Sorry, If it isn't a ROG G(aming) series why am i posting in asus G-series thread? Frankly speaking that's a stupid question to ask.
Apparently it looks like N56JR sprayed black, with bang and ofusion audio and malaysiaitfair reported it with IPS FHD screen for this G56JR.

There are some reasons for people to doubt the fact that G56JR is a ROG laptop. I follow any news regarding this model for 1 month already. Although it's a SO-CALLED ROG laptop, but:

1. The spec and the body seem like N56JR! (If you want me to rate, I will say 80%, because the internal structure is not yet confirmed.)

2. Where is the ASUS ROG "trademark" stealth (or military jet) design for ALMOST all ROG laptops? Why G56JR does not have this kind of design? I don't remember that ROG laptops have "plain" design like this, where is the shape which when almost every people look at it, they know it's ASUS ROG?

BTW, you know what... I'll probably aim for this, as the "brand" really foolishly attracts me.

The difference between N56JR and G56JR I know so far:
1. G56JR has IPS screen.
2. Blu-Ray Drive? (I need double confirm regarding this)
3. Red backlit adjustable keyboard and touchpad (this feature attracts me a lot!)
Anything else?
Just want to find out some reason that it's appropriate to spend additional RM200 for this.

i know but before i go for repairs like that i think i will do this first, because i still cannot believe the laptop will not boot after such a short time period of use.

i check their product catalogues from time to time. normally what they put in the catalogue will appear in local market. yeah most of the time it's a single variant haha! as for the confusions after close observations, hehe,. i think it's typical they give misleading info, except for the model numbers.
it does no harms trying, because he clearly has the choice to test it out now.

the incident is weird to me because it's hard to explain why models older than that are still alive and kicking (have a longer lifespan i mean). if that means recent models have definite lifespan of 2+ years due to manufacturing process changes that we are not aware of (the worst scenario is that internal components can only last for 3 years max), asus laptops really have no re-sell value at all after purchase.

misleading info is everywhere: there is no such intel cpu as 4700qm la (soldered models end with hq; unsoldered models end with mq); the jz model comes with 880mx instead of 880m la; and the list goes on and on. so the catalogue is best to use as reference only. go find out more when the laptops are here.

talking about acer laptops they are actually durable with proper usage. i still have my old acer laptop that run well (6 years dy; damn slow) wear and tear surely happen. (screen is good; keyboard is functional but I broke one key when I did clean up previously hehe. luckily it's still easy fix)

I look at some G56JR photos and straight away think that it is N56JR with some deep color design, because the form factor looks exactly the same, even the speaker grill looks quite similar. Never mind, hope Asus comes out with new 800M series line ROG

800mx with 4gb vram la. I think 4gb is good enough.

Arr my mistake, I should say 880M is still Kepler. 

For me, 780M is enough, 880M is a little bit too strong to handle. So far no gaming benchmark for 870M and 880M.

Well I actually like the way ASUS promote their ventilation system and the "slanted" palm rest within the jet fighter design.
However, I see none of these features in G56JR..... Guess have to wait for professional review.

No plans to upgrade to g750 jh/z in short term, if i wana play good game, i play at my desktop instead. Laptop gaming is a very heavy investment for me

desktops are relatively cost-effective with more juices. after playing for a while with one, i now have a better idea how to build one with my requirements.
