But I like the design of the Drive 2 more. The H220 looks like a cheap toy.
*
With the weird hex design, yeah it kinda does.

QUOTE(Lucassss @ Oct 22 2013, 04:59 PM)
AFAIK AX=RX, except AX being thinner and more expensive.
Oh, XSPC makes a really nice desk mount for the AX too.  tongue.gif
*
Unfortunately that desk mount is sold separately. doh.gif

Apogee Drive II for LGA1150 = $144.95
H220 kit including radiator and fans = $139.95
What logic.  shakehead.gif

Pricing's quite unreasonable for the desk mount, but at least we have the option to have our rads sitting on our desks.
*
You got me thinking, so I went and dug up some info.

The H220 is actually NOT a apogee drive ii. It's just made to look like it.

ACTUALLY, the H220 is an MCP350 PWM version combined with a Swiftech Apogee XT block, which was rather good when it came out.

So yeah, I was wrong. Whoops. blush.gif

Thank you. Now I can justify paying more for the Apogee Drive II without looking like a massive idiot.  rclxms.gif
*
Yes, that works both ways now. I can stop telling people the h-series has a Drive II in it. doh.gif

The Drive II is a 35X and an Apogee HD! thumbup.gif - This I'm sure.

The 35X is a brilliant pump but I'm more interested in how the Drive II looks.
Heatsink on a waterblock? Yes please!  drool.gif
*
With changeable colour plates! lol. But be careful. Make sure it fits your mobo. The angled G1/4 ports are quite intrusive.

AX series and budget shouldn't come in the same sentence bro.  tongue.gif
EX series is quite good too, RX too hardcore for my taste.
*
AX is no where near budget. lol.

Isn't the EX the hybrid of the RX and RS?

Dude, you crazy. If you do bring in a MORA, have fun dealing with customs. They'll think it belongs in a car. laugh.gif

If you don't mind me being straightforward, I think it's not a wise plan. Having a rad at the bottom will make your rig look unorganized and messy.
If I were you, I'd take that money and buy a new case.
*
I second this suggestion. Especially if you're serious about aesthetics or good water cooling parts compatibility, a good case should always come first, unless you plan on modding out the case.

Just keep the coolant around.
Primochill tubing is the good stuff. One box of it can probably last you 3 years if you change your tubing once a year. Can ah? Pristine
*
Three years one box? I don't think my case can. LOL. depends la. haha. see how big your loop.

QUOTE(nohal @ Oct 22 2013, 07:06 PM)
thumbup.gif to this. I'm using distilled all the way. After EKWB Blood Red coolant stained everything, including my rad. Now, a sealed bottle of EKWB's coolant just left around for no reason. Can't sell 2nd hand because IDK the expiration date.
*
If anyone wants to buy coolant, get the XSPC EC6. It's based on Thermochill EC6 which is an excellent coolant. I plan on getting some for myself.

Now got new tubing in town. Actually not new, more like cheaper to get.

12mm OD/ 8mm ID, fits into bitspower fittings. Sold in 2M lengths.

Hi, I saw a lot of expert peoples here about watercooling. So I have some question about a watercooling rig that I built last 2 months.
I have a nice temp for my crossfire GPU but my I7 3770K still hit up to 80C even only OC to 4.2Ghz. Is it something wrong with my rig?
*
Pretty good looking rig you got going on there bro.

What's the flow of your loop like?

And it's possible that your CPU temps are high from paste issues or because of Intel's TIM

Here is the detail bro....pump>240 XSPC rad > CPU > 120 EKWB rad > GPU 1 & GPU 2 (parallel) > 240 EKWB rad > pump
From the temp monitor, I saw CPU TEMP almost same like GPU TEMP and the only thing I can't understand is CORE TEMP because always hit high TEMP especially CORE 1#....
*
Flow wise yours seem ok.

Try using OpenHardwareMonitor and see what your CPU package temperatures are like on idle, and heat test with LinX or Prime95. It's down to either your CPU having crazy temps, mounting issues or Intel fault. tongue.gif

My i7-3770K hits 81C 100% LinX load, stock settings on stock cooler in a 26C room. 50C when using 240 or 360mm rads with fan at 100%

Hmmmm....I don think is the mounting issues bro because I re-do it many times already, so now major problem is intel fault I think...So poor cry.gif
May I know ur I7 3770K performance in water cooling?
*
What paste are you using bro?

My i7-3770K (delid + CLU) hits 81C 100% LinX load, stock settings on stock cooler in a 26C room.

50C when using a 240mm or 360mm rads with fans at 100%, 100% LinX load, 26C ambient

Thermal paste was arctic MX4 for everything. Alphacool XT45 rads, Noiseblocker E-loop 2400rpm fans, koolance 380i, distilled water.

This is not my final set up though. I was just cooling my CPU for an experiment I'm doing.

I'm using Arctic Silver 5 as my thermal paste bro...Your result is awesome bro, 50C max for full load...wow!
U think how if I plan to change my Bitfenix Spectra Pro 120mm fan to other fan? Any good fan u recommend?
*
50C no gpu yet. haha

You know that Arctic Silver 5 requires burn in time to fully perform, right? There's much newer pastes that work better. Give prolimatech pastes a shot, or noctua paste. For some weird reason, noctua nth1 is selling cheaper than mx4. I nearly went and bought 2 syringes for myself but I still have pastes in my box so didn't buy. tongue.gif

For fans, totally depends on your budget. There's the typical Scythe GT recommendation and then now there's the super popular Corsair SP series and the newest entry, Swiftech Helix. For your radiators, you'll need static pressure fans since they have high FPI.

The rads I'm using can live without high static pressure. laugh.gif

Does it void your processor's warranty? Feel like doing it too.

It definitely voids warranty. lol.

I'm not sure if it works for Xeons though. Better check. I did it for mine coz Ivy and Haswells are all retarded TIM interfaced and not soldered.

Haha! That also not all of EK blocks have. Only some. The regular EK one is EcoTherm, I think.
