Is the RHB Shell Visa credit card a good proposition?

Currently I use the HSBC Amanah Mpower card. The cashback is just poor. Looking out for something new.

Any catch with the RHB Shell Visa card? Seems too good to be true the cashback %. (Note: I am referring to the regular cashback, NOT the special campaign cashback)

Very predatory. Lots of poor people will get shafted by such unscrupulous behaviour. I myself almost signed but usually I always read what’s on the page before signing. So thank god for that.

The cash back under this Campaign will be credited into the Eligible Cardholder’s RHB Cards account within four (4) to six (6) weeks from the end of the Campaign Period. The Eligible Cardholder will receive notification of the cash back, if any, through the respective RHB Cards monthly statement that follows the date of the crediting of the cash back.

However I saw previously many people already got the cash back. So which is it? Is the cashback reflected immediately?

Both the Shell Visa specific one (18% bonus Shell cashback) and the general RHB credit card promotion (10% cashback, until RM100).

Actually, I don't see anyone has got the Shell 18% cashback yet. Correct me if I am wrong but can see any screenshots in previous pages.

In any case, there is only a RM50,000 capping a month. At best, if you are lucky, only your first, and maaaybe second, transaction for the month will get the bonus 18% cashback. Quite shitty really.

Well this is pleasant surprise. He still got cashback for the last day of the first period (of Jan to Feb 2021), where capping was RM50k. Could be attributed to low number of cardholders tho.

Existing RHB customer (savings and loan accounts but no CC), will that person qualify for the 18% Shell cashback promo?

As mentioned by someone else earlier, my card has showed up in RHBnow 2 days after it was approved (i.e. approved Friday, appeared today). Now just need to go collect it from a branch. I asked them to send to house but they said cannot. That's disappointing since I have existing facilities with them.

Today "someone" opened a RHB Maxsure account under my name. I saw when I logged into RHB Now earlier. Called customer service and they said it was opened today at RHB HQ.

I said I NEVER applied for any such account. Then the customer service person said it could have been opened as part of a bundle. I did apply and get the RHB Shell credit card approved.

Did anyone else experience this. RHB Maxsave account opened without authorization after applying for RHB credit card?

I think no need to pay, as the cashback is already posted to your account.

I have activated my card and started using it, but the transactions don’t show up, be it online or in the app. However my credit limit decrease reflects my total spend.
