BTW asus g56jr comes with the old GTX760M. opt for something with GTX860 thats the newer maxwell architecture. or higher end keplers 870M. 880M is not within the budget probably~. 780M don't know how cheap can they go now since the GTX880M is released

you can also take a look at lenovo y50/y40 they are beast as well but the heat might be a setback except you're going to sit in aircondition room most of the time

yeah i guess it's the el-cheapo monitor display that they bundled with. if only can change can opt for somethign better or just connect it to an external monitor like i did. or TV for that matter~

all drivers are up to date? coz there is usb drivers as well maybe check that too? dunno if usb 3.0 would have the not enough power problem as well. hopefully not

nice temp! check with game probably max at 80C for gpu if not lower. i bet it's lower! lol

for g750jz dunno if it will come or not to malaysia. Now i doubt they will come to malaysia even since how they never bothered even to sell any g750jh here in malaysia. =.=" But we keep on hoping Although on asus brochure for pc fair recently they did mention about 880M (probably and most likely marketing gimmicks~)

and we are ready to embrace for the worse~! lol. g55 is obsolete~ lol. although i still think it's one of the most bought Asus g-series laptop~ compared to other models.

its my one and only machine.. am proud of it! lol. til i get the next machine this is my beast~ although it is more like a tamed beast now with GTx 8xx out t here~ lol but other than that since i don't do having gaming nowadays g55 has work flawlessly~

I believe msata port and normal sata port is different. so it could be 2 msata 2 hdd slot. so all together 4 u can do raid. thats the basic idea i guess for having 2msata and 2 hdd slot.

But it's actually pointless since the airflow is from behind, if u can find something to suck that air out from there that would help but i have no problem without any because the cooling system is good enough combined with a decent thermal paste that is

Oh sorry boss. Maybe im wrong. Have u disassembled the g55 ? Coz when i did. I dont see the airflow from the hdd would help alot. With or without cooling pad it has the same temperature. Btw i also dont have any aircond. The fan behind only blows for the cpu n gpu heatsink. But the cover from hdd kena cover or isnt flowing thru til the back. Of course got hole or leak abit but it doesnt help much as much as u expected it to be. Maybe im wrong. Or wrong totally
