*
i just happened to update my drivers very frequently. except for bios, the drivers are fine to play with. worst comes to worst we just revert the restore point, or perform a clean install.

Yes But with the graphic card specifications, I don't think you're gonna want to connect it to a 4k display unless you wanna watch it slideshow.

about the picture quality, its the matter of display panels (glossy vs. matte). also, once you're used to the 3dscreen with 120Hz, it's hard to go back. that's one of the very reason why i didn't pick up the g75jx in the first place.

the noisy part is common for gaming laptops, especially with high-end cpu/gpu. 70c is not that bad for a 780m if it's at room temperature. if it's not.. well.. it's better to give it a good thermal paste, clean up the fans/vents regularly, and use a cooling pad.

yes you correct... haha i tested it found out, me like glossy then matte...  hurry up Asus sell me G750JH!!!

x
my msi CPU/gpu thermal allredy been replace with coolmaster artic silver thermal... should i start doin it once a week now?> lol (yes i can dissemble my notebook and i am noo biggrin.gif b)
*
haha a glossy screen does give us 'better' colors.

i have to stare at the screen for a long time during work. my eyes hurt fast and i get tired very soon when i used a 60Hz.

--

no you do not need to do the cleanup every week lol! if the environment around your laptop is dusty, once a month. here i do the cleanup once every 3 to 6 months (3 months are too frequent for me but sometimes i am just itchy).

QUOTE(tonberry_ax @ Aug 12 2013, 11:01 AM)
he got a non 3D laptop previously yea i forgot that too... 3D gaming laptop got better advantage than non-3D model in terms of picture quality.

I not sure how noisy he is mentioning, but after my laptop is back from RMA, they change the internal fan it seems very quiet than the previous fan. But the temp still....  doh.gif  doh.gif

They ask me to bring my own thermal and help me paste, wat do u recommend? I got 2 unit but is for my own rig.
*
my own preferences are still tuniq tx-4, as5, and ic diamond. i am currently using ic diamond. er.. you got 2 units of what?

i can't find IC Diamond.. non in low yat.. i terrorize the hold building search ic diamond and DDR3 Low voltage ram...  (found DDR3L only 2nd floor shop sell it cost me RM250 per 8GB kingston, normal ddr3 RM190)
*
there are a few sellers at garage sales who sell ic diamond.

as for the ram, it's safer to get the most compatible ones. i had a number of sales guys telling me that 1.5V is 'FINE', 'NO PROBLEM' to use in a laptop that should run 1.35V ram. well i know it will work fine initially. they didn't mention anything about long term effects when i asked because they started showing impatient expressions lol!

it's not healthy for the system when higher voltage ram is used, the thing is the ram itself needed a 1.5V to fully operate while the slot only provides 1.35V =.=" it may affect the ram probably shorter lifespan for the ram and thus the system might be affected too coz the ram didn't perform as it should be.. probably somewhere it;s forced too much. lol
*
ya the problem is still how far can the imc in the cpu can stand the long term operations like this.

QUOTE(Unseen83 @ Aug 12 2013, 02:07 PM)
hmm i test on win8 with standard DDR3 this i got after 2 hour(yes still appear after update SSD Firmware it only fix after change RAM DDR3"L")

Yap its very hard. They say need to order and wait for 1 or 2 weeks to get. Size 13 to 15 Inches. I will use it for uni and programs like autocad inventor solidworks cathia for product designing and for presentation and word tasks and also for some quality gaming. It should be portable and must have some decent battery life with decent cooling and good graphics. My budget is around rm4500
*
If you had the time, maybe you can go to lyp, there are some shops selling g46. You can also contact the sellers at garage sales. Some of them are selling it too.

It should be fine to run the software that you mentioned. As for gaming, just remember this is a laptop. Many highend settings in games are for highend desktop gpus only.

Whats your expected screen size? I think g46 is 1366x768; you can get a replacement lcd panel with 1600x900.

And its relatively difficult to take out the battery.

every brand has its own stories :/

i just hope the people in these service centers practice professionalism and work ethics, and be more responsible and fair to the people they serve.

A Dell technician is at my office to service a laptop now, the way i see how he tear down the laptop is quick and efficient, he only spend less than 4 min to tear the whole laptop apart. That makes me really jelly.

Then i think about my asus pula....  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

a few dell technicians are good. others.. not so. i saw one dell tech dropped the screen of an aw in front of me while he disassembled it to access the internals. then he's like nothing happened putting all parts back, leaving some scratches on the lid. the owner was like shocking.gif and i was like shakehead.gif . he left just like that.

But when compare Dell techician, you still able to see what they r doing right in front of u, if anything goes wrong, you able to make complain based on what you see.

At asus, you have no idea how they fap & rape your laptop behind you. I am sorry to say that, I am waaaay too disappoint how they serve me from the 1st level of CS till the hardware support.  mad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif
*
true. it hurts more when you saw all that happen so you will most probably be very pissed off, up to the extent asking for a brand new unit or a full refund smile.gif

as for asus or any other brands, well, good luck to them. i really don't know on what basis these foreign brands appointing the service center operators, until they can jeopardize the marketing efforts (maybe lack of proper communications internally, i don't know).

that's why when we get whatever electronics these days, don't get too excited yet. test and check them out inside and out first.

Guys i need some help..i place my SSD in the ODD drive and my laptop cant detect it..what's the problem?
*
can you see your ssd in the bios menu?

have you initiated your ssd? if you haven't, right click on your computer icon in file explorer and choose manage. then from the computer management, select storage > disk management. a dialogue should pop up and ask you to initiate the new disk. it's best to make it mbr disk.

No problem smile.gif

Yeah if you havent updated the firmware you should do that first. A simple volume is fine. Sorry im not familiar with m4. Maybe you should google and see what the latest firmware fixed.

Actually im just trying weather the ssd and caddy works or not...both working fine..i just try installing win8 from an untouched win8 iso..but when i format as MBR disk..its say efi only allow gpt..change it back to gpt then this error 'We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one.  For more information, see the Setup log files'..ahh cant even install  icon_question.gif
*
Oh i didnt know that you wanna install w8 lol! The process should be more simple like holloway said.

Now you need to do this:
1. Convert it to gpt;
2. Clear all partitions;
3. Take out stock drive and put the ssd into hdd partition;
4. Install windows.

QUOTE(holloway @ Aug 13 2013, 08:22 PM)
oh i know the gay partition(gpt) disk .. honestly annoying lol

Haha!
