What you did in the 2nd visit to the branch for successful registration of RHB Now?

Collected my card and successfully created RHB Now profile but unable to setup secret questions.

Mobile phone number update takes one day as per cautionary note on the ATM printout slip.

30 minutes after card activation, received a call from RHB asking if interested to get the Cash Excess plan up to RM 15k for 12m @ 0%.

I was wondering if this is so coincident! If I didn't activate the card, the lady won't call me.

I told her that I was busy on the steering and asked her to call me back later.

She said she'll send me info via Whatsapp.

Some mentioned that it's for NTB.

I'm a NTB cardholder for RHB.

So what happened next? Walked away?

Just commit to a Xcess plan.

I asked the processing officer this plan eligibility. She said NTB cardholder and can only apply for once.

I also asked if she heard/knew any problem of RHB Now registration for credit card only user.
She said that usually user under this category needs to go to the branch to fill up some forms.
I told her that I was at the branch yesterday and the branch staff didn't mention anything about the form; only registering via ATM machine.
She said better call RHB CS to figure out.

I thought you got RHB Smart Account.

Seriously with the phone statement?

What is the reason for having the phone statement?

This sounds ridiculous and absurd.

It is the same mobile phone number that is used to receive the OTP/TAC for authorizing online/e-commerce transaction.

Shouldn't they request the mobile phone number statement during credit card application instead?

This is the first bank I encountered so far that request for mobile phone number.

Based on forms required in the email, EPF statement is one of the needed document on top of the bank account statement and pay slips.


For Employees / Salaried Earners
§ Application form (sign page 6, 8 & 10)
§ Photocopy of IC (front & back)
§ Employment Letter OR Confirmation Letter (If working below 1 year)
§ Latest EPF Statements (2020) download via i-KWSP
§ Latest 3 months Salary Slips OR 6 months Salary Slips for commission based income earners
§ Latest 3 months Salary Crediting Bank Account Statements (to include Account holder name & Account no) OR Latest 6 months Salary Crediting Bank Account for commission based income earners

Do manually is still acceptable as Affin also got the similar practice.
The absurd thing is to produce proof as the mobile phone number owner.

Requires TAC/OTP to proceed further.

I didn't call CS nor visit the branch for 2nd round.
