I take it this is not your finalized itineraries especially 4th, 5th and 6th coz it looks dull and there are more to tokyo than just ginza and akiba, but to each his own.

If you are not extravagant, you can get by easily with 5,000 Yen in food, 1,000 Yen in transportation, plus whatever expenses you wish to spend. I brought only 2.500MYR for 3 weeks and spent about 5,000 Yen a day for food/transport and still have alot. (I couchsurfed for couple of days and go touring with the locals.)
*
I just did the math 3 weeks each day 5000 yen = RM3465.... tongue.gif

dont mind me... researching forums and planning my trips to Japan next year..

Haha, your calculation is admirable  biggrin.gif

I didn't spend much  for lodging as I stayed with the locals who hosted their shelter.

Hi Guys,

Just bought my ticket from 15 May 14 to 25 May 14.

Initial Planning is Osaka -> Kyoto -> Tokyo -> Osaka(Flight)

Tokyo 4 days(Staying at friend house)

I want to ask since I'm 10 days travel only.

My planning was Osaka take normal train to Kyoto to play. Then on the remaining 7 days of my trip only active JR pass to travel other places.

My question is how much is just normal train ticket from Osaka to Kyoto?

For info...Hyperdia start outdating.  Server have't been updated.  Cannot trust 100%.  Can used as guide roughly have to prepare how much and what time.

thanks.

another question, is it worth that I use normal train ride to travel along osaka -> kyoto for other places which is nearby, then only activate the 7 days JR pass or str8 purchase the 14 days JR pass. Because I heard some railway doesn't use JR pass and Kyoto is mostly about bus.

Hello. Gonna go Osaka with my gf next year (around April-May). If we were to go for a budget trip for around 4-5 days, how much it would cost for each of us ya (everything excluding the flight ticket)?
And I always see people went Kyoto when they went Osaka... Is it recommended to do so (because it's nearby etc.)?  smile.gif
*
agree on RC, end of april and beginning of may is golden week in Japan. Luckily my friend in Tokyo told me that before I book my flight, I'm going on End of May which still quite ok~

Hi, I'm going for vacation in Japan for 9D8N and I'm holding biometric passport with embedded microchip which compliant with ICAO standards.

As stated in the Embassy of Japan website I’m eligible for visa exemption. Do I still need to obtain the Certificate of Eligibility Holder?

Kindly advice. Thanks.

Hi, can i know the whole procedure to check in from malaysia to japan?
anyone face before that the chip cant be detected?
*
Malaysia passport with biometric a.k.a the chip, just go to the air port, slide in the passport slot, finger print, and done you are out of malaysia... <-- MAS procedure
as for Air Asia, just give to the counter and they will check for you... should be like that from what I recall.

once arrive, (taking my Taiwan Trip as an example), during your flight or end of your flight, the stewardess will hand in a temporarily visa paper to fill in. Just fill in the details, make sure to remember the first hotel you are staying or your friend house as it required to be fill in the visa form.

thats it.. simple as that. tongue.gif

Different countries have different immigration procedures so I would refrain from using your experience with Country X to give advice to someone travelling to Country Y.
*
well this is the same procedure when I travel to Nepal during n years ago.. I assume it is all the same for visa free country... LOL My bad sorry~ cry.gif cry.gif

Because visa free country usually need to fill up form unless some exceptions. As for Japan not sure because recently just exempted from visa, but my friend went there few months back and he need to fill up a small visa form as I mentioned.. Better safe than sorry as I have experience being halt on the immigration counter refrain from entry just because I forgot my 1st hotel name that is required to fill in. Luckily I had every literary saved and printed out, if not I also don't know how.. haha tongue.gif chill is alright. smile.gif

AirAsia X to fly to Nagoya from March

The low-cost carrier would commence flights to Chubu Centrair International Airport from Kuala Lumpur beginning March 17, it said in a press statement yesterday.

In conjunction with the launch, it is offering all-in one-way deals from as low as RM199 on economy class and RM699 on premium category to Nagoya, located just 50 minutes from Osaka and one hour and 40 minutes from Tokyo via train.

Bookings are available online from today to Nov 24, for travel between March 17 and Aug 5.
