Guys, how is installment plan treated for cashback computation and spending threshold?
E.g. I purchase RHB motor insurance on a 6m installment plan. Will the monthly spend be the total sum, or 1/6th? Do I get cashback, and if so, on the total sum, or 1/6th? |

QUOTE(warren1111 @ Sep 30 2024, 10:17 PM) If I want to permanently increase credit card limit, still need to go to branch? RHB really shitty. They make me go branch then rejected because my card was at over 90% utilisation. Wtf? The limit given is so low already. Other banks no issue to increase credit limit. HLB can even do it online and get approval in an hour.Require what document? Else, can anyone tell me how to increase online. I checked RHB online, does not seems to have it. Thanks It's worse cause I have my RHB card for over 3 years and it's my primary bank for my savings and loan accounts. |

Guys, I have a question.
If I purchase Item X online on a 12 month 0% installment plan at the point of purchase, will this transaction be entitled to cashback and count towards the monthly spend? If yes, is it: 1. Counted as a lump-sum upfront 2. Counted 1/12th as a proportion inline with the monthly installment amounts |

QUOTE(ideaplus @ Feb 11 2025, 10:52 AM) Haha I've done it 3 times, every year I go. And I never get approved or any status update. Bloody idiots. I have a very low CL cause it was my first credit card many years ago. Silly bank, wanna give more business but they reject. Meanwhile, Maybank and HLB gives me more than 10x the credit limit. HLB is the best, I can increase on my own via their website. This post has been edited by contestchris: Feb 12 2025, 02:17 PM |

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Feb 14 2025, 11:41 AM) Hi, Same, but for BT. Does the monthly installment count as filled spend?I tried looking at past reply. But I think not so concrete on whether the cash excess instalment amount considered as filler spend (RM2500 min spend requirement) for RHB Shell Visa? Anyone have experience on this? Thank you. How about 0% EPP at the point of purchase. Is the installment consider filler? |

Requested for service tax rebate and got it immediately. I learned that RHB provides instant rebate for Tier 1 customers, while Tier 2 customers need to swipe 3x. I also learned that I had 200++ swipes in the past one year. Tier 1 = customers with more than 24 swipes per year Tier 2 = customers with less than 24 swipes per year JuneApprentice liked this post

QUOTE(Gabriel03 @ Jul 2 2025, 09:46 PM) Anyone managed to successfully get an approval for credit limit increase without applying for a higher tier card? Yes, I have tried twice now, even emailed the form. Always rejected. And this is despite RHB being my primary bank with salary crediting, ample CASA balance, housing loan, insurance and credit card. My credit limit is a pittance as it is based on my pay many, many years ago. I have tried going to the bank on 2 separate occassions to increase my credit limit but it was unsuccessful. This is despite the fact that my salary has increased significantly and all other banks that I hold credit card including MBB has approved an increase in credit limit. Can anyone share a contact in RHB who can help to handle the credit limit increment request without the need of going to the bank? The funny thing is, a bank that I have zero relationship with other than credit card - HLB, has allowed me to increase CL without much fuss. From RM8k around 4 years ago, my limit is now around RM60k. I have increased my limit at least 5 times in that period of time, and each time it was approved. My new card with MBB was approved with RM30k+ limit, as was my HSBC card. So yeah, RHB is living in the past. I will likely be stuck with the low limit until they can get the application process online. This post has been edited by contestchris: Jul 3 2025, 02:01 PM |

Alas, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
Anybody have suggestions on what are some other good cashback cards to consider? My setup is currently RHB Shell Visa (RM100 cashback per month), HLB Wise Visa (RM50) and Maybank Ikhwan Amex (RM50). With total spending per month > RM3.5k This post has been edited by contestchris: Jul 9 2025, 08:30 AM |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jul 9 2025, 08:39 AM) Depends on what you are spending. Actually my RHB was mostly for general online spending (non-ewallet). E.g. insurance, condo fees, bills, Shopee/Lazada purchase - these can easily add up to RM2k per month. So it was perfect for its use case. Anything else that comes close?#9734 If you used RHB-Shell Visa on Petrol & Groceries. Also have a look at RHB VS/WM. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jul 9 2025, 07:18 PM) RHB VS I can confirm though that Auto Debit can sometimes be included. E.g. Time Fiber autodebit is considered Utilities but TNB autodebit is not, for RHB Shell Visa at least. Not sure why the case.Payment mode override MCC (Eg ZCity I got Online CB instead of Departmental CB) I think it should apply to other RHB CC So PIN Entry / Contactless / Auto debit -> Utilities Online -> Online instead of Utilities Test it first, don't assume online payment to MyTNB will get Utilities CB. |

As much as I want to cut it, I still need to spend RM1k per month to maximize the RHB Smart bonus interest rates, at least until the end of the year.
