

deal it at apple reseller store... ask the staff to check it for you... lol
if cant then you need to check; 1. seller information online, previous history, records, whatever... 2. phone with ori box / series number / ori receipt / ori accessories / whatever they promised you (to make sure not stolen set or whatever), and telco set should have warranty card 3. ask whether the phone any damage (ask first is better) , then look at it by yourself, remove the casing, check the body for any scratches, dents, scuffs, cracks, water damages sign etc... normal wear and tear should be acceptable as long as informed by the seller and you can accept it... 4. check power button, home button, imei number, serial number, google the serial number online... 5. check display make sure no dead pixel, no cracks, no awkward colour or whatever...
for seller 1. honesty is best policy... normally buyers will accept it if you honest, rather than they find out afterwards... if they dont accept your condition then wait for another buyer... apple stuff can fetch good price you want...

iphone 5 tends to warmer than ipad... if its too hot you may consider off your phone and let it "cool-down" for a few minutes... but for jailbroken devices its sometimes depends on what types of tweaks you applied.... do not too adventurous.... my brother gone too extreme (iphone 5 speed like iphone 3gs already) then his final solution is only to restore his iphone..

I believe most important to check is whether the phone got water damage and the screen damage or not. If lets say the seller is dishonest, at least the other parts are not that expensive to repair (home button, power button, etc) but if the screen damage or the phone drop in water before, it is going to be very expensive to replace it.

how to check if phone got water damage?? nowadays got many people that dishonest but thanks for ur advice

if home button and power button can sent it for warranty, water damage is not covered... normal if light water go in and not damaged we not going to detect it, if is severe water damage sure they repair it before... just look it at the screw at bottom to see whether its is opened before (if is black then it is more easy to detect... ), and from outside it is not easy to check, just make sure the screen and the button all is ok... if you have strong nose you can try smell it if you want, see got sea water or toilet water anot, lol...
actually by ourselves we will not 100% sure what is considered water damage... aybe some pros to highlight us?

So iphone 5 also warmer than iphone 4s ? Wa, i only use tweak like sbsettings, battery doctor pro, killallbackground all those only. Never use tweak like quasar or others that hog a log of battery. But seriously i find it sometimes the temperature is quite hot i would say as it reaches around 40 degree C
to prevent to buy a fake iphone, just bring your notebook together and connect the phone to itunes, fake iphone will never connect/detect by itunes. apple care page for serial no check may not tell you this is a fake iphone (FAKE iphone also have serial no or imei no).

i do hope that telcos will review the situations from last years and bring in more units this time.
wow really? why wud they stop selling the old model when the new one is coming out? wudnt it b cheaper, try to clear stock?
No idea, but i was randomly asking around the shops they said all sold out and waiting for apple to announce the new iPhone, (presumely it will be named 5S), the only way to buy it is only through online. I was told by the apple store staff even the telco carriers are out of stock too
As long as U have the iphone digi warranty card should be fine.
yeah.. just go to nearest digi center and ask them a replacement set. but need wait for the stock. before go make sure if ur phone has been jailbreak, restore it first.

Does it really matter if it has siri or not? Do you actually even use siri?
siri does not speaks asian tougue yet... so is no use at all... i rather siri become text input assistant, choice based task assistant... then is better...

Siri cant determine places and locations in Malaysia also, unless u jailbreak but that doesnt count. For me siri is more of a gimmick for iphone. Even if it can detect asian tongue, i think i wont use it as it would be faster to manually do it rather than asking siri to do it

Will it be any problem if i use the non oem usb cable to charge my iphone 5? Anyone experience before?
i'm using it for 6month on my iphone 5, so far no problem, but for iOS 7 with warning message "this cable or accessories is not certified and may not work reliably with this iphone"
planning not to update current ios 6 any further. will stick to ios 6 forever for my iphone 5. probably would buy new iphone 5s or maybe 5c orrrr maybe an ipod touch to test out ios 7.
ios 6 is the last version ios from ios 4-ios6 while ios 7 is a brand new and revamped ios for idevices. i was thinking if i updated to ios 7, will never be a chance again to downgrade to ios 6 plus my ios 6.1.2 is jailbroken
jailbroken iphone makes anything possible (safari/chrome downloader, shortcuts) i love my jailbroken iphone

i am so curious why is our telco havent drop the price for iphone 5 as upcoming iphones are going to release...
as far as i know, they will reduce the price until further notice. anyway, its an iphone. enough said. unlike android device, iphone price will not drop until the new model comes out

FYI, Walmart, ATT and TMobile have revised their plans in conjunction with the release of new models.. seem like our telcos are not willing to do so in the sense of lowering the price on the plan...

you just purchased the new iP5? not gonna wait another month for the iP5s/6 to b launched?
btw guys, i have a problem with my battery lately. my phone shuts down at about 4-6% battery left. either it thinks that it doesnt have any battery left, OR the battery indicator is spoilt (showing 4-6% battery left when there is less that that).
anyone around here experience this before? not sure if its covered by the warranty.

my phone before this did go down to 1%. only lately did it start dying at 4-6%. usually that last 1% of battery seems pretty lasting. hahha. mayb psychology. but shutting down at 4-6% is definitely not right.
been using iPhones for quite a few of its generations now. dont remember encountering this problem before. anyone here having this problem and know a way to fix it? besides sending it in for warranty.

they will ask you fully drain it and then fully charge it and let it 100% for extend 2 hours plus... then see how...
so did you track 100% down to 20% can sustain hour many hours (normal usage), if it drained too fast and you did the all the diagnosis steps... then you can try opt for warranty if you suspect battery defects...
My iphone5 is using digi 3g prepaid internet and have no problems with loading youtube videos before. But just 3 weeks ago it started to hang with my 3g connections whenever I'm using heavy data traffic (even loading a short youtube video or facebook images).
The problem is like this, the phone will load everything normally until suddenly there's no more data transfer, the 3G logo is still there and it will try to load forever. I have to disable and enable Cellular Data to get my internet connection back, it's really annoying since I can't use youtube or facebook anymore.
If I'm using wifi there's no problem at all, just this 3G on digi.

i'm using Digi iphone 5 and Maxis S4 LTE, digi mobile data not as good as maxis, especially at shopping mall weekend digi is very bad, some time only get 10kb speed where u see a 3g sign..initial my both under digi postpaid until i cannot tahan and take all speedtest screen shoot sent to complaint and they allow me early termination contract without penalty. i'm now happy with maxis mobile data service, digi just a spare.
i did try, but result still the same, so if I send for warranty can I get a new refurbished set?
Yes bro. They will make sure the problem cannot be solve n u will get replacement which is refurbished set. But u need to wait for warranty claim as i heard now heard to get.

not so true... refurb sets were tested according to standards, and battery is guaranteed new... and warranty will most probably longer that your previous one (unless is very old refurbished sets = just 90 days or follow your existing warranty)...

home button, sleep button, screen problem, board problem (again not fully blaming on refurbished set coz we might also get even on main set) = many problems not all apple certified technician are good, hence u wont see so many people rather not want refurbished set. and, some technicians from local shops can be damn good, even better than those apple certified = fix at shop better old battery or new battery, the battery sucks too coz its apple you pay your 2k+ for a brand new phone, used less than 2 months (or even earlier), u gotta swap for a refurbished set = happy?

if used 11th month then swap... i happy... mine unit swapped at 8th month... now my warranty until July 2014 (according to apple website)... i happy fix at shop... future warranty might void if any... if still under warranty better sent warranty... but if need fast fix it then fix at shop lor... coz sent for warranty always is troublesome (service center far, find parking hard, need wait long, need restore etc...) if out of warranty (screen crack, water damage) = fix at shop better if warranty expired = fix at shop better

yeah agreed. i rather get a send it back to apple if there is anything wrong with the phone that is covered/protected by the warranty. how can outside technician, that fixes all kinds/brands of phones, be better than people that are dedicated to only know ONE product?

i agree with your frst statement but not the second. as @dikae pointed out... i agree with currently many very pro and experience iphone repair specialist at the market now... if my device out of warranty and it need to be fixed... i will bring it to fixed at outside technician rather than daylight robbery by apple out of warranty service unless there is no other alternatives...

Well, of course if your phone under warranty you gonna send it back to Apple for warranty. I really don't understand that people rather send their phone to outside shops for service because dont want to lose jailbreak. Is it that desperate? Yes you will get refurbished unit if sent to Apple but at least the unit has been fixed and checked by Apple.
Outside repair shop, I trust not all of them. I've had experiences where the phone got worse after sending for fixing. There is once I sent my previous phone to where i bought the phonefor WARRANTY (they're one of the authorised repair for SE), but it got worse. Now? It's lying in my drawer, collecting dust, still refuse to open. Was charged about 500 for the repair parts. Wtf.
After warranty, you need to really do some survey before sending back. Don't send to Machines, mac city, or those shops or they'll do daylight robbery. Try QCD at berjaya Times Square. Lowest price I got. If not worth it only send it for outside repair if you want, or get a new phone.
i have this problem before on digi 3G issue, the stupid digi system has not activate the 3G service and i'm just getting "E" speed. even i have call to the helpline many time and finally found is their backend system not activate the 3G service without any reason, meaning is that the helpline system and the backend are see difference thing. i do all speedtest screenshot and sent them my current location and time taken speedtest and instead talk with technical engineer and finally they restore back in their backend system. i have change 3time and paying 3 simcard change fees.
my contract with Digi end Nov 2013, i have complaints since feb this year and what i did was every time i do speedtest, and screenshot those low speed with 3G sign and email digi and CC "MCMC" with detail location and time. i'm doing this for about 3months until cannot tahan and walk in to Sunway Digi at LG. i request them to cancel and want port out immediate, the front counter officer can't decide and keep go to back office talk with manager, the manager also not dare come out talk with me and finally they cancel my contract without penalty due to i have all the proof. initial they insist not allow, but maybe i got 2 principal line with total 7lines with them i just say, if you insist, i will move all out instead of 1 port out, and finally took them 2days the cancel my contract and i port out on May and happily using maxis S4 LTE now.. but to be fare Digi rate plan i have is a bit cheaper then maxis, and some area digi has better coverage, but in majority still maxis has better 3G/4G speed. even i got 4g sign with 1bar, i'm still getting above 10mb speed and max i'm getting 4g speed at 55mb on S4 LTE

hmmm then is individual case for you lor... anyway digi 3g speed slow like turtle is a fact...
Change to Maxis and try their LTE.. Blazing fast..
got contract till dec 2014... unless i go the complain route... anyway i seldom utilized my 3g/talk time/sms... just blindly paying rm90 (iDiGi 138) every month since tied to contact

The speed is there, but the battery drains really fast. I need to charge 2-3 times for my ip5 per day..
2-3times a day? bro i think you are a very heavy user. i have LTE on the entire day with siri/location settings. i can last from approximately 10am till about 8pm. i bring power bank out if im not home after 8pm. but before that, battery not a problem for me.
awww not good idea then, I need my battery more important than the LTE sigh
Get a powerbank.. haha..

Not sure bro.. Any idea on how to check which app sucks the battery?
you mean LTE will not cause battery to drain faster? compared to 3G..
i dont see the difference when i'm at a place that receives full bar LTE, but at places with weak LTE the battery tends to drain faster as its constantly changing from LTE to 3G and back to LTE

I think that make sense, when 3G switches to E too often, my batt got drained much faster too..
I'm having a serious juice drainning, i slept at 11pm while that time it shows 99%, in the morning 55% was shown, wat a massive drop? is it normal? *3g and wifi is off, and I clear all multitask away
Is there any ways to copy photos to iPhone without using itunes?
connect to wifi and try check on the photo stream. if it is upload then from yr pc jz connect thru icloud (.exe to install for win / mac dont required) then jz check on yr My Picture.
I just went to maxis today and changed to a new simcard
But when i open lte it only shows 3g sign.. No lte? Why is that?
Im staying at subang jaya and i thought it is supported? Or should i do something first? Im using ios7 beta 5 now
Oh and also i changed to a cheaper plan but still it still more than 2gb internet
yeah shud b fixed after upgrading carrier settings. btw did you enabled 4G/LTE on your new simcard? not sure if it wud be provided automatically if its not requested.

that is definitely not normal. if you are using it, den its ok. but left on standy and sucking that much battery does not seem normal to me.

cuz this is a new replacement set, and the 1st day I didn't charge for 8 hrs, it doesn't matter right for smartphone nowadays, but will definitely try to charge a 8hrs again tonight and see

Sometimes people laugh at me for spending on cheap cases and screen protectors on a RM2.5K phone... but this means that I can get new cases every few months...

all turbo sim in this world can only guarantee you on current ios, apple may or may not close back the hole on new ios patch. if you are using a turbo sim, please ask a unlock specialist first. we can only tell you one week after new ios patch after full tested.
P.S: only factory unlock can guarantee upgradeable to any ios, but not all carrier of iphone can factory unlock, is either too expensive or not available. by no choice you have use this turbo sim to unlock.
Does your unlock compatible with iphone 5 with orange uk as the carrier and iOs 6.1.4 too?
1. camera quality (front and back also, and daytime / low light performance) 2. battery life
these features will decide me to change or not.... others features is not relevant to me...
Yes I will, I never skip any iPhone generation before lol. If you haven't have iPhone now, you can buy secondhand first. Sell it when new one launching here.
It will be around Nov/Dec when launch here, so still long way to go.
yaya dont bother about the scratch la mine also scratch until it look like a china phone
Yours white colour? I find scratches seem to be less obvious and easier to cover up (use marker) on the black version. If white version, it's so obvious cause of the shine. I used to think it was the other way round, but seems not. lol.

If they maintain camera quality (don't really have to make it better), also very good enough already. No Android phone so far to me can even come close to iPhone 5 now in terms of perfect exposure, white balance and natural colours.
Battery life, Apple will just make it slightly bigger because there really is no need for a much bigger battery due to efficiency of hardware power consumption and iOS superior power management among all OS now. After all, my iPhone 5 super-small-battery can least nearly as long as my Android large-battery phones like Note II, etc. And after testing iOS 7 Beta myself, the iOS is even more battery efficient.

If follow back last year, we need to wait until December for 5S to be officially launched here. That's still a really LONG wait.
Same here, didn't skip any iPhone generation. The upgrade is always worth it cause it makes the superb apps available to perform even better. I still cry for Android cause I love their hardware but they can't produce apps with superb fluid interface, usage, deep-level integration such as iOS now. I just wish Google could make it easier for developers by coming out with a more robust Android OS, perhaps they need to even build from the ground up (seriously!).

i not whine much about battery life (talktime)... if 3G/GPS/LTE got 80%-120% increase (6-10 hours) will be killer anyway lol...

yes, to me it's still very long!
About the Android part, that's why I always keep two platform on my hand
Hi all, i suspect my iphone 5 seems to be having some minor wifi connection issue;
1. but only when connect to office internal wifi (need special pass&login), it will disconnect soon after auto lock. 2. when connect to house wifi (unifi) can have stable connection, no disconnect.
my other frens in office using samsung all have stable connection, will not disconnect.
i compare to my ipad mini..tested with my office wifi, even after sleep the wifi still connected even after lock sleep.
I bought my iPhone last week and there seems to be problem with the 3G connection. I called the service centre and they asked me to bring the phone for the technicians to check and if it's really the phone's problem, they will do 1 to 1 replacement but it will take about 5-7 working days and I have to surrender my existing iPhone to them. I don't have any spare phone to use and now this happens, so frustrating.
Problem with the 3G is that when the signal is lost for maybe few minutes, it will not reappear again. Only solution is to restart the phone. Not even airplane mode helps. Hopefully it's just a software problem and ios7 fixes it.

try restore your ios again to 6.1.4(ip5) if you using ios 7 now.
