Is it true that iPhone5 USA set (fully unlock) will have some problems in GPS here?

My sister just sent us her phone from US, now give mom use.

First of all, Digi / Maxis can't get LTE signal (only 3G) despite the phone/sim supporting. But my mom isn't a hardcore issue so not a problem

But the most serious PROBLEM is theres GPS problem whereby Waze / Google Maps can't detect your location and hence cannot be used.

I'm no noob
1) I turned on privacy settings and gave permissions etc
2) tried factory reset. Didn't work.
3) tried indoors/ outdoors/ morning/night/ different areas etc

I sent it to a phone repair shop because I thought its hardware problem. But was told by the technician that it won't work here because its a US set and there is some compatibility issue..but calls/sms all no issues

Why my iphone 5s screen got yellow line at around the edges?

Is it true?

Anyone tried 10.3.3 for iphone 5? I am having 9.3.5
Shud I proceed?

That’s th last supported OS version for iPhone 5. For what it’s worth, it was a very stable release on my iPhone 7 Plus previously. Shouldn’t be a problem.

But anyone tried for ip5?
