yeah but heat and noise are built-in for machines with high-end gaming specs. sorry but i have to say g75/750 are not in this range, always. the key difference between asus g-series and other brand is cooling (if you must put them in the same group). to achieve that asus decides to cut performance down.

there are a number of plus points if you compared them side-by-side. let's face it: these days, asus g-series is overpriced. yeah it's positioned to be at the mid range; however the price point is not at the mid range.

as for the throttling part, from what i've read, that particular unit at anandtech.com might have issues (they said bad paste job?). the results from that test were actually different from those posted by other sites.

to me, i am happy with mid-range machines with good cooling (i don't game much now; i just need cpu upgrades). but it's not for many of us here.

hmm.. is that G55 easily remove HDD?

yes. take off the back cover and you will know.

cmon... i can upg hdd to ssd(except if in m14xr2 )... and i am newbie... but cpu/gpu is next level...

how about G750JH >? different level too come with Gtx780m and 3D ...llool

edit: asus G750 series is not targeted for modders, but for those who require a device that works out the box gaming notebook..

hmm yeah you right... but G750JH out and i have the budget i be very interested to purchase G750jh with intel i7 4700m and GTX 780m , i hear g750jh come with 2xMsata and only one sata hdd...

Upgraded G53SX boot drive to Plextor M5s. It is now a happy Machine except GTX 560M gets 7.1 rating.

Hey everyone ! A bit problem with my G55VW here..

Every time I fire up my laptop then after several hours (sometimes not even 1 hour) my WiFi suddenly lost connection . I didn't do anything ! Here's a couple of screenshot :





The system tray shows a normal icon that I'm not connected to any network , when choosing which network to connect suddenly there's no network to choose AT ALL . I've updated my drivers . Any advice ?

U using Win8? Is that driver compatible issue on win8 coz i using win7 for G55VW dun have this kind of problem.

I used Win8 since January but only this month I've encounter this problem

did this happen after you have updated your driver? which version is the driver now? intel or atheros?

good for you ssd is still the most significant component upgrade so far.

I use the default Intel Centrino Wireless N2230 . Seems that the driver is updated to the latest version before and after I encounter this problem . As I mentioned before , I didn't do anything !

all laptops works without the need whether to mod or not~ lol no such thing as other gaming laptop have to assemble once u receive the item~ well that's as far as i know la. Coz never heard stories of laptop have to be assembled (from scratch) when we buy it.. not even HDD needs to be plugged in.. all out of box straight working
