what sorcery is this!!!

HEHE

amazing stuff but then again, the 5.5 inch screen is really too small IMHO

i would rather have this in a landscape note 10.1
*
This I agree. We need a 6"+ to properly use multi windows, and the Android UX should allow for resizable scrollbars, title bars and such to reduce wastage of screen real estate.

Looks like Note to me. Bigger  tongue.gif

Yeah, almost zero bezel on the top ...... I will wager quite a few cracked screens from those naked/slim cover types tongue.gif

ADDED: Just got an ebay promo mail today ... Note 2 at RM1599, SME, within Malaysia....

ADDED: This morning there was a G+ post on phonearena about leaked GN3 shots but it seems to have been completely pulled, it's not even showing on their home page.

Maybe LYN was quick to copy the pics. I saw various other pics around other sites as well.

however, the new lumia looks tempting with its superb camera that occupies the whole rear, as compared to the extremely fugly distorted alien phone, S4 Zoom

Some people may like it, some may find it creepy:

Google Now is Changing Everything About Mobile Technology
http://androidheadlines.com/2013/06/ah-pri...technology.html

.......
Today I ran out of milk. Instead of writing out a shopping list I just held down the home button on my Galaxy Nexus, said “Google” and then “the next time I’m at Aldi’s remind me to buy milk.” That was it. Google knows I frequent the Aldi’s closest to my house, and it will know to remind me to buy milk when I pull into the parking lot. In fact, my entire shopping list will pop up on my phone the next time I pull into the Aldi parking lot and as I put each item into my shopping cart I’ll swipe that card away.

This is just the beginning. Google Now on your phone, tablet and desktop computer is just the start. Next we will see Google Now on Google Glass as well as other wearable technologies.

Oh.

Google Now is one of nearly all of the Google apps that I uninstalled.

My memory is fine; my ability to navigate the world with all its errands is ship shape.

Don't need Google knowing what I'm doing; where I am or what I'm buying...in order to feed me ads to me for crap I don't want or need.

Oh wait, I block those ads.

My OS is super fast and the battery goes forever now that their bloatware is gone.

Google is as bad or worse than GOV in its info harvesting.

Everybody's busy it seems smile.gif thread slowed down considerably from last week. However this seems to be happening across the board for all the other flagships as well.

Note 2 as an 8-month old device to still remain on almost equal footing with 1-3month old devices here in LYN is remarkable testament to Samsung and what it did for the Note 2.

Still, tech moves on and there seems to be serious upcoming phablet + stylus competition, and it will really be interesting. Do we remain with Samsung or try something else?

Which led to lots of Wakelocks.

Probably catchup sync from the last few days where you switched it off.

Maybe nehalem176 can advise.

Linus Torvalds, Father of Linux, Grandfather of Android:

http://paritynews.com/software/item/1109-l...s-their-mothers
"Linus Torvalds has released Linux 3.10-rc5, and he is certainly not happy with the changes merged last week. Rc5 is bigger than rc4 and has code scattered across its entire code base because it addresses many outstanding problems. In the release announcement, Torvalds noted, 'I wish I could say that things are calming down, but I'd be lying. rc5 is noticeably bigger than rc4, both in number of commits and in files changed (although rc4 actually had more lines changed, so there's that).' Torvalds has warned that he is going to start cursing again, and said, 'I'm going to call you guys out on, and try to come up with new ways to insult you, your mother, and your deceased pet hamster.'"

S4 was selling at the same site at 1899 last week of May, this week it is 1799... this is also hammer on the Note 2 price slightly.

This year the models are coming fast and furious, even more so than last year. HTC and Sony have started putting up a credible fight, and this time I think Samsung will make some mistakes in desperation or hubris.

However as long as the next iteration of the Note is good enough to fend off the competition (removable battery, microsd) then I'll stick with the Note.

Check in advanced.Haven't tried llama. Better ask someone who using it. From your screenshot, don't see any update sync interval. I prefer clever connectivity. Easy and straight foward.
*
This one?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...nectivity&hl=en

Seems straightforward:

Description
CleverConnectivity is an application that helps you to manage your data and wifi connection in order to save battery. NO ROOT NEEDED.

IF SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE GIVING A BAD RATING. I am giving all these features for free, please be comprehensive.

How does CleverConnectivity work?

This application will automatically turn on and off connectivity (data/wifi/sync) while screen is OFF.
For example if the user chooses below configuration:
Time On: 2min
Time On Next Check: 1min
Time Off: 10m
Usage check Interval: 3s
Once the screen is OFF, CleverConnectivity will keep connectivity alive for 2min. Then it will check if data is used during a period of 3s.
If data is used, connectivity will be kept for 1 minute (Time On Next Check).
If data is NOT used, connectivity will be desactivated for 10min. After this, the connectivity will be re-activated and Time On will kick in.
Once screen is ON, connectivity will be automatically re-enabled.

How does this CleverConnectivity is different from its concurrents:

- You can turn on/off connectivity (wifi/data/sync) everywhere in the system (settings, toggles on notification bar...) and will be taken into consideration by CleverConnectivity

- CleverConnectivity can check data usage before disable it. Therefore your downloads/streaming won't be stopped

- CleverConnectivity can also manage your wifi connection

- It's very lightweight and efficient. You just have to install it and configure it and then forget it. It will do it work silently and efficiently.

- It's free! It contains all features of the paid version. The only difference is the presence of ads. If you want to support me, then you can buy the no ads version.

Details of features:

- Configuration of ON-OFF cycle (Time On, Time Off, Usage Interval Period)
- Disable/Enable connectivity (Wifi/Data/Sync)
- Enable/disable management of Data/Wifi/Sync connectivity
- Sleep Hours: During these hours, all connectivity will desactivated one screen is OFF
- Auto Wifi-Off: Wifi will be disabled after after a defined period if screen is OFF and no known networks are available
- Possibility to read logs generated by the app
- Possibility to deactivate the app while the phone is plugged. The ON-OFF cycle will resume once the phone is unplugged

If you have any question/issue about CleverConnectivity, please use the "Report a bug" button.

Hope you will enjoy CleverConnectivity!

Heheh ..... I got a 7" tablet in the belief that I would split my use case. It turned out not to be so..... Note 2 serves almost all my use cases. I;m only using my tablet as a secondary phone.

Now waiting for Note 3, or perhaps an equivalent 6"+ (less than 7") that is still pocketable with an active digitizer drool.gif

10" ABSOLUTELY cannot be pocketed and even using a manbag you need a large one. Rather unwieldy.

7" is still pocketable if you don't have tight pants...

Do we suffer from this?

How smartphones and tablets affect your sleep
http://www.phonearena.com/news/How-smartph...r-sleep_id43857

Are you a smartphone owner and having trouble catching those ZZZZZs at night? You might have to blame the lack of sleep on your handset or tablet. According to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, exposure to the light from a tablet could drop the body's melatonin levels by 23%. For those who ironically slept through high school, melatonin is a naturally occurring substance in the human body that helps a person get to sleep by telling the body when it is dark and time for rest. The institute studied 13 volunteers aged 20 to see how a tablet placed by the bedside affected sleeping habits.

According to the Emory sleep disorders laboratory, you should refrain from using your tablet or phone before bedtime because the light from the tablet shines directly into your eyes. Even the famous Mayo Clinic got into the act last week by suggesting that tablet and phone users turn the light down on their slates before bedtime. The Clinic said that devices emitting more than 30 lux in light can affect melatonin levels in the body.

Will it affect too?

Maybe you could write in to the clinic (Mayo, Emory) and become a test subject. You can get paid quite well for them to run a few tests on you and all you need to do is sleep !!!! The Mayo Clinic is a world famous medical research center. Paid vacation in the US bro !!!

IOS keynote 1AM today. Lets see whats in store for the next IOS. Not expecting a redesign in the way we interact with the system, but just a "theme" redesign. Apple is not the kind of company who likes to radically change stuff. Really hope they have gestures on iphone and ipod rather than just on the ipad. At least, i can then run a non jailbreak build. C'mon apple!!
*
Since they've been so uptight after MacOS was born, I don't think they will become any less uptight in such a short time after Jobs.

The sneak/leak of the supposed theme is so meh.....and I am pretty sure they will have no widgets. And "more ways to share" ..let's see what's that all about.
