some game changer like how haswell will be

so

1. massive new CPU+GPU processor with 50% improvement in battery life in any condition
2. new 4K screen
3. new micro USB 3.0
4. SSD speed internal memory (like how apple is doing PCI-e chips, so about 700MB/s)
5. massive new camera tech. either Ultrapixel like or PureView type, doesn't matter. They need DSLR quality on a sub 7mm chassis.
6. sapphire crystal manufactured on the cheap with gorilla glass flexi tech
*
The SoC probably supports USB3 natively but you will need a new fatter connector. I suspect it will not be so soon until they come up with some connector that can carry USB3 without changing size, like what they did for the USB A connector (the one you plug to the PC USB port).

What more surprises have you got in store for us, O Prophet?

and as joytest said... maybe for Note... it's reached the top and maybe no more surprises?
*
Well, if everybody stops looking at it as a phone and more of a computer, it already has about 90% functionality of a computer and a dumb terminal (TeamViewer, Kainy, JumpDesktop etc).

The only main difference is perception of aesthetics, because it is handheld and not a laptop type form factor.

Some statement floating around on the net says that the smart soldier does not carry a gun with a non-removable magazine, should a smart phone-user then carry a phone with a non removable battery?

Notice the difference in semantics between :
smart phone user, and
smartphone user

7. surprise accessories (please samsung dewa, give us wireless charging, docks)
mydragoon: we dun have wireless charging yet? but we can easily just get some accessories, no?
nope we don't officially. maybe inertial charging?

alexng2208

So everybody has to make some motion to charge the phone?

Since it's Samsung, doing the Gangnam Style can charge your phone 200% faster then? tongue.gif

EDIT: I think the correct term is kinetic energy charging?

anybody familiar with tasker? normally when going to sleep, i would turn my wifi off (data already disabled), clear my recent apps, and clear my note 2 memory. is it possible to have a profile that mimic these actions?

maybe when i'm about to sleep, just activate the profile (using widget) then can go to sleep. smile.gif

See post 12 there are tutorials for tasker.

This is too much, but if that's what the lowest bar is like next year, well, I'm not complaining:

1080p is not enough: high-end smartphones in 2014 may feature 6-inch 1600 x 2560-pixel screens
http://www.phonearena.com/news/1080p-is-no...screens_id44135

alexng2208 all your current pr0n will be so pixelated on that screen, time to get a BluRay collection of them for the upcoming hi res screens.

Sony Togari / ZU being announced next week?

Sony Xperia ZU phablet scores more than the Snapdragon 800 Galaxy S4, breaks every record
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sony-Xperia...-record_id44136

Sony's Xperia ZU phablet is expected to be unveiled very soon, and be the first brand-name device with the scorching fast Snapdragon 800 chipset, unless Korean versions of the Galaxy S4 with the same processor don't beat it to market.

Needless to say, the quad-core Snapdragon 800 blasts everything out there when it comes to synthetic benchmarks, and will probably blur the line between tablets, phones and basic notebooks even further. This was confirmed by the leaked S4 benchies earlier and is now reiterated with a leaked screenshot from AnTuTu, which show 31491 points.

Now a screenshot of the Sony Xperia ZU has leaked on a dedicated forum thread, displaying the record-breaking 32173 AnTuTu points, which makes us really long to see the handset in action. Next Tuesday is not far off, so we should know more about the ZU then, unless Sony decides to announce it beforehand.

===========================

If so, I don't think Samsung will sit still. The Note 3 will cum on us early. Hope it won't be premature. whistling.gif

hmm, this seems legit.

Yeah, which part? I mean, sensor malfunction is probably due to those full screen protectors with no cutouts for the sensor cluster. Proper SPs have a cutout section for the sensor cluster.

What app? Please enlighten this uncle.

EDIT: Oh, the app to unlock the download.......and will it be DRM laden ?

The trailer sounds extremely discordant. blink.gif

Hi all
2 questions:
1) if you dont like the upgrade, can you revert back to previous rom?
2) if you upgrade can you just use current available methods to root the new rom?
Thanks.
*
1. If you are on stock, revert by flashing via odin. If you are on some other custom rom, reflash nandroid.
2. So far nobody has reported any failures from rooting any ROM version. Samsung is not DRM trigger happy.

Thanks for the reply joytest.

I will try to root mine using dr.ketan method 1 (Root with Stock Recovery). Hopefully it will be ok.

The hardest part is the reading and understanding. Doing it takes only 5mins.

I think some people have tried with no ill effects however it doesn't mean that it's 100% safe since we're dealing with electricity.
