next year June. so i will be wasting 6 months if i renew my passport.  biggrin.gif

Not wasted if you do over the counter. Immigration will add 5 years to your passport expiry date not 5 years from the day u renew. But if u renew using the machine then will cut off from the renewal date instead of expiry.

Hi guys, any recommended Hakone hot spring spot ? I searching on website and found this http://www.yunessun.com/english/

This is the one the largest and popular hotspring in hakone ?
*
QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 30 2013, 11:56 PM)
Hi, that one is more like a theme park and the hot spring is not authentic (from what i read).

Check out Tenzan, it is an outdoor hot spring
*
Yes, Yunessun is an onsen theme park and not authentic. But this could be the only place in Japan for hot spring without being naked

1. See first page of this thread. There are some midnight transport alternatives. But i played safe and stayed at Toyoko Inn Haneda which provides free bus shuttle to-n-fro airport

2. U still can take other bullet trains to Osaka with the Japan Rail Pass.

3. Last time I went without Japan Rail Pass using Hakone Free Pass instead. I'm not sure how to go if u using Japan Rail Pass.

4. Tokyo city area mostly covered by the Japan Rail Pass

Disney need full day, half day not enough. I think u should arrange Hakone and Mt Fuji together cos they are closer. Not go Mt Fuji then back to Tokyo then go Hakone later.

Actually my plan is to travel by my own without tour..

Around 10-12 days to cover Osaka, Tokyo and Hokkaido..

Hokkaido snowing period is differrent from Osaka / Tokyo ?

What is shibazakura? care to enlighten? Thanks ! smile.gif
*
Aiyo. Tak tau google? http://www.shibazakura.jp/eng/
Hokkaido is north and weather is different
10-12 days maybe quite rush cos Osaka and Hokkaido are far apart and Tokyo in the middle. Maybe u can take their domestic flight. U read more at japan-guide.com and plan ur itinerary

Hi estcin,

Was thinking to stay in Osaka or Tokyo 5-6 days and take a local flight to hokkaido and spend another 5-6 days over there.. Not planning to take the train as will waste almost one whole day travelling..

Thanks for enlighten me the shibazakura.. Apparently from the website it starts at Apr.. so hope still can get a glance of it.. very beautiful smile.gif Thanks for sharing !

Would want to avoid some snows due to kiamsiap buying those jackets and stuff tongue.gif .. So if no more snow will be around May? Hokkaido May still snowing?
*
May already spring, of course no more snow. Flight from Tokyo to Hokkaido need minimum RM800 to and fro. AirDo and SKymark fly from Haneda. Jetstar Japan and AirAsia Japan fly from Narita. You should try snow and ski one day. It's special and cannot be experienced here in Malaysia

Going to Tokyo this Raya Puasa.

Can anyone share whether they can make it on time to catch the keikyu line, or Express bus to Tokyo since AAX flight lands at 11pm, and dont know whether we can make it to Shinjuku Hotel in Tokyo by 1 am.

Do we have to change trains ? Is the taxi price of 8000 Yen from Haneda to Tokyo based on per person or per taxi?

From experience in Tokyo, which places worth to visit for around 3-4 days, and good eating places suitable for Malaysian taste.

Thanks.

any idea on the budget that i need to allocate if i plan to go to Tokyo for about 5 days? exclude flight

RM30 per meal (normal food, not instant noodles), and accommodation can range from RM50 (dorm) to RM150-200 (normal hotel). Transport expenses depends where u go. Disneyland RM200++
