Chill lah bro/sis. Its not about being bad generalizing people, it's called sharing experience.
Sometimes there are newbies here (or maybe people that has never travelled outside Malaysia before) and by reading these post they'll know what to expect. Rather than getting a rude shock over there at least they'll be prepared for the worse and should their luck be they get a bad supir they'll know what to do. Like some posters say, it was only one time they got a slightly pushier supir, other times they had nice ones.

i didnt really read all the long posts about bad experiences and all, but its bad to generalize.
sometimes you need to think, you are in a different place, with a different culture, you cannot expect people to treat you like a king, or like how you always wanted. sometimes you gotta give in.
who knows, those who complaints a lot are also douchebags? there's always two side to every story.

all my travels, i have encountered different types of people, and yes there are a few rotten apples here and there, but hey, that's the point of travelling. you see the world and meet new people, learn new stuffs and learn to be humble.

also, as for the supirs,
sometimes there's a reason why they dont want to entertain your requests. bali is a big island, and traffic/road conditions are not that good.
maybe the places that you want to go are to far apart from each other? usually if you go to the north, you'll spend one day exploring the northern part. then suddenly you ask to go somewhere in the south, of course they'll reject.

but whatever it is, always come prepared and do your research first before making a fool of yourself and ultimately ruining your travel experience.

just came back from bali, it's super hot!!!

not gonna do a review on my itinerary, more or less everything we eat and places we go are quite similar I believe. but one place for meal in kuta I must strongly recommend is Bamboo Corner, this place is super cheap! it's even cheaper than our mamak stall here with so much of variety to choose from, if you need wifi connection while dining? go and buy something from the circle K opposite and get the password from them then you can use freely.

Also, my supir is super duper a nice man! charge reasonable rate or cheap rate. Not pushy type, he won't chase you, won't send you to any places that you don't want to go, won't bring you to buy stuff, won't show you face, won't give you any pressure.

He is literally a YES man, you want to go to the moon, he will bring you there, but of course he will suggest to you his tour experience and itinerary, where you should go first, what you need to see, which luwak coffee should you try (dirt cheap luwak coffee, oh gosh)

if you want to eat something and yet you don't know the address, or forget to make reservations, changes to your plan, no worries, he will make it happen by googling or map and bring you there.

I rate my supir 200%. I'm sorry that some forumers got some really poor drivers, but this supir is absolutely worth hiring, 200% PM me for info.

Edit: he speaks good english too, no language barrier.

I'd finally managed to reserved 2 nights over at Tegal Sari. Heard highly of the place. Still have 3 more nights over at Kuta which I haven't book. Since this is my first trip over with my wife. M going for sightseeing plus relaxing. Any good boutique hotels to recommend along Kuta or nearby? Saw Kuta Beach Heritage which offers good location. Any advice? Cheers

Hi guys,

I'm going to bali on 4 to 6 April. 2 nights only on company trip. Flight, food, hotel all covered. I'm not interested to buy bali crafts..maybe some normal tshirts, shoes & snacks along the way.

If I change 1 million rupiah (today's rate is about rm286), is it enough? Or 1.5 million?

Guys, I have a dilemma here.

I will be visiting bali on april and uluwatu will be one of the place to visit. Currently I am thinking to stay in Ayana hotel or anantara hotel in uluwatu.

Anantara Hotel
1. RM900++ with ocean front view

Ayana Hotel
1. RM900++ with only deluxe ocean view
2. Have priority for rock bar

I really hope to stay at a hotel one night with stunning ocean view of Indian ocean. Does anyone has any opinion on this hotel or any recommendation?

i'd rather stay at another place with ocean view.. uluwatu's monkey's are really over agressive. sweat.gif then again there might not be monkeys in the hotel compound..

I am notified to prepare some money for donations to temple as it is compulsory at certain temples. May I ask roughly how much is the so call 'donation' cost?? Means I need to prepare lots of small cash?? >_<

Just FYI, the aggressive monkeys are not everywhere in Uluwatu, it is mostly at the Uluwatu temple. And there were absolutely no monkeys at Ayana. I didnt see any when i stayed there and i dont think there are any monkeys there.
