Buying NTSC game is not a problem if we purchase it from Amazon or play-asia.
I am more concern about the authentication of the XOne when connected to net. Will it block us from playing XOne <US, NTSC/U> in bolehland (with NTSC/U game of course)?

Btw, just for sharing, way back to 2007 when I first bought X360 <Asia NTSC/C> we can't simply connect to Live. In order to do that we have to create an US hotmail account with US address as well as US credit card info. Things might change in recent year though..

November ain't that far away. So we will know by then.

I have money hot in the chamber ready to shoot if Nov. is tomorrow.

i really really really want to play DR3 and TF!

Yes, the PS4 Standard Edition = looooooooongggg Q, Good Luck!

Free shipping to Sg, what a great news! I were staying in Sg for the past 6 yrs and just back to KL permanently since last Sept... anyway shipping to My doesn't cost much it's merely USD19.90 so it's cnosidered cheap though..
*
It's not the shipping its the Kastam.

What restrictions? Bad idea to get the US version?
*
The restrictions are the same ol' restriction you have with XBL at the moment.

You can use your current GT to play any disc based game you bought. Probably can't make access NA XBLA due to country IP.

Internet getting kinda ridiculous on the XB1 blame-wagon.

Well, Microsoft is implying that it's best to just wait for the Xbox One to launch in the specific region/country before trying.

Hmmm, dangerous if I get it and it refuses to work here.

For me personally, most of the X1 content offered in US 1. doesn't interested me, 2. doesn't accessible/offered in Bolehland, ie TV, movie, music, etc. The reason I bought X1 is solely because of Forza 5  rclxms.gif .

If I cant get it day one, I wont lose much since I still have F2, F3, F4, GT5, GT6, NFS, DiRT 1/2/3, GRiD 1/2, F1 2011/12 in either X360 & PS3. Just my personal intention of X1 here.

Note that X1 is not a bad machine as a overall content services provider. It still have those audience looking towards this as a ONE machine that rule the house  smile.gif . If in US is even better due to the content (TV, Movie, Music, etc) offered.

I believe if we wanna a complete gaming experience, we gotta get both PS4 and X1 eventually since both machine has its pros and cons.

Complete gaming no Nintendo? Mana boleh.

Get 'em all. whistling.gif

Better question to ask: Which one you would pay for MP?

This is truly a tricky part that not being answered directly by M$. Hope some light from someone soon regarding the IP thing.

To be honest how is that 24 hour login an issue?

It's not like MS will invalidate your entire XB1 game collection and force you rebuy back all the license when you forgot to login within the 24 hour 'grace' period.

For Msia the most important question is not "if Unifi down how!?" but rather
"if RM : USD RM3.80 how!?"

Steam library also cannot access if didn't login to logout. Orang tak mogok coz Steam give back with steam sales. Hopefully when XB1/PS4 goes pure digital route, the publishers are more inclined to mark down their digital offerings as deep like steam sales.

The Sony "no DRM" statement is pure PR play IMHO. It's lile Najib buat press statement orang tak perjaya, tapi Jack Tretton buat statement its like the gospel of the gods.

6 months from now we will be looking back and realize everybody is just over-reacting. Also 6 month from now takde game to main untuk Wii U...

The 24-hour authentication IS an issue because it won't work in Malaysia.

It's not that XB1 will "invalidate" your games,
it just won't validate them at all in the first place because you're trying to use them from an invalid region.

This is what the twitter exchange here suggests

It is an issue. And this is coming from someone who is blessed with Unifi in a highly urban area like Subang Jaya with a decent PC to boot, plus a smart phone with data plan. Even with Unifi, it DOES go down once in a while. A minor inconvenience yes, but you won't feel the negative of the 24 hr login issue unless you encounter a situation like:-
1) You played Forza 5 last night. Managed to unlocked the Mclaren. Since it is bed time you shut off your Xbox one and go to bed
2) The next day you did a little overtime and return back later than usual. It is Friday night, and you want to race in your just unlocked Mclaren.
3) But then you realized that there is no internet connection, which means.....
4) .. you cannot authenticate your Forza 5 with Microsoft servers since the late time you game, which is last night.
5) ...so you try to connect using using your smartphone, because you have a smartphone with data plan.
6) ... but then realized M$ decided to make you download a huge ass patch to update the Xbone before you can game (speaking from experience with Games for Windows Live)
7) ... but your data plan while is has 3GB or unlimited data cap it is not as fast as broadband
8) ... so unable to login and play with your just unlocked Mclaren you wish you bought a PS4 or any other device which has non-restrictive DRM.

Sony has made a pretty bold statement with its no DRM stance. I am not a Sony fanboy, but if Sony decided to backtrack on their statements you can expect a huge backlash to them.

Ini hypothetical situation tahap dewa yo lol sweat.gif
Satu malam internet tak boleh connect tak main video game tak akan mati punya.

If WoW addicts could survive Tuesday nights not playing everybody else should be fine tongue.gif

bloody hell, they really plan to restrict our game's activation by IP?

Yo like that's from a twitter account not from MS official statement.

The internet (Neogaf especially) just love to over-react and dogpile on what the favorite hatred of the week.

If we can't get into XBLA, don't you think that it will affect the dreaded online check as well ?
*
I honestly don't think there will be *major* impact.
Its just that we will be restricted to some XBLA content if it wasn't released for our region.

As of now only Capcom & MS practices region locking for XBLA content (RE4 wasn't available for SG marketplace for some time etc)

Whether we can use our SG GT (I assume most Msia 360 players registered under SG) on Xbone on Day 1 remains to be seen.

Thinking about it for the past few days, I think its wiser to wait for both Xbone and PS4 to official launch in our region before making a purchase.

Looking at the 2 pillar titles for these system (Destiny and TitanFall), I highly doubt we will enjoy a playable latency if the 'cloud' servers were not located in APAC.

If the "Family Share" thing works as what Major Nelson said (its definitely going to be publisher restricted) I would hope to form a circlejerk of XBone "family" members to share games, boleh jimat duit to go cheong yo.

the "family members share"? here how it works according to major nelson.

- only one gamer can play at a given time.
- if you share let say with 3 gamers, they CAN NOT play the games simultaneously.

this feature i think works best for Single player games.
*
If can get 3-4 dedicated people to buy 1 title EACH every month and share among said 3-4 people only, its like buying new games for 25% of the list price.

... I think my math failed somewhere.

So today Kotaku reported somebody @ Gaf datamined Steam and found out "GameSharing Libray" in the client. XBone is not the special one.

My 2 cents/conspiracy theory:

"GameSharing" is not platform control but publisher control.
The degree of the game's content that can be shared will vary from publisher.

From business POV, it makes no sense that JRPG publishers will allow full sharing because to them it will be a loss revenue.

For MP focus games, the shared account will only be allowed to advanced to a certain level cap, to 'unlock' further he must buy the full game.

To not abuse "game library", the primary user must login every 24 hours to re-validate the licenses. Failure to do so will render the shared account to not have access to the library. This deterrent was establish to mitigate abuse of the shared library with no impact to the primary user.

TLDR:

Our wet-dream of getting 10 LYN people to share purchases might not be able to come true.

Pbbseller/LY seller profit margin maintain kekal & kuat into the next-gen!

Sekian terima kasih.

So we are losing the ability to share games now? 1 Gold Live for whole Family? Disc Based games need disc to be in tray for authentication? Online Pass coming back? what about renting/resell policy?

It kinda suck now, everything goes back to stone age (like xbox360 other than no region lock, GT Lock like PS3?) no more Premium Console.
*
Hopefully down the road sharing comes back.

See how Steam does it than maybe MS/Sony will copy the process.

The only good thing about steam is the sales.

Otherwise, you're stuck with one game identity, one copy.  Which is the worst DRM inplementation of the current generation
*
Granted steam can allow publishers to slash the price kaokao 'cause they don't have to play nice with retailers. MS/Sony/Nintendo still rely heavily on physical retail.

Seeing MS back peddling on their DRM stance shows that society is still not ready to accept full digital.

I was really looking forward to game sharing, at least now can import Xbone and play without the hassle of region lock.

Last time before X360 launch @ SG ada orang kasi import ar?
