QUOTE(horns @ Jun 13 2013, 05:03 PM) raymondtong94, yeah a nice video JH is a reserved naming when the G series laptop comes with AMD GPU. Refer back to G73JH... and thanks to tommytan1985 for giving us the clues on their latest pricing, too. still not sure if there is a jh coming to malaysia (it's a very slim hope :/) |

QUOTE(horns @ Jun 13 2013, 08:25 PM) er.. no. you can check the specs at http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G750JH/ dem, they used it for nvidia graphic? I don't think Asus is going back to use High-End AMD Graphics anymore.it's nvidia 780m this time. |

Upgraded G53SX boot drive to Plextor M5s. It is now a happy Machine except GTX 560M gets 7.1 rating.

Basically Asus tried too hard(wasted the extra effort on innovation) , that almost all their g series are difficult to access to certain ram slots,m-sata(g55) and hard disk drive(on g53/73).
Note, I may not be able to list all down. But i did partially teared down my g53 to install the SSD cos its been locked down from front and back. |

QUOTE(yumin1991 @ Aug 14 2013, 01:34 PM) well i wish i can show you the dialog at here but i cant..cause i forget to remove the HDD at the ODD bay when the win8 is installing at SSD..end up both drive go disaster..now i cant even switch anything on That's disaster produced from bad mistake. By, right u should be able to identify which drive to install win 8 from the capacity.I simple don't understand how u can doomed both drives. Even for my G53, SSD installation I did check which drive is the primary HDD with the stock Win 7 Preinstalled. before installing my SSD. |

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 21 2014, 08:32 AM) some findings about this g56jr. not sure if this is true Yes, proprietary external subwoofer on the left side.[attachmentid=3824707] [attachmentid=3824708] [attachmentid=3824709] [attachmentid=3824710] edit: uh? weird configurations. there is an external subwoofer for this model? I think they are stress as MSI GE40 is priced cheaper and Gigabyte P34G did rage a good slim notebook war. I kinda like Gigabyte P34G. Easy access to the fans for cleaning. |

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 21 2014, 10:29 AM) i thought asus are proud of their design team. look at that air vent :/ (it's like clevo) And Asus yet to learn their lesson to make fans accessible for maintenance.i am also looking for a slim notebook with more juice at later time. (solely for office use only; no gaming) gigabytes and msi are on my list too. now asus is here yeah p34g is really easy to maintain. everything (including msata and wifi) are accessible! |

QUOTE(AceCombat @ Jan 21 2014, 02:56 PM) Hi, sorry if i asked something irrelevant, Hi Former Sis OC Legend, about that the flash drive that you load the bios file is it NTFS or Fat32? iinm, they highly recommend to flash with the drive as Fat32. Seems to me that the board has been killed in the process as you mention battery not charging, even with charger plugged in the laptop wouldn't boot up.my customer got a used G53SX and he updated the BIOS to the latest version 209. The update was successful and shut down after 2 seconds, then it never wake up anymore, on batt, on AC or both, it never comes back anymore. I suspected a bricked BIOS, but i have not much experience in ROG laptop, any ways i can settle this problem? When i press power on button, no respond at all. The battery is not charging anymore too, no lights even charger plugged in |

QUOTE(AceCombat @ Jan 21 2014, 03:24 PM) I was not the one who flashed the BIOS, as what my customer told me, he pasted the BIOS in D Drive and using utility built-in in BIOS to flash it, the utility read the ROM file in D drive Well, as usual No post. Something is wrong with the mainboard. Very Fragile for a laptop.I guess this is flashed via NTFS, I would never do like this, I always use thumbdrive. I called to service centre, they quoted RM550 for this corrupted BIOS, I think they quoted this by changing the motherboard. Wah, dont say like that, me is no legend, I don't think a BIOS flashing will kill the board, maybe later i try to dismantle this laptop and remove the CMOS battery see whether it helps or not I got friend who can fix this issue, but I have to confirm it is corrupted BIOS. |
