No,

I didn't purchase JR Pass,

I purchased 5days Hokkaido Rail Pass instead once I arrived New Chitose Airport Station @ JR Information Desk.

my Hokkaido Rail Pass :
[attachmentid=3739780]

This ticket cost me RM6xx.

Your 14days lagi expensive..  sweat.gif

You answer actually can find from here : HERE

Limited Express Super Hokuto is under JR Company,

I find no reason why cannot take it.
but one thing I don't understand,

why you need take flight from Tokyo to Sapporo since you wanted to purchase 14days JR Pass?  blink.gif

It will end up more expensive on transportation fee..
*
14 days JR Pass will cost me RM1450.

thanks for the link really helpful.

I thought LTD EXP is not under JR and route Hakodate-Sapporo will cost me more than RM256 and consume a lot of times. Flight tix to Sapporo is only RM180 and takes only 2hrs for Kansai, Osaka. That's why I choose fly.

I'm not spend all 14 days at Hokkaido. maybe just 5 days there. Sapporo-Otaru-Asahikawa.

hi there japanese sifus!

yesterday was the airasia sale and i got myself a ticket to Osaka next year on December. Will be traveling for 17 days.

On the first week, I plan to go to places like Fukui, Fukuoka, and Tokyo and lastly back to Osaka.

Do u think i shud get the JR pass? its only going to be for one week, but I am unsure if i could better get by if i only purchase the per trip train ticket. I also realized that there is a normal and green pass. Is it that important for me to get the Green pass?

Someone also suggested me to take the bus. How feasible would that be?

Sorry but i really have no experience riding either long distance train nor buses. Last time i went to tokyo was 2 years ago, and it was only tokyo.

lol. next year december next year only you ask lar. who knows things might have changed next year biggrin.gif

I'm aware of that 4 seasons thingy.

Some place is meant to go at certain season in order to appreciate the nature scenery.

Osaka is not Region...Region is Kansai.

Osaka just a City inside Kansai region.

Actually yesterday I have just bought a five day trip to Sapporo/Otaru from Tokyo, travelling near Christmas period. Havent really plan out which place to visit, but it will be a leisure trip for me walking around the canal and enjoying the cold and atmosphere.

Booked KUL-KIX and HND-KUL, end of Nov 2014. (1 week)

Will need help from sifus here again. Should be no problem with Tokyo, but first time going to Osaka/Kyoto.

No proper itinerary yet as it is 1 year away doh.gif but just some rough question.

1. For Osaka-Kyoto-Nara, it is a good or bad idea to set Osaka as the base and travel daily?

2. Where to keep luggage at Nara?

3. From Osaka/Kyoto to Tokyo, it it worthwhile to buy JR pass for the Shinkansen or just fly with Peach?

Thanks
