Is the English voice available ah? The info from the Steam Page says the Asian version will have only Jap voiceovers

one of the major reason is the linear story line, totally different from other ff. they insaf in ffxiii-2 and 3

FF13.... to me is the game tat kill the hype of all Final Fantasy games..... worse in the series. I play up to 80% and cannot continue..... they is no up and down in the storyline it is same as the gameplay.... have u walking in straight line.

The game can make you fall asleep even during the fighting sequence. Becoz u can only control 1 character and most of the time is just attack attack then shift your paradim. I felt asleep few times during normal gaming, and boss fight is kinda boring too.

I used to thnk that FF12 was bad, and boring compare to the other traditional FF, nvr thought that FF13 was even worse. The character in the game will also piss ppl off with their stupid personality.

Skip it. I would said this game is not worth spending any more than USD1 and completely not worth spending ur time on the game. Want story go see Youtube, it is way better and more enjoyable than playing it yourself since they skip the boring linear dugeon walking part.

I think it's worth because it's cheap and most important it's coming to PC. If we don't support it, then Square will very unlikely to bring future titles to PC.

A bit late I think. What I do want is FFXV, since PC can now easily match or exceed consoles in terms of performance. Back when FFVII was released, the entry point for playing it was quite high, as you needed a 3D accelerator card (remember when that term was last used?) to really enjoy it. Don't get me started on the MIDI soundtrack for the PC version. And the less said about the PC port of FFVIII the better.

Anyhow, I'll still support the PC release of FFXIII. Perhaps someone at Squeenix will realize that not all their fans have PlayStation systems. It's a good thing that FFXV is also on Xbox One, since I don't think I'll be buying a PS4 for this gen. Now, if they can just bring it to PC, then I can buy it on PC instead.

i will buy just to support the practice regardless whether it is worth or not. i did not play FF13 anyway so i decided to give it a try.

Hi. A noob question here. Is this game region-locked? I currently study in Taiwan and want to buy this. Just worried about playing it when I am in Malaysia.

where got wor...GMG shows the Asia version is only getting a JP voice. Its very stupid to have only one language in one area while US have only English and no Jap. WTF Square Enix? If need licensing fee you pay lah since you are selling worldwide...and digital distribution isn't limited by disc space like BluRay or DVD on consoles. Why can't we just have a choice between both language?

considering the most of the story gt cinematic scenes, alot of in-game stuffs, and can play for 50++ hours (main story, nt counted missions)

Slightly weird move from SQUARE ENIX here. Different region will received different voiceover and subtitles pack. Luckily we got the superior and original Japanese voiceover, but still the English voiceover isn't bad at all. More options are better. I don't recall such restriction 5 years ago. Region-restriction and region-locking are getting weirder, they keep crossing the line until it become a norm.

It feels very stupid to me TBH...why the heck would you wanna restrict different region to different voice, licensing issues perhaps?

I think the ones who find FF13 bad are those previous FF players or hard core fans of the franchise.

New players like me or many others might probably have a much better experience as we're playing it for the first time :)

It probably depends on personnel preference.

For instance, I can find reasons for me to continue playing Final Fantasy 3 at the moment. I get bored from playing it within 1 hour.

Eventually, I will finish it because I bought the game.

it's region-lock stuff. if you buy the game in Malaysia as a gift, you can only activate it within the country stated in the list.

if I used "Purchase for myself" instead of "Purchase as a gift" have any different?

if buy directly for yourself, then should not have any problem.

I a little worried about the cinematic scene though. Game developer haven't use BINKS for a very long time, and I don't know why. Its kind the best way to render CGI in game, rather than the 1 usually use by EA, run pre-render in game graphic animation then use a apps to record them, then compress them to lower format. So in the end when you play game then reach cinematic, the quality degraded.

from my experience, its kinda move away from the original ways of playing FF games. I have play most part of the games on xbox360 but not yet finish, all I know is I getting hunted, running and rush throughout the game without actually "rest" like you normally would when u enter a city.

I as a Final Fantasy fans, are one of them that would love to have the old battle system like Final Fantasy VII back. Or maybe Final Fantasy X. Though this evolution has made the gameplay become so much different, but as a fan, we always support and get the game and play. To be honest, I'm quite enjoy the cinematic though.

What I love the Final Fantasy games is the storyline. Ya, I do agree FF13 doesn't have up and down emotion story like Final Fantasy 8, 9, 10. But I am quite happy with the overall battle system.

So in love with the old time monster like iron giant, behemoth, chimera etc.....

i used to play ff7 to ff10, and then tried ff12 and realized ff12 sux damn badly , especially the fighting system. I love the battle system from 7-10, so will i have same exp as you when i buy ff13? just want to clarify...

I hope they release FF15 for PC too, that game makes me so excited, like how FFX excite me back then with the graphical improvement, environment and characters.

FF13 is good, FF13-2 is boring too me with only 2 characters, FF13-3 haven't try.

I'm a "previous" FF players, I don't think FF13 is bad, but the battle system...I feel too much automation, I prefer FFX or Kingdom Hearts style more.

I'm also a FF series fan. Would love to see this be a worthwhile purchase.

I feel like they will (partly shown by FF 13) but hope it won't take more than 2 years for that to happen

Have been paying attention to this game since show up on Steam, found out that it is a straight console port like BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. Other word, horrible port.

What's wrong with the voice over? MY is under Asia region so i believe we are getting the Japanese voice over. It would be nice to listen to the native voice overs of the Japanese franchise . As for dual voices, i really hope to have too.

I would think they would be able to include both voice-over in the long run as it isn't something incredibly difficult to do.

JP voice has licensing issue to deal with before they can use it world wide. Forgot where I read about it.

As for English voice not available for Asia version, no idea.

from what I rememberd (back at 2009~ish), FF13 first developed at PC, then they required a long time to port it to PS3, to downgrade the image quality so that can archieve 30fps at ps3.
