Best is to get normal 2.5" SATA SSD for OS/programs to boost performance.

U need to register on-line to 2 yrs warranty for local set, else it default as 1 yr.

Suggest to extent ur warranty for local set to 3 yrs onsite warranty for peace of mind.

u can refer to post#2 for box identification on local set. u can also key in the serial No. in Lenovo site, if location is Malaysia, then is local set.
Beware and avoid US set (AP set) with no local warranty support.

most probably no, since ultrabay GT750m for Y410p/GT750m and Y400/GT750m might not compatible due to VBIOS.
Do double check with resellers.
Wonder where u get ultrabay GT750m for Y410p, it seems no where to be found.
The safer way is to get ultrabay GT750m for Y500/GT750m and mod it for Y400/GT750m.

u can nego with resellers for Y500 ultrabay GT750m/ 170w adapter on Y500/GT750m SLI model since they are clearing the old stock. Grab it fast before it run out of stock.

u can refer to the guide in chinese website on modding Y500 ultrabay GT650m for Y400/GT650m. Look at pics if dont understand.
imo, it will void the ultrabay GT750m warranty if u modding it.

which is hardly available anywhere.

Y510p/Y410p/GT750m users can pre-order the ultrabay GT750m(GT750M5p model)/170w adapter from u.

Y400 or Y410p users need to DIY modding the ultrabay GT750m meant for Y500 or Y510p respectively as per below guide.
It should work in theory, no harm to try it since ultrabay GT750m not available for Y400/Y410p till todate.
imo, warranty for ultrabay GT750m will be void if u mod it.

Nope, Y510p ultrabay GT750m (GT750M5p model) only can mod for Y410p/GT750m. u need to get Y500 ultrabay GT750m(GT750M5 model) from storm88 and mod it for Y400/GT750m.

Current Y510p cant install mSATA SSD or m.2 NGFF SSD.
u can only install normal 2.5" SATA SSD in HDD bay. Replace DVDrom with HDD in 9.5mm compatible caddy bay (ie. JEYI H123 model) from skycrawler. use DVD rom as external drive.

For SLI model, u can install faster 2.5" SATA SSD with OS/programs in HDD bay for faster response time, then
- use slower HDD as external drive or
- replace DVDrom with HDD in 9.5mm compatible caddy bay as mentioned earlier, use swappable GT750m or HDD according to ur needs.

Not recommend to use faster SSD as external with slower usb3.0 port.

The upcoming Y510p/Y410p single gpu hike price without noticable performance gain.
i7-4700MQ,GT755M(GDDR5),8GB,1TB,Win8.1@RM3399/RM3199 respectively.

Y510p SLI model price/spec remain the same.

As for ultrabay graphic card, take note the compatible model No. with ur laptop.
-Ultrabay GT750m(GT750M5 model) for Y500/GT750m
-ultrabay GT750m(GT750M5p model) for Y510p/GT750m
-ultrabay GT755m for Y510p/GT755m not yet available till todate. Perhaps later on after they clear ultrabay GT750M5p.

u can try modding Y510p ultrabay GT750m to fit in Y410p/GT750m, by theory u can get it work.

Y500/Y510p SLI model needs to wait for VBIOS to resolve SLI issues for Win8.1.

Y510p with extra numpad, bigger 15.6" full HD screen run cooler, good for full HD movie and photo editing. Add in the optional ultrabay gpu will turbo boost the gaming performance.

Y410p is smaller and lighter for mobility.
