I'd finally managed to reserved 2 nights over at Tegal Sari. Heard highly of the place. Still have 3 more nights over at Kuta which I haven't book. Since this is my first trip over with my wife. M going for sightseeing plus relaxing. Any good boutique hotels to recommend along Kuta or nearby? Saw Kuta Beach Heritage which offers good location. Any advice? Cheers

hmm I dont have any experience about this bfore but Im sure that most of the resorts in bali can help u with this wedding occassion smile.gif
khrisna is like a general store for souvenir. u can find find most of the bali souvenir inside 1 building.
while sukowati and ubud market r the real pasar. if u have time and like to go around then these places r better option
*
Ya, I had checked online and found that Krishna are those souvenir outlets actually.
So I think my better bet would be Ubud and Sukuwati then. Thanks biggrin.gif

Krishna is selling most of their own products and can be a bit pricey. their t-shirts design are their own and i find it quite ugly with their big logo in the way. can always shop around in other places but be careful not to get slaughtered by the prices.
i spent about rm600 for 6 d 5n (per person)

thanks for the heads up and thanks for the luwak recommendation as i havent decided which one to go thumbup.gif

Hi, not an expert, but u might wanna skip kintamani or just pay the entrance fee.. They will try to get u to eat at the buffet which is not nice.. N after awhile, u will get tired of the view. Maybe tanah lot I should reserve it for the day u travel from ubud to kuta. It's nearer.. Also, most of the sites are nearer to go from ubud than from kuta..
Try to search on the map...

hi there, thanks for the recommendation on Kintamani. I am going next week.
Heard the same comment bout the buffet there. but other than then buffet is there anything else to eat over there?

Along the way i did c some small stalls.. To me if u go I think entrance fees is about rm5? Then u stay about 30mins n move on la.. Maybe u should just eat somewhere in ubud before going up?
The buffet that my drier bought me was full of flies.. N everything not nice to eat. Also, not always u will get the seating with view..
*
I found quite a few restaurant around Kintamani area which has the view.
Did u went to the lake? I saw quite a few talking bout lake view kintamani.
How much is the buffet again if you remember biggrin.gif

oops read wrongly. Oo when leaving only pay some ppl say the tax increase to 200k? is it true?
*
I just got back this morning. Yes, it's 200K/pax ... I only reserved 300K for two pax but luckily I have extra 50K. So the remaining 50K paid in MYR .. sweat.gif

They increased the tax from end of March 2014.

ok thank for the info.Do you have any suggestion where to eat seafood in jimbaran, reasonable price.
*
I went to Lia's Cafe .. affordable, good service and good food.
Make sure to arrive before 5pm to get a good seat. First row seat normally reserved for hotel patrons nearby unless u called up and make reservation. I was lucky that I was able to get second row seats even without reservation and just able to watch the sun set with my wife. Took the Package 1 from menu cost around 250K which includes prawns, clams, 1/2kg grilled fish, squids, a plate of vege, 2 coconuts drinks and dessert which is more than enuff for us.

PS: add 10% tax so it's 275K nett. Tripadvisor recommended too thumbup.gif

Found this place called Nasi Ayam Kedewatan Ibu Mangku over at Ubud. Cheap and nice. It's some sort like nasi dagang/campur. Has it's own restaurant but surprisingly no fan inside but quite windy at some point.

Another affordable place would be Bamboo Corner over at Legian. All sort of food from seafood, western to locals. Had their nasi ayam penyet. cheap and nice. lotsa backpackers and as usual tripadvisor approved.

My driver brought me to this place dewata cafe a bit pricey i say, 650k include tax [lobster set]
I went to this place also not very far from my hotel.I duno what that call look like sambal very hot.

And i found that the kopi luwak sell in those place that the tour guide bring is damn expensive compare to supermarket
*
I went to Sebatu Agro Tour which one of the forumer recommended.
It's really nice and near to Tagalang Rice Terrace .. Good view and the staffs are friendly and don't force u to buy anything. Got a tour of how they produce the luwak n the main attraction luwak himself being feed by me. haha~

650K a bit too pricey for my trip.
The most expensive dinner we had was 395K over at Maliboro Ayam Lunak on the first night.
We had two chickens, one steam fish, belacan vege, taufu and two drinks .. super full ..

I think only applies to those with own passport.

- Last minute we went Carrefour n bought lotsa foods like indomee sweat.gif

note:
Sukawati has the cheapest stuff. whatever price they offered, just slash like 60% or more depending on your budget. i got myself a big oil painting for less than 400K when they offered me 900K in the beginning .. js to show how much u can bargain.

Besakih Temple is the oldest and quite far from town (2hrs) so you won't miss much if you skip this since the ppl there not that friendly as compared to other temples. they will force u to "rent" their sarong no matter how you wear unless u got a sarong yourself (10K). somebody will forcefully ask u to engaged a tour guide which u can strongly reject and he will again asked for donation which you can say NO again. js go in n don't speak to anyone.

Lia's cafe, make sure u make reservation to have first row seats which they reserve. i managed to get second row cause i walked in n right before sunset. lucky me .. for two pax can order their 250K package which include fish, prawns, squids, clams, vege, coconuts etc.

Airport tax been increased to 200K/person since end of Apr 2014. So take note to save money or worst case like me you can pay in RM cash ... conversion rate is really good, better than money changer over there.
