A friend of a friend of a friend has asked me to sign up for a beta test for a VOIP service. From what i heard, it a basically a monthly fees of RM 35 for a limited amount of minutes or a monthly fee with unlimited minutes to only a certain amount of destinations. i think its at RM50 - RM60. This is inclusive of a free ATA device. Got a few things interesting with the features and i might be signing up to test it out. Good price you reckon?

Im still waiting to see what are the countries that will be covered in the unlimited plan. from what i heard its mainly local lines and not much mobile lines. :S

what you guys think? worth the money?
well one provider i think will soon announces that the new rate for their voip service is 15cent/min for mobile & 10cent/min for fix ... juz have 2 wait 4 the announcement

g729 ... the quality will be a lill bit off if the lantency is high since it has some compression on it ... well 711 i think can use 3g if the bdwth is 100kps or more

711 runs on 64kbps .. no compression .. but kills off my bandwidth on my gateway

hey everyone,

I like to get a few recommendation of some VOIP from you guys.

I currently in Brunei (a small country btwn Sabah and Sarawak) and my gf is in Sarawak and I really like to call her almost every night for perhaps 3 weeks times. But it is expensive. If I am not wrong, calling from TM (Sarawak) to Brunei cost around RM15 per hour, and by end of the month, I probably be bankcrupt. If you are wondering about calling to Brunei to Sarawak, don't ever think about it. It is more expensive, 20Cents per min.

Got any idea? I currently looking into Skype Pro.
Oh btwn, I don't have broadband access in Brunei, but my gf do (1mb Streamyx). But I do have house and mobile phone here. It is my relatives house.

Hey guys.... check out www.frioh.com Something i have been looking for. A monthly charge VOIP service. Best part is that some of the countries which i intend to call is listed as FREE! This is recommended to me by a friend who is coming out with this product, and i have been a paying beta tester for a week now. Pretty good. I do make a lot of Australia Fixed calls and this helps me tonnes.

They have 2 plans. A limited minute plan RM44.95 and a unlimited one of RM74.95. They have 2 types of ATA's at the moment which they provide free depending on what internet connection you have. Good stuff. What do you guys think?

Have compared it with italk. Their mobile is 0.15 and fix line is free when you apply for subscription. Quality for Mobile is good and clear. No problem with voice. Can tend to get a bit laggy when my BT is up and downloading. lol

Hi all,

I am looking for a VOIP provider that offer cheap/low rate for local calls either home to home or home to mobile (Malaysia calls mainly).

Any recommendation?

Voice over Internet Protocol

Conventional phone line, voice is sent over the line, but now it is sent through the internet, simple as that
