I guess in order to make a fair comparison, both need to be run at the same time, downloading the same torrent at the same level. Therefore the number of seed/peers will be the same. We also know that at the early stage of downloading will normally be faster, since the chances of getting the piece required are more rather than at a later stage eg at 99%. Anybody volunteer to make the test?  biggrin.gif
*
run at the same time??
if run in same time... we cant do it becoz both it will sux many bandwidth
we juz can try to run the same torrent for around each hour in different time

if compare BitComet and µTorrent, on the No. of peer
BitComet win... thats what happen in my download task (btw, that task is JAV... sweat.gif )
BitComet can connect to 20 peer easily
but µTorrent cant even reach 10...
and BitComet can detect more peer that havent connected!!
thats juz what happen in my pc...

btw, i dun quite agree to test like this becoz every task got different result...

Try to increase the "Total Maximum Connections" in uTorrent.
*
hahaha laugh.gif
useless becoz we are throttle now
we cant even connect more than 100 peer in the condition now (except if all of the peer are Malaysian)

20 aledi normal for me
if more than 50 aledi is miracle
and the µTorrent settings in my pc is 55
<10 and 55 got huge different

although i set the value of the Max Peer Connect is 167 in BitComet
but that is also a impossible to reach value

Actually, Im quite confuse here, how solve it ?? any guide solutions for me ....thanks..sad.gif

of coz the problem is also due by throttle
but if suddenly become slow
then it also cause by the peer you connect too

how come? izzit really streamyx block torrent or izzit my my computer got problem wor...?
*
first, you know what is the "direct download" is??
if you direct download (http download) a file and get error
then what syafthegeek about the torrent block is not related

if you juz get until 99% of the file
and the flashget show X at the side
i think it is maybe the server down
QUOTE(laguna1811 @ Jun 11 2007, 09:06 PM)
under 'files', the operation method there say... '3.7%DiskIO Errorfile_t::read: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)'

btw, now bittorent can dl? mine always stop leh... and got the cyclic redundancy error msg again... cry.gif
*
try google and get this link
http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/cyclic-redundancy.html

it is your data or media problem
delete that file and download again
but after delete your file and before you trying to download again, scan your hdd first

go to My Computer > right click the hdd drive > Properties > Tools > Check Now
tick the "Automatically fix files system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors"
then restart

better way, buy new hdd smile.gif

and next time, please google first if you dunno what the problem

this is true...
But if you have good and reliable power supply, maybe your hdd will stay longer....
Just use a spare hdd to do the torrent stuff...
*
QUOTE(ronaldjoe @ Jul 24 2007, 05:42 PM)
Yup rite. Currently using another HDD for BT 24/7.
Not sure. But I believe SATA HDD with NCQ will stay longer.
Since Seagate give 5 years warranty. Then it should lor.  biggrin.gif
*
in Malaysia, especially with the screwmyx connection
it is almost impossible to harm your hdd by BT

your hdd will only be damage when there is high bandwidth of data send to your pc, and if only this situation continue for very long period
even you download with very high speed (>500kBps), you still can avoid your hdd been spoil by set higher value of disk cache in your BT client option

QUOTE(SCC @ Oct 11 2007, 01:11 AM)
Hi. ^^ I hope that someone can help me out.

I'm using BitComet 0.89.

In the list of the peers in a torrent, which is the 'Peers' window, if I'm not mistaken, the upper part of the seperator in the list is the peers that I'm connecting, while the lower part is the peers that are off9. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm juz guessing.

Besides, wat's the list of peers that appears occasionally between both of the upper part & lower part of the whole peers list wif 2 seperators at each side?

& the most important 1, at the main window of BitComet, which is the list of the torrents, has a column showing the number of seeds & peers.
The numbers outside the bracket are the seeds & peers connecting to u, while the peers & seeds inside the bracket indicates all the seeds & peers.

My question is is all the seeds & peers in the bracket indicates all peers currently on9 wif the torrent? & if so, why I can't connect to all peers? Is it bcoz of the client or other reason?

Plz kindly help answering my questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thx. ^^
*
answer for the first question...
the peer between "connected" and "not connected" is the peer that you "connecting"...

the 2nd question... I found the answer in your first question statement...
since that you know the peer list will display the offline peer... so why ask again? laugh.gif

Erm... I'm not asking for the peer list, but the 'Seed/Peer[all]' column. I know the 1st 2 numbers are the seed & peers currently connected to u. But how'bout the 2 numbers in the bracket? Is it showing all on9 seeds & peers? Or it includes off9 seeds & peers as well. & if it's showing on9 seeds & peers, why I can't connect to all seeds & peers?

Added on October 12, 2007, 12:43 am

I'm not sure'bout this. But I think it connect to it by default, so u dun've to worry'bout it, I guess.
*
I know what you mean actually
and the answer is really in the first question statement there laugh.gif

you already know the peer list will display offline peer. And of course, the peer no. in the bracket also will display the offline peer! sweat.gif

Oh, okay... Can't get it lar... if u dun tell me. Lol. Anyway, thx. ^^ So, this means that I'm always connecting to the peers that are on9? There's no more peer that I'm not connected to in the total number? If it's not, how can I know the exact number of peers that are on9?

In addition, the 'Peer Download' column in the Peers list indicates peers' download speed? Is it truly reflects their dl speed? It shows from time to time only, & their dl speed is way higher than mine.
*
of course you only can connect to the peer that online... sweat.gif

about how many peer that online... I don't know how to check...

the Peer Download indicate how fast that particular peer download speed
it is normal that other people faster than you because we are using screwmyx...

for further discussion about the connection speed, please discuss in Broadband User-2-User

QUOTE(SCC @ Oct 13 2007, 09:28 AM)
I dun think my download speed is slower is bcoz of my connection speed. My connection speed is perfectly nice almost all the time. But other peers' download speed really outperform mine, but the peers' speed is not always shown. So, I suspect that the program juz added up all the dl speed over the time & juz appear once or twice in a period.
*
(I assume you are using screamyx)

of course their speed is better than you
if you still don't know what I mean, then please look at here

it is ISP problem, not the BT client problem
QUOTE(SCC @ Oct 13 2007, 09:28 AM)
But I'm not sure whether this is true or not lar, as there might be other peers that on9, which I didn't connect to.
*
of course, especially after tmnuts have throttle our P2P traffic... you cannot connect to more peer even though they are online...
if you start to use BT before last year October (I think is October... or maybe before October?? tongue.gif ) we can easily to connect to >150 peer
but after the nuts start to throttle P2P network, I can only connect to 20 peers (at max) sad.gif

I think after you read the Wikipedia article, should have no more problem...... thumbup.gif

what package of screwmyx you subscribe for?
and is there many peer in that downloading task??

I'm using the RM44 package...ya, there are 3-5 peers on some tasks
*
RM44 = 512/256kbps
mean your download speed will not more than that 64kBps

but you got more than that??? blink.gif
or the 60-70kbps you mean is kilobit instead of kiloByte??

Added on January 22, 2008, 11:06 pmand for me, I didn't achieve high speed with 3-5 peer only in a task... but you can get high speed???
