Hi guys, as per topic, can we import a Xbox One <US> and play it in Malaysia? It is region locked like Xbox 360. So could it be playable like Xbox 360 <US> simply with a US hotmail configuration in Malaysia. Fyi, I am currently own an X360 <Sg> (and PS3 too) with an Asia Hotmail configuration so no issue at all. I've pre-ordered XOne - Day One Edition from Amazon, just wanna sure and clear whether this machine is playable when delivered during the end of the year (just cant wait till 2014/2015 release of XOne in Bolehland).

Thanks in advance for your advice here.

You will hit problems when the game is region restricted. it's not related to your account region but console & game compatibility

Buying NTSC game is not a problem if we purchase it from Amazon or play-asia.
I am more concern about the authentication of the XOne when connected to net. Will it block us from playing XOne <US, NTSC/U> in bolehland (with NTSC/U game of course)?

Btw, just for sharing, way back to 2007 when I first bought X360 <Asia NTSC/C> we can't simply connect to Live. In order to do that we have to create an US hotmail account with US address as well as US credit card info. Things might change in recent year though..

you can import a xbox one (us) and play it in malaysia, all you need is extra adapter. coz our country power board is no same as usa. i have a usa xbox slim where i order from play asia, still working fine here... yes, the game should region block. but it still easy to order ntsc-u games. and like xbox 360, i believe most game will gonna be region free like now. only a few title will block... just have to do some homework before buying new games. for the hotmail stuff, i not sure. my gametag is usa region coz i cant find malaysia region in xbox and i find out usa region more stuff to download.... but now, microsoft will be no using msp again, i might get trouble for purchasing games on xbox live, coz my usa address is fake....

i would like to per order xbox one usa console also. can i trust amazon? i never buy anything from amazon. will it ship to malaysia? how much will the shipping cost? and do we get extra charge by kastam?

Noted with the adapter thing and wish a simple converter adapter will solve it.

I'm the lucky one that successfully pre-ordered XOne- Day One Edition and PS4 - Launch Edition. Amazon seems sold out these two console now.

I am one of those internet audience that vote for PS4 over XOne in this E3 2013 for its superiority as well as great price point (which doesnt impact us in Bolehland much with our super low currency, both 399 and 499 are expensive after conversion though).

The only reason I ordered XOne is solely because of Forza 5 (yes, I am a big racing fan since I was a boy). While for PS4, we can't get Uncharted 4 anytime soon and GT6 been out for PS3, so I just grabbed Killzone Shadow Fall in the hope to play it in PS4 with my 55" LED.

Fyi, I bought most of my PS3 and X360 from amazon whenever there is huge price drop (quite often and quite cheap) and shipping/delivery is not a problem at all so far (with over 7 years buying experience with Amazon). The shipping cost is base off your selection over how fast is your delivery and it is reasonably cheap if you could lump a few games in one order. So far I've never happen with imposed of custom and my most expensive purchase was over RM900. Might be luck though.

The release date of XOne in Asia is in Fall of 2014 in Sg, HK, Aus & NZ. Bolehland is expected a longer waiting period. If u can't wait, better get one from somewhere before it sold out everywhere. Fyi, PS4 and XOne is sold out in Amazon and others (MS, Gamestop, Play-asia) will out of stock real soon. Good luck.

PS4 is not sold out. They just rename it to Standard Edition. Essentially is the same thing (even description all the same) so you can still pre-order them.

Also Amazon US now offers free shipping to Singapore. So if you want to save a bit more, avoid any custom issues for imports, and have relatives / friends who stay in SG while travelling often between the 2, you can pay with MY credit card and ask to ship to SG.

Yes, the PS4 Standard Edition = looooooooongggg Q, Good Luck!

Free shipping to Sg, what a great news! I were staying in Sg for the past 6 yrs and just back to KL permanently since last Sept... anyway shipping to My doesn't cost much it's merely USD19.90 so it's cnosidered cheap though..

Amazon charges import fee deposit. Another usd 125 on top of console if ship to msia. That's why I suggest sg if don't want to take huge risk plus free shipping. Maybe the earlier dude got Jalan to avoid it.

Anyway good luck in customizing ur US xbone sets smile.gif heard got plenty of restrictions by region.

The restrictions are the same ol' restriction you have with XBL at the moment.

You can use your current GT to play any disc based game you bought. Probably can't make access NA XBLA due to country IP.

Internet getting kinda ridiculous on the XB1 blame-wagon.

It seems like your games (yes, even disc based games) won't even "activate" when you're connecting from the wrong region.

In other words no Xbox One will work in Malaysia until we get an official release here.

wow, MS really shoot them self in the head. after comparing PS4 and X1, i'm very much leaning to purchase PS4 if all the statement made by both party is true.

so far all i see is X1 is inferior hardware with useless kinect and products that is more emphasis as media center than gaming machine.
