May I know how you get a replacement ?
I use Xperia Z already 3 months. but I sent to Sony Service Centre on this tuesday because of the black dots (death pixels)
Can I request for a new set for replacement?

the best one is get a ori set.. since u already spent above rm1k or around rm2k for a phone.. why need to so care for diff 1xx-2xx price between AP and Ori set.. assume as a warranty claims lo.. something like buying insurance.. make ourselves not so worry..

both are actually good and original from sony technology.. just warranty provider different.. we cant know maybe one day our handphone suddenly malfunction after 3-4 months..

True. In terms of hardware , there is no difference between AP and 'ori' set. I say 'ori' because it should be local warranty set since theoretically, both devices are original. The only difference between them is, with an original set, you don't have to worry about warranty. Warranty is officially covered and they cannot give you excuses.

AP on the other hand, can come up with a hundred and one excuses from providing warranty on the device. In my opinion, it's better to pay the price difference so you'll have a peace of mind when using your device.

It's unfortunate to hear that. I guess since the hardware are the same, then XZ and XZL would both suffer from this defect.

Yup.. It's not dust actually. Hardware problem. I sent it to Plaza Berjaya Sony SC. They said need to wait min 3 working days. I got my new replacement unit after about 1 and half week. So far no problem. Still waterproof

If u were ask me on Ori or AP set, I would suggest, it would be better to get Authorised Distrubitors - Midlands / Thorus & Dynamic. Because u dont have hassle to claim warranty when u need one.

As for AP set, there few limitation when comes to claim warranty. Trust me, I have a very bad experiences when comes to AP set.

Found these spots but they could be the paper and not your camera.

You are right.. There two spots on the paper..

Then there is no issue with your camera. Do check from time to time as it doesn't appear immediately. It will appear randomly as what I heard from others.

Just an update over my case, I haven't got back my phone or get a replacement yet. Water probably damaged some part of the motherboard due to water ingestion after screen replacement.

so to fix the black dot camera lens issue,have to risk losing waterproof capabilities...macam mana nih

Some members claim that instead of their units being repaired, they're getting replacements. Depends on the luck. AP set users, are sadly out of luck.

Yes, u can go any Sony Service Centre..Bring a long ur warranty and receipt..
