There are some reports on the net like this one that says FFXV is also coming to PS3:

Now THIS Final Fantasy, I'm hyped for. One of the reasons why I bought my PS3 was for Versus 13. Now, it'll be one of the reasons why I want to own a PS4.

Not really happy with them renaming it to FFXV. They should just kept the Versus 13 tittle, the gameplay looks more like an FF spin off rather than main tittle FF. Also the plot still involves those Crystals, luh'cie, falcie crap from Xiii.
Maybe few more real gameplay trailers can change my mind about this being FFXV. |

I notice that the trailer almost just develop from scratch compare
to the 2011 trailer which almost looks like a full product. The atk command as well as the HP bar seem very different compare to this trailer back in 2011 It make me think that Sony has paid Nomura *insert amount of $$* to make Versus 13 become PS4 exclusive/launch title |

Falcie yes... L'cie? I dun see them though... You sure its the same? Because seems to me that they share only the crystal and the god... And names matters not...because to the very least the plot looks more solid than FFXIII itself... And I have a love hate relationship with FFXIII.. Nah, they didnt mention FFXV is exclusive for PS3/4 or anything like that. Only mention of FF title exclusive on PS3/4 is the FFXIV:A Realm Reborn. Can't wait for BOTH!

Kind of a bad news.
Square Enix is being somewhat coy about FFXV coming to the PS3 as well. They now say that Lightning Returns FFXIII will be the last Final Fantasy title for current-gen consoles. This means that FFXV won't be coming to the PS3 after all. It also means they just silently cancelled the entire Versus XIII for PS3 without anyone noticing. |

Anyone watched this yet?? Gameplay trailer.
Man...the action set pieces looks insane. They only showed the early part of the game I think, we still don't get to see the open world part yet. Details from Nomura on the livestream. -They shifted the game to next-gen and made it a mainline title due to the scale/scope. -The game is an action RPG, but there are command system elements in the game. -Noctis is "not cool inside" and not a cool dude, but a quirky dude. -Party members are a core part of Final Fantasy, so there is a party in this game. -Noctis can teleport himself into the sky. Though he's not a gravity wizard, Noctis does not fall at a Newtonian rate for gameplay purposes. -The current generation console versions were canceled about a year ago. They're still working to improve the graphics on the next-gen version. -They are making games in DirectX 11 on PC and then porting them to the PS4 and Xbox One since they can handle that. i really cant brain SE's business plan with Final Fantasy series. Fans have been screaming to bring back the ATB battle system, yet they ignore us and give us craps like action rpg or that really horrendous FF13 battle system. they know the money is in front of them by reverting to the old battle system.

I dont really care much, as long the game is fun is fun. To me FF games have been evolving from FF1 ~ now. so is norm to me to be surprised and awe at the same time.
If the Gameplay give me fun, then im having fun. is stupid to say FF has lost is path etc etc, when they from begining have been evolving. Peeps who hate after FF are just peeps who can't let go of past. What i want is a nother good story for FF. 13 was good, but not good enough. I don't really mind FF being action RPG...XV looks great to me.
What's worrying me is that there are so few RPGs with the traditional turn based combat in it. At this rate probably turn based combat will extinct. I'm still a fan of turn base combat and I can definitely understand the FF fans who have been TBC fans since day 1. It's like playing God of War and suddenly the following instalments turn into a Real Time Strategy game (bad example lol) |

If its more like KH (free movement) and less like FF13 (u can't control movement) then I will be a happy man.
ATB is good, but I like KH battle system so much more. |

Explaining the new FFXV battle gameplay, and what I like about it
1. Looks like Kingdom Hearts battle style... I didn't like the KH battle system that much because the keyblade feels so light.. But the fights in FFXV looks more impactful. Furthermore, it's been so long since a console KH game thus the similarities works in FFXV favors (1:30 2:47) 2. The Just Cause 2-esque hook thingy that let you grab onto tall buildings allowing high in the air vertical fights. Final Fantasy games are huge... so hopefully there is a lot of freedom in this. There's also probably a lock on mechanic that help you track enemies especially in air (maybe auto?). (00:57 1:32). 3. Randomly scripted friend helper mechanics where team members will help you when in need and possibly deal the finishing blow.. it maybe a bit scripted but it fits in thematically in the game and emphasizes on friendship. (1:22 2:15) 4. Rolling mechanics (1:41) 5. Dash Mechanics + Special move that let you hit enemy in a fast succession (1:46)( 3:08) ala prince of persia 6. Jumping/vaulting over enemies (1:55) also ala prince of persia. 7. Special team combo mechanics that combine scripted scene and realtime gameplay (2:49) again this fits in the friendship theme of the game 8. Using environments on enemy (3:03) 9. Cover and gun combat, also also it looks like you won't be playing only as the main character (this is not the main character) (3:05) 10. You can swim, and a teased epic underwater battle (3:17) 11. Square says Final Fantasy XV's realtime combat doesn't spell the end of command-based battles:

well i hope the changes would retain some retro style element such as city and shops...unlike ff13 all of these are gone...i would like to have a world map where i can free roam on it as well...but i guess these option would not be seen in xv

if FFXV still cant deliver sales than they should stop the franchise.... lol
Anyway action type RPG always easier to get more audience than the normal turn based RPG.... ppl this day getting less patient or go for fast pace FPS. |

A few trials and error is bound to happen since the industry had change their ground to the west for the past decade and we need that!! but that's not the case with final fantasy series.. their turn based more simpler, as easy as selecting "attack" u still can hit the monster.. i love the evolving turn based from classic to advanced style like ff13 and 13-2, i like turn based style of x-2 even though i dont like the story, i love to replay of classic turn based like ff1-9 including other games like chrono cross, chrono trigger, persona series, rogue galaxy.. but that doesnt mean i dislike action based.. i still love game like radiata stories, grandia, tales of eternia, kingdom hearts series.. but i still think final fantasy series should maintain turn based style but with evolved fighting style.. and im sure most of old timers in western world also feel the same.. call me a whiner, whining like a boy.. but the fact that people who are whining not to change means they are 'old', not a boy.. dont whine to a whiner because if u do that, u look more like a boy.. but dont get me wrong, FFXV will still be my target and I plan to get the bundle set along with the PS4 (if got lah).. and for this series im hoping for the best storyline because that is the main reason im following FF series until now and become Square Enix loyal customer.. and to Square Enix, please put back limit break! |

If final fantasy 15 fails then it is finish with the series. Its loosing out all their fans during the poor ff13 series.
Bravely Default on the other hand looks like a true final fantasy game. |

The Tokyo Game Show is going on right now in Japan and Square Enix has just released some news that should make Final Fantasy fans very happy. At the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix announced that a downloadable playable demo of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV will be included with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD as a special bonus.
Titled ‘Final Fantasy XV -EPISODE DUSCAE-,’ the demo includes elements from the opening sections of the full game, but alters story progression and more to create a unique first-play experience. The demo is activated by a voucher included with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. To accompany this announcement, an official Final Fantasy XV trailer has also been released worldwide today, which you can see below. Type 0 seems like a totally new game, like it was made from the ground up as ps4 game instead of being a HD version of a PSP game. really impressed!
My hype for FFXV was starting to diminish but thanks to the new trailer I'm in the hype train again Graphics looks crazy, hope it's not as linear as Xiii So instead of travelling across the map in Airships we sports car now  the car looks like an Audi from the back. Some fans might be pissed about the car driving in the game, but I'm actually pretty ok with it. |

2011 UI is way too FFXIII-ish. Too techno looking.
Anyways, an Audi... really? Hopefully there are other cars in the game. The game does seem a little more slower in pace though, not a bad thing I think. Here's hoping they haven't toned down the fast paced and flashy gameplay that was shown in the E3 2013 trailer. Also notice that Noctis only has 1 weapon in the TGS 2014 trailer as opposed to multiple in last year's trailer.
Assumption is that the TGS 2014 trailer takes part quite early in the game. |

Hopefully it's all fixed when the game releases, no more excuses. Hand animating mouth movements are significantly a lot more easier than in the PS2 days. |

Town looks large enough to me, considering it is a town that is. Probably a little too empty at this point though, should have more NPCs. |

Final Fantasy XV fans have finally got what they’ve been waiting for, as Square Enix shared the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XV on the first day of Jump Festa 2015 in Japan. Game Jouhou shares what went on during the presentation with a beefy summary of the event.
The giant monster shown at the end of the trailer is indeed Titan. Summoned Beasts can be acquired after fighting them, and there are various other conditions for acquiring them as well. Titan will play a big role in the story, but the demo won’t include him in. It will instead add another Summoned Beast that is not a big part of the story. You’ll get to summon this Beast, and it is said that it will be a dynamic one that will surprise players. The giant size of Titan seen in the trailer is how he’ll look when you summon him yourself. The town in the trailer is shown in a seamless fashion; however, at the current stage, Square Enix can’t say for sure whether the entire game will be seamless. Again, they say that they’re doing their best to make it all seamless, but important scenes will likely require some loading. The demo, however, will be completely seamless. The town shown is called “Lestarg” and it plays an important role in the story surrounding Titan. While big, it is not one of the largest towns in the game, and won’t be in the demo. There’s a hotel where you’ll get to rest, eat, and shop, along with all kinds of other events. General Cor Leonis will join you and fight in the party. there are some party members that will join as temporary guests, and Cor is one of them. He’s not a friend of Noctis and the others, but an aide to his father. He’ll be there to look out for Noctis and Co. If you go a while without sleeping, the stat boosts you get from foods and such will lose their effect. The sleep element has been added to further emphasize that these characters are living people, so they’ll need to get rest just like any normal human. You can eat meals at camp for extra status effects. You’ll need to take a breather in order to level up. So basically, if you don’t rest at a camping area, you won’t level up. This will make it possible for people to challenge themselves at beating the game at a low level. You can go three days without sleeping, but any longer than that and you’ll begin to see negative effects. One day in Final Fantasy XV is the equivalent of a real-life hour, so a day lasts for about 40 to 45 minutes, and the rest is night. This bit is currently in development, so it’s subject to change. There will be moments where you’ll need to go on fighting for days at a time. There are also trains to travel inside, and these will have their own spaces within them. You’ll travel by train at times, and can freely walk around inside when you do. Cindy (or Cidney in Japanese) doesn’t have much to do with the story, but she’s a mechanic who’ll talk to you about gameplay. While we still don’t know exactly what kind of mechanic she is, she’ll appear in the demo. Square Enix’s male staff members have been putting a lot of effort into creating her. At the moment, Square Enix are working on adding more action varieties, and they feel that magic isn’t looking too impressive, so they’re not showing it. They need to work on it, but they’ll do that after they’re done with the Summoned Beasts. At first, they decided on only having Noctis use magic, but they felt that it wouldn’t be as fun gameplay wise, so they’re changing it up a bit so that everyone in the party can use magic. Square are adding various languages for the demo version that will release around the world, but due to the heavy amount of content and problems in schedule, Square Enix can’t say for sure whether they’ll all be included in the initial release. Insomnia is the capital of the Kingdom of Lucis, where Noctis is the prince of. This is where a ceremonial signing will take place. Square Enix prepared all kinds of scenes for the latest trailer, but since they didn’t use them all, map director Yasuyuki Matsunami got pretty upset. Tabata justified his reason by saying that trailers can be made in two ways: to advertise or show the state of development. They showed Behemoth and weathers in the previous trailers, and Tabata says this was put together in a rush. As for Jump Festa 2015, the focus was advertising, which was done by the editing studio, and not in cooperation with the development staff. For this reason, they weren’t able to include all the scenes that were requested by staff. Some of the omitted scenes were shown separately at the event, including one that highlighted Cindy, and another with town exploration. There was a much older version of the town, but the latest version had a lot more going on that was shown in the trailer when you see Noctis and friends cruising in there. The full-release version will look nicer, and will have more people walking around. If you go near them, you’ll also get to hear them speaking. You can purchase ingredients to cook at camp. By eating those foods, you’ll gain positive effects. By properly sleeping, you’ll maintain its effects. The part that shows the dog peeing [in the footage with town exploration], in the back, they show a part that will play a big role in the game’s story. So, first few bad things...
- Atrocious framerate. Considering the game is only 900p on the PS4 and looks no where near their final target, Squeenix has a huge amount of optimization work ahead of them. There is way too much stuttering all over the place and it does hamper gameplay, more so when this is actually an action RPG. - The lock-on system needs to be tweaked. Right now, the game makes the decision for you to lock-on to an enemy. It's extremely inconsistent and what's worse is that KH1 actually had a better lock-on system, ironic isn't it? - AI (party members) are still dumbfounded. This is not what was promised by Squeenix, they're supposed to be your "bros", not your deadweight. I believe this can be fixed so I wouldn't worry about the AI in the demo. - A frustrating and simplistic battle system. I don't really quite get the whole press square with rhythm to chain combos. I understand that XV isn't going to be a Bayonetta or DMC type of game, but I think many people will have trouble with the battle mechanics for the first few hours. - Stealth. Oh God. I hope they remove this. It's terribly clunky, terribly implemented, almost as if someone in the team said "hey! let's do a metal gear section, except you know, FF style!". If anyone remembered the stealth sequences in FFVII:DoC, this is actually nearly as bad as that. Now the good stuff. - Despite being at 900p, despite only using trilinear filtering for AF, despite having no AA, despite having poor transparency filters, despite... okay, really, despite many of the technical visual feats that are missing from XV demo, the game does look good. It's great to see that the game will have huge open spaces once again, not corridors like in XIII. - The monsters design are seriously stunning. You guys have seen Ramuh, Behemoth, the Garulas, all kinds of monsters that looks varyingly different. Having seen all these iconic monsters in the game, many of which still hasn't shown up, I seriously can't wait to ride Bahamut (why not?!). The team has done a stellar job with the models and it's been a long time coming. - The music, man the music doesn't even get boring even though there are only several tracks in the demo. There's a good sense of epic, intensity, and calm. I cannot say I like the english VA too much yet, they're pretty decent but... I don't think the VA for Noctis match, he's too young to have a deep voice, it's a stark difference from the Japanese VA. So, XV. Plenty of work ahead for Squeenix. It will definitely not be released this year and I think with the scope they have for this game, possibly not even next year (if we're lucky, perhaps very late 2016). |

I remember that Wan Hazmer mentioned bout graphic in demo will be running on Luminous 2.0 and final product will be 2.5 let see the changes how much difference .

This wasn't explained in the demo at all afaik, but to do a hard lock on, press R3 when you have done a "soft lock" on an enemy (when you see a cross hair on an enemy after pressing R1). It does make locking on slightly better than the atrocious soft lock.

I just finished the demo. Gosh this game really got me hooked onto JRPG again. I actually spent quite a bit of time grinding and leveling up. To me, its been awhile since any JRPG interests me anymore. The last was Star Ocean 4.
Can't wait for FFIV. |

Just tried the demo last night, till the 1st fight with Behemoth. I lost count how many times I died when I tried to run away from it. Accidentally wrap to Behemoth instead of away, fail to find the hole and got smash and unable to run away....
The game is pretty, but it really needs much more tweaking. The walking part is rather slow, and the camera and lock on is horrible |

Final Fantasy XV Game Director Hajime Tabata has annouced that the demo will be getting an update in May & hopes to distribute it to everyone who played the demo. They are currently talking with Sony if it's possible to patch the demo & distribute it on PSN.
Episode Duscae 2.0 will include several improvements, like a better targeting and camera system, an improved combat system and the addition of dodge rolls. During the latest Active Time Report broadcast, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata announced when we’ll finally get our hands on version 2.0 of the Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae demo.
The new version of the demo will be made available on June 9th, exclusively for those who already have Episode Duscae. Thanks to the delay, it will come with all the improvements mentioned in previous broadcasts and more, including fixed frame rate and new cooperative actions between party members. |

Final Fantasy XV Director, Hajime Tabata, has confirmed to GameSpot that fans can expect to play the game before 2017, indicating the game will be released in 2016.

Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata confirmed a 2016 release window for the game. “Sorry I wasn’t very straightforward in making those comments at the previous event,” Tabata said. “I want to take this opportunity at PAX Prime to announce that we will officially release Final Fantasy XV in 2016.” Square Enix will hold a major event in March 2016 where it will announce the official release date of Final Fantasy XV. The reason for the March timing, according to Tabata, is that Square Enix has many collaborative efforts that they need to make sure are in place, as well as to ensure the game is at the level of quality they want it to be. Confirmed; there will be NO dual-language tracks on the disc. But plans for language pack to be offered as DLC is in the works, whether it will be free or not remains a question (most probably paid, knowing squeenix).
Airships might not happen if it doesn't "offer anything new". Business DV2 is now in charge of making airships side quest, but if it doesn't benefit the main game, then airships will be cut out. I see where this is going, it means airship side quests may be offered as DLC... |

There's even an ad at the top of the forum for this event. Noticed this just because I'm using a cyber cafe computer with no ad block. Sorry lowyat I don't discriminate in blocking ads.
This game will be hype! Finally, after ten years! It's the reason I bought both PS3 and PS4! Can't wait to try the new demo too. This time it's available to everyone instead of exclusive to those who bought Day One Edition of Final Fantasy Type-0. |

Played the demo...not bad, though control feels kinda sluggish. I seem to prefer ED's combat system more. So the platinum demo one is final?
Also, why sometimes I can wrap to pole/building but sometimes cannot? |

For 400 I got myself a uncharted 4 Collector's Edition. Which I think is worth much more.
Final Fantasy deviated from its root so far it hasnt even a drop of blood left for what it once was. Name itself is not enough. |

Actually, even the normal edition is kind of stupidly priced. USD already weaken, but selling at RM259? Lol? Games being sold when USD1 = RM4.50+ was only RM239.

just my view after playing the demo, i felt the controls are sluggish (somehow abit of delayed from the time i press the button till the character react? maybe could have be me) unlike kingdom hearts 2 which i played.
felt frustrating when fighting iron giant with the sluggish-ness framerate are not that good, and graphic...feels just a-ok only... |

played the demo, controls were a bit laggy and just doesn't feel smooth. Hoping the final version will be better. Man, is a PITA to collect all the crystal and to unlock the floor panels. Damn.

played the demo and must say that im not that impressed at all. the framerate was ridiculously crap, but they will definitely fix that. i didnt like how the camera was so close to my character at some points. and dont really like the weapon magic or whatever thing they are planning. bleh.... still on the fence about this. i never played any of these types of action FF games.
