I am seeing a lot of nice food outlets in Shaftsbury square. Just drove pass there last week, and to my surprise there were several more new food outlets opened the last 1 month

PUTRAJAYA: Despite being a minister in the Prime Minister’s Depart­ment, Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar showed no signs of awkwardness when shopping at a market with his wife.

Reporters came across Abdul Wahid while on assignment to cover an event involving Putrajaya Umno Youth monitoring the prices of goods at the Presinct 8 Public Market here yesterday.

“I am a normal person, too. We must get the best value. I live in Cyberjaya. Every week, I shop at Dengkil because the fish and vegetables there are cheaper. Here (Precinct 8 Public Market), I buy small items, including bean sprouts,” he said.

Abdul Wahid said he always took note of the prices of items at the market and went to the ground to see for himself the actual situation.

“I keep in touch with the cost of living. When I was at Maybank too, if I go to Jakarta, or anywhere else, I’d go to the markets to understand the income and cost of living in Indonesia, as compared to Malaysia,” said the former Maybank chief executive officer.

According to Abdul Wahid, the role of the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association must be boosted to create better awareness among consumers to complement the role of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry. He said consumers must also be wise and spend prudently. — Bernama

Went to cyber for a quick look recently and noticed the following:-
1). Piling works for tamarind square has started.
2). Pangaea is on good construction progress. I think solstice tower is on level 6-7.
3). More F&B in shaft burry square.
4). D'Pulze mall - tunes hotel logo has been put on.
Commercial wise M&E works like ventilation has been installed.
5). SEG - can see the structural frame works for lepironia garden semi - D units from far (they blocked the main road).
6). Sepang city council - they still beautifying the building area. Compare to year ens 2012, the building looked old, paint faded, lousy landscape but now is still improving.
7). Cyberjaya mosque - infra works completed, piling works ongoing. Noticed that more trees and landscape have been planted along the main road.
8). More German cars in cyber nowadays (BMW, Audi and Benz) compare to 2012.
9). Nadayu 99 - site clearing completed.
10). Auto vile - piling started.

In general construction in cyber are still ongoing and on right track. Top priority now should focus on building up population. More population more commercials. More commercials more "ong". More "ong" then prop price will go up.

Cyber to be a city of her own? I guess still another 5 years to go. 2020 - conservatively haha (but it doesn't mean the price won't appreciate especially the landed).

The shopping mall in putrajaya - promenade at 8, any bro got her latest update? Tot should be completed by last year? Out of sudden very quiet....

i think quite deeply on this topic recently because my wife wanted to move to a place nearer to KLCC.

Recently, my colleague who's husband is working in oil n gas thinks that travelling from kajang to KL takes so much time and toll. i think they ended up paying almost 2k for toll gas and parking to work in KLCC amonth. leave house at 630 and reach office at 8am. So, they sold their kajang house for more than double the price they paid in 2006, and moved to one of the older condos behind avenue k. D'mayang for about 700-750psf for 1600sf condo. now both of them can walk back to eat lunch and dinner. they said, they dont save money but save about 3hours of time from staying in the car to spending time with kids.

Drawback? childcare is expensive. avenue k top level is charging about 2k, and most are charging about 1k or above per kid. good thing they have a maid.
