.. only if they have those features in g-series. not gonna happen anytime soon.
no, i said about ram disk feature in desktop mobo, using existing system ram. http://rog.asus.com/technology/republic-of...ations/ramdisk/

to be frank, it's fine if they want control, as long as we users are open for options. however the key thing now is whether they can manage their service centers properly. without sc, all are impossible :/
*
meh did i read it wrongly before? lol. But if they manage to do it on desktop mobo they should be able to implement it on laptop mobo aswell. would help so much smile.gif

haha but now its posibbruu with asus.

Spec quite good. Is it a ROG series? no?
*
Its a g series notebook. So yeah its rog smile.gif . Thats the refresh for g55 i believe since it came with gtx760 a slight improvement towarda our almost extinct gtx660 lol

Ill edit the front page of this thread to let others know about g750 and the newer g56"

Although if u look at the specs for n56 and g56 its too damn similar. Difference i believe (correct me) is n56 comes with optimus while g56 does not

Sorry, If it isn't a ROG G(aming) series why am i posting in asus G-series thread? Frankly speaking that's a stupid question to ask.
Apparently it looks like N56JR sprayed black, with bang and ofusion audio and malaysiaitfair reported it with IPS FHD screen for this G56JR.

Here's the source for the G56JR Specs for front page reference.
*
thanks for the info. i'll put it up ASAP. i see that post also only on 11th of march. So basically the retail price is MYR200 more ex than previous G55 (at 3999) wow.. just for the external sonicmaster sub?

There are some reasons for people to doubt the fact that G56JR is a ROG laptop. I follow any news regarding this model for 1 month already. Although it's a SO-CALLED ROG laptop, but:

1. The spec and the body seem like N56JR! (If you want me to rate, I will say 80%, because the internal structure is not yet confirmed.)

2. Where is the ASUS ROG "trademark" stealth (or military jet) design for ALMOST all ROG laptops? Why G56JR does not have this kind of design? I don't remember that ROG laptops have "plain" design like this, where is the shape which when almost every people look at it, they know it's ASUS ROG?

BTW, you know what... I'll probably aim for this, as the "brand" really foolishly attracts me.

The difference between N56JR and G56JR I know so far:
1. G56JR has IPS screen.
2. Blu-Ray Drive? (I need double confirm regarding this)
3. Red backlit adjustable keyboard and touchpad (this feature attracts me a lot!)
Anything else?
Just want to find out some reason that it's appropriate to spend additional RM200 for this.

Don't really expect that the internal hardware are user-accessible, but I'm prepared for it. Thanks to you guys for motivating me. biggrin.gif
*
See the name also just change from G56JR to N56JR. i don't know what they are trying to achieve. although from past reading *i myself am not so 100% sure* the n56 is well has abit higher temp compared to G-series model as they design the G-series to have better cooling system (sort of trademark can say)

also the design hm. I wonder why, even the G750 have stealth look design. but this G56 is such abit on disappointment~ no jet fighter at all lol

blu-ray drive usually is for 3D models. don't know if they increase the initial retail price just to give blu-ray which i likely will take out and opt for caddy to put in 2nd HDD~ lol

red backlit? not bad, sort of like lenovo~ lol,

I was thinking, is G55VW ac adapter easy broken?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  If we use laptop more than 10 hour a day will decrease its lifespan?
*
nope not really. actually mine is not 10 hours a day. its 24/7~ i just sometimes reboot when i feel slight lag. then leave it on for days again~ even i go out for hours it's still on. lol. so far the adapter still going strong *FINGERS CROSSED! i no $$ now!*

Hello...did someone know the new G750 laptop with gtx800m series when will available in Malaysia?? biggrin.gif
*
i'm not sure. even the previous G750-JH didn't came in. only the G750-JX that comes with GTx770M came in malaysia. Few rumours fly by that G750-JH do have in malaysia but don't know if it's local set or international ( i believe it's from other country ) and one problem is warranty.

But let's keep our hopes up #prayforG750JZ rclxms.gif

I think I saw it from monthly catalog, it stated coming soon only... no price given in the catalog... amazon is selling at $2499... this thing won come cheap like current g750 selling in our market... =/ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IAACWH6/ref=dr...g=dradisplay-20

here is the latest product guide http://www.asus.com/event/2014/my/productg...PG_March_NB.pdf
PG20 u will see g750jz & g750jm
*
Asus in other countries have 780M and and now the latest GTx880M also~ G750JH and G750JZ respectively. It's not that it won't come cheap or pricey~ but it DIDN'T come at all which is quite frustrating.

from the catalog you see clearly on earlier page and the page 22 "Maximum gaming GTX780M" but at the bottom box right under that. only got 1 variant AGAIN. HAHA damn izzit? still the same ol same ol G750JX~

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 14 2014, 09:46 AM)
i know but before i go for repairs like that i think i will do this first, because i still cannot believe the laptop will not boot after such a short time period of use.
wow it really comes this time?! let's see how much it will cost us first then decide biggrin.gif if it's ok compared to putting new 8gb 880m as replacement for 680m in my r4 that is.
*
don't be fooled by the catalogue. see carefully. below in the box says G750JX and G56JR only.. i was like shocking.gif then cry.gif coz when i see carefully. it just stated for G750JH specs but didn't say it WILL bring in or in the catalogue itself never state model that will come with GTX780M lol

whatever it is. i still think that G750JZ won't even come to malaysia thus the #prayforG750JZ lol. well if someone here needs it tho~ i don't know if i can afford to fork out that much~ with premium price like that but not so good after sales service + design i don't know if now they allowed internal parts to be easily accessed~ *important gaming design*

i was surprised about your bro's. I have g55 for about 2 years also. Lets see if it dies on time smile.gif

One question though: have you tried to change the cmos battery?
*
i thought without cmos still can switch on? only the bios setting will reset and won't be save upon next boot up~ if no ram i've heard so or faulty ram (but usually will go blue screen only) the only usual explanation of laptop died is mobo died or brick died or power button spoil

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 14 2014, 12:23 PM)
i check their product catalogues from time to time. normally what they put in the catalogue will appear in local market. yeah most of the time it's a single variant haha! as for the confusions after close observations, hehe,. i think it's typical they give misleading info, except for the model numbers.
it does no harms trying, because he clearly has the choice to test it out now.

the incident is weird to me because it's hard to explain why models older than that are still alive and kicking (have a longer lifespan i mean). if that means recent models have definite lifespan of 2+ years due to manufacturing process changes that we are not aware of (the worst scenario is that internal components can only last for 3 years max), asus laptops really have no re-sell value at all after purchase.
*
haha.. the REALLY misleading info!. see at the small box. almost cannot see~ people who blindly read will see that WA asus malaysia also brings in GTX780M haha. vmad.gif vmad.gif

haha true true. then can let us know how is the outcome~ if it's just CMOS battery problem. then its good news. coz it's relatively super cheap~

ACer laptop have a lifespan of 5 years. this one is from year 2008 - 2009 models~ and i'm looking at 8 acer laptop that died within that time frame or spoil~ (keyboard some keys not working. touchpad sometimes work sometimes doesn't. Ghost mode is on *laptop simply type by itself and won't stop until u smashed the ESC button then stop*) that kind of thing. 2008 models *including my laptop* died on 2013~ cannot switch on, then my 2 cousin using almost similar acer model died on 2014 coz when i ask them they say bought on 2009~

Hopefully with asus it will not be the case~ if not i better prepare to dump this and opt for something else before it died on me! haha

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 14 2014, 01:28 PM)
misleading info is everywhere: there is no such intel cpu as 4700qm la (soldered models end with hq; unsoldered models end with mq); the jz model comes with 880mx instead of 880m la; and the list goes on and on. so the catalogue is best to use as reference only. go find out more when the laptops are here.

talking about acer laptops they are actually durable with proper usage. i still have my old acer laptop that run well (6 years dy; damn slow) wear and tear surely happen. (screen is good; keyboard is functional but I broke one key when I did clean up previously hehe. luckily it's still easy fix)
*
haha. well sure are. sometimes it's a typo and thus people quoting it will be left with deception~ but wow 880mx ah? 8gb DDR5? beast. that could run 4k reso without having to burden the gpu that much~

6 years hopefully die now~ so that prove that acer will die within that time frame~ hahaha jokin2 notworthy.gif my old acer i just tear it down once coz i wanted to do abit of hardmod~ coz cannot OC. then when i read through AW is using the similar chipset~ so if i could mod that to become AW chipset abit then probably i can OC it~ haha. but then it still go strong for 2 years before it finally died~ (not completely just cannot go through acer logo will auto shutdown and when i simply touch the circuit inside got through acer logo but cannot by pass windows logo will also auto shutdown~) in this case i swap ram, hdd, cmos i cabut then put in new battery coz i see the bios also cannot save ledy so batt also change. still to no avail. but other acer laptop that died along within that time frame never kena kacau hardware. just use for movies and some light office work (type type~) and also to transfer (vice versa) via phones~

I look at some G56JR photos and straight away think that it is N56JR with some deep color design, because the form factor looks exactly the same, even the speaker grill looks quite similar. Never mind, hope Asus comes out with new 800M series line ROG
*
they did. G750JZ. accompanied by GTx880MX and price is around 10k~ lol well that is after conversion from AUD3XXX

AUD is Austrailia Dollar right? I think laptops sold in austrailia quite expensive compared to in US, this is what I read from notebookreview forum.

By the way, is it GTX880MX a new card? So far only GTX880M based Maxwell
*
abit ex. but still the price range of asus is of a premium price laptop~ lol.

no gtx880m and gtx870m is based on higher end kepler architecture. 860 850 til 820 is based on maxwell architecture. only that 880 and 870 carries the signature of maxwell of battery boost~ lol maxwell architeecture hasn't reached it's mature state yet. so they still rebrand the 780m~ or maybe it was too ex? dont know . but for some reason 870m and 880m still is keplers~ lol

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 14 2014, 01:56 PM)
800mx with 4gb vram la. I think 4gb is good enough.
*
oh =.= a bit of dissapointment. but hey! its 880m 15% faster than 780m lol

Arr my mistake, I should say 880M is still Kepler.  rclxub.gif

For me, 780M is enough, 880M is a little bit too strong to handle. So far no gaming benchmark for 870M and 880M.
*
haha no problem. i also at first straight assume that all 8XX is keplers just a rebrand of 7XX series since when i see 880 and 870 is based on keplers. i was wrong too. lol .had to do some readings on it~

if got the chance to go for 880. why not. there will be support, benchmarks and lots of stuff in the near future. nvidia never disappoint us. especially their high end gpus. especially GTX X80. looking backwards their 680m also still going strong biggrin.gif

mad.gif vmad.gif they promised jet fighter! mad.gif vmad.gif

anyways i wonder if samurai can cut through alien ship or atleast dragons? lol~ where i believe atleast jet fighter can be on par with dragons and alien ship~

jet fighter with their guided missile against fire/ice/wind/earth dragons against alienship~ lol but samurai? seriously? where do samurai stand against a dragon and alienship! shocking.gif doh.gif
