I a little worried about the cinematic scene though. Game developer haven't use BINKS for a very long time, and I don't know why. Its kind the best way to render CGI in game, rather than the 1 usually use by EA, run pre-render in game graphic animation then use a apps to record them, then compress them to lower format. So in the end when you play game then reach cinematic, the quality degraded.

QUOTE(bladekiller @ Sep 19 2014, 11:02 AM) what's the bad review about this? i think i played FFXiii but not lightning return one... ok mah from my experience, its kinda move away from the original ways of playing FF games. I have play most part of the games on xbox360 but not yet finish, all I know is I getting hunted, running and rush throughout the game without actually "rest" like you normally would when u enter a city.

wth hell man, no 1080p support?? Sumore cant change the voice over Japanese-English?. Further more, no PC graphic settings? I don't remember SQuarenix game on PC that lazy....
I felt like this is another lazy port game. Although it is nice that the cinematic was ran using binks.

QUOTE(memphiz_zero88 @ Oct 10 2014, 09:56 AM) Durante is working on 1080p mod. Pre-alpha fix is already up. For now, only ROW copies can change voice between Japanese and English, while Asia version stuck with only Japanese. the voice over aren't that important though. I played the English version on xbox, the mouth sync aren't perfect. that 1080p is top priority though. btw the story is damn confusing lol if you don't pay attention, the term l'Cie, fal'Cie those cie cie term, get confused easily, even I played until disc 4, I still confuse....

QUOTE(tripleB @ Oct 10 2014, 10:15 AM) Square was never a PC developer, that's the problem. Maybe Square Enix, the parent company, can make great PC versions, but that's more towards their western studios (Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, IO Interactive). They don't have much experience on PC. The PC version of Final Fantasy VII for example, was ported by Eidos back in 1998. (And uhh, Eidos is now part of Square Enix. So everything's come full circle now?) But that version was considered great back in the day, with 640x480 resolution and support for 3D display cards. Indeed, but look back a few SquareEnix games that released recent year, it was good, even for multi platform. The Last Remnant, Front Mission, and those Final Fantasy MMO those are good port.

QUOTE(Archaven @ Oct 10 2014, 10:42 AM) Someone did a comparison on the CG quality with ps3. seems console CG quality is better. Can imagine? I wont say better, but definitely not bad. I was really concern in this matter at first, after see the cinematic and Binks logo, I rest assured. Btw its not easy to compare though, if you using PC monitor their pixel is smaller that TV, if compared like that ofcourse PC gonna win. Need compared on the same output source baru betul

QUOTE(sai86 @ Oct 10 2014, 10:47 AM) i thought the bink video is more or less the same? since it is pre-render and not in-game. any1 try to override the XIII settings with driver settings? it matter on how they record that pre-render scene. Becoz nowadays game rarely use binks anymore, see those EA game, felt like launch the game in 720p, record the scene using FRAPS then compress the video sumore. I cant understand why they cant launch the scripted cinematic scene using in game engine. That have me worried about FFXIII for a while though, as FF series always about their beautiful CGI cinematic.
