Guides/FAQRules and Regulations:
  • DO NOT DISCUSS WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD. Only BT clients, URLs and problems are allowed. Offenders will get a warning.
  • Related to the statement above, please DO NOT post question regarding why your file(s) downloaded through BT cannot be open; we're not providing support for the content that you've downloaded from BT. Check this thread if the file extension is new to you.
  • Please read the first post before asking question like "My BT download so slow (around 10KBps), can anyone help? sad.gif "
  • This is NOT a torrent sharing thread. In other words, refrain from posting question such as "Does anyone know where to download Small Ville Season 1 episode 3?"
  • Lowyat.NET BitTorrent Policy applies at all times.
Important Notes
  • Bragging posts on miscapped (legally or illegaly) WILL NOT be tolerated. Your post will be deleted and if repeated, you would be warned.
  • Maximum speeds of a 1Mbps (Megabits/second) connection is 128KB/s (Kilobytes/second) while a 512Kbps (Kilobits/second) connection is 64KB/s (Kilobytes/second) without any overheads taken into account and with your line being in a perfect condition. This is a theoretical maximum value and would never be achievable under real-life conditions.
  • Usual maximum speeds should be generally be 5-10% lower than the speed stated above, so do not expect for miracles to happen even with numerous performance

so i switched to u torrent though it's abit faster (like 20-30 kbs) . i used to get 60-70 on my bit comet. and now this is what happened

Have you patched your tcpip.sys to solve connection speed?
Try removing BitComet and then restart computer before starting µtorrent again. The file handles for those 2 files are locked by some other programs.

When in SP1, did you have the same problem? Did you user WinXP dialer or use your modem as a router?

Any public tracker will do, such as The Pirate Bay tracker.
Has to upload first though to that tracker.

Else, just rely on DHT.

i solved the problem but now i encounter another problem again.
my speed is very very slow(10-20) after changing to aztech 600ew modem...
i get around 50 something last time...
is it because the router limited the incoming connections? if so how do i change it?
If i allow too many connections to connect in utorrent, i will have problem browsing the net..
I didnt use WinXP dialer.*

Have you done port-forwarding?
Maybe your router modem is the limit.

Not really. Some routers are just better at BT than others.
Maybe you should try using WinXP dialer to see whether you can get improved result. If yes, then definitely you should use a better modem.

What brand it is?

Maybe you should reduce the number of connections per torrent.

Just set the apropriate settings in your BT client and it should do so automatically.

µtorrent takes its own sweet time to do it though. BitComet and Azureus does it much faster.

Does that improves the download speed?

30 is probably too low and prevented you to achieve top speed in the littlest time as possible. Try making it 50. Experiment so that you find the highest number without making the modem hang.

Hi,
Can someone please teach me how to port forward the 600ew? i tried www.portforward.com but i couldn't find help for this model.

I'm using utorrent and my avarage download speed is 8-15kb/s, upload is about 20kb/s more. I've patched my tcpip.sys. Will port forwarding improve the download speed? or is there any other tweaks i must do?
