Hi there!!

First of all, congrats on teaching your pup to sit/stay.  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

Like kids, dogs can be taught obedience the first day you get your dog.  biggrin.gif

Anyway, guess you have to check your dog's teeth if the smell is coming from the saliva.  laugh.gif

Oh yes, do clean the teeth from time to time too because even though we give dry food, you can imagine some particles of food can get stuck in between the teeth. Brush with dog toothpaste or even children's toothpaste is ok.  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

My Lucky only got 4 teeth at da moment laugh.gif. Others are either growing or not grown yet. But then hor, when he breathes thru to my face, I can't smell anything ler. Datz y I'm confused where does the smell come from?? rclxub.gif. But I am very very sure it comes from da face doh.gif.

By the way, is there any breeder I can contact to place my shih tzu there just for about 3 to 4 days during CNY??? I can pay a small fee lar if there's such a service. I noe pets safari got offer such service but very expensive rclxub.gif - kenot afford it. Or is there anyone out there willing to offer me the help?? I wanna scan thru first la if that person's trustable. And don't worry, if u put Lucky in playpen, he noes whr to pee poo. He's only confused when u let him roam freely. Now i'm headache with where to temporarily place him when I go back to Kuching for CNY. Just for once nia .. Hope u guys can direct me to the appropriate person. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Hahahaa ... check out the nature of the breed first. I found in da internet previously, it says MS is a very barky dog tongue.gif. U can try and search for it at adpost. A lot of ppl selling MS, price at around RM750 min without cert (i think). Forgotten liao. Some ppl sell at a price lower than that but make sure u check carefully lor coz it might not be a pure breed.

Most importantly, purchase from the breeder, pay them a visit, screen through the condition, if you feel you are satisfied, then DONT BUY YET. Visit few more, and make the best decision.

But of corse, before you make any decision, you have to be prepared & do lots of research regarding the breed, as well as how to train a puppy. Gooluck on your search for another family member which will stay with you for another 10 or more years to come.

Hmmm... Possible could be discharge from the eyes? rclxub.gif

Anyway, as for putting up your dog, maybe you can check with your vet as well? Some vets do provide boarding.

Yes, pet safari is expensive but they have a good team there. One of the vets used to treat my dog too. biggrin.gif

Hey make sure you are ready for the responsibilities and expenses that come with a dog before you think about getting one. Yes, larger breeds usually have shorter life.

My 1st dog lives up to 14 years. and it died not cuz of old age. it got knocked down by a car. U see... my dog loves to stand in the middle of the road and the louder the car honk, the longer my dog will block their way.

I saw in a book it states that dogs lives up to 15 years.

Dependent on breed. Larger dogs like St. Bernards have life span of about 10 years.

Erm... for a start, you may need to teach your dog that newspaper is a NO, NO. You can roll up the newspaper and smack on the floor next to him when he's tearing it into pieces. brows.gif

Anyway what kind of breed is your dog ? Is it the large breed ? Floor mats are not suitable for large breed dogs (Well, I doubt you will keep large breed dogs at home also right ?) because they have the ability to lift the mat up easily. Smaller breed need a bit of effort to do that but you need to train your dog not to play with that - it's a mat, not a magic carpet though. laugh.gif

Alternatively, you can spread the mat over the floor in the toilet without newspaper beneath (once your pup had stained the mat with it's scent). To wash, just lift the mat, dumb the poo (if he poo-ed on top of it) and rinse the floor beneath the mat (and the mat itself). No newspaper hassle ! smile.gif

I'm wondering if I can build something like a walkway that leads up to the toilet bowl and place the mat over the hole in the toilet bowl... brows.gif
