Actually end of last year (or earlier this year?), a bro here was selling a damaged box set ... I was contemplating go or no go into train... then someone already wallop it  blink.gif

That was the time my anti-venom was still working ... Then crumbled ... defense -10, str -5, cons -5  sad.gif

ohya, to motorized it with RC, I think need another few hundred RM  rclxub.gif
*
for me i feel the lego without box feel awkward, its like going out without underwear wink.gif
but all depend on each individual. as i do collect my lego box after open it smile.gif

when u spend 1k on lego train, i don't see u got a problem on buying the motor and those RC.

somebody can help to bring in more PF motor and light and RC ? else i try to bring in if got ppl request since many train poison people here nod.gif

For UK/Euro purchases, make sure you can get the VAT refund. Then its worth it. Otherwise its pricier. Sometimes some sets are cheaper compared to USA after VAT refund. SO if you really hardworking, go check brickset, see the retail prices for those countries and do a comparison.

Otherwise, take the easy way out, let the reseller make your money here...  tongue.gif

Lol most probably gonna do some price comparison first. Was just wondering if UK sets are any cheaper lol. Will PM you in due time tongue.gif

chasing train is like chasing ships. very dangerous and very expensive. so I skipped the old ones. tongue.gif

The challenge is to control all 4 trains at once with 1 remote moving in 1 circuit. I tried with 3 once and i think can its a train accident waiting to happen... so to make the task easier, better to buy more tracks.. tongue.gif

Faster take pics and show la whistling.gif

Building a city ... will cost a lot... base plates. Then add harbour.
Then add airport.
Then police station series.
Then fire dept series
Then hospital, ambulances, ...
Then other buildings like 10184 (warning: poison, don't search)
Then city accessories stuff ... a lot of small packs / boxes
Then ... then ... city goes bankrupt tongue.gif

Therefore, ... better don't follow this thread  tongue.gif
*
I'm still missing airport, hospital and lots of base plates. Of course like what bro Lego_Jason said, you will always be "upgrading" your city to make it look contemporary and modern hahaha

Horizon express also falls off easily. One day while I was choo chooing suddenly the loco's lid went missing. Quietly it fell off at another side of the rail!

Bringing in PF is a good news to me.hehe. just the nonrechargable would do since rechargable is just too expensive.

QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ Jun 3 2013, 06:17 PM)
Hi, like what the sifus have said earlier, you can still get 3677 at a 'decent' price so if it's to your liking you should aim for that first. Not everyone like the 3677, most prefer 7939 and 7938.

You will most likely end up with Power Functions so 7938 and 7939 will be a good start. 10233 doesn't come with Power Functions and will be funny when you have other trains zooming round the circuit and the 10233 needs to be pushed along... lol! You will need to consider adding Power Functions once you get 10233, that will come later but you should expect this to happen because you need it, not by choice...

10219 Maersk Train and 10194 Emerald Night are considered "exotic" now so if you want to save your wallet you should steer clear of them.... In fact, don't even look up those set numbers! You will seriously regret!!! First regret for looking, second regret for not buying them sooner, third regret for having to pay $$$ for them... Regret betul! doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  lol!

Jokes aside, there will always be newer trains to be released by Lego. Who knows, with both 10219 and 10194 retired and market in short supply of these two 'classics' there is a chance a new classic train will be released soon...

You're right, building a Lego City is a labour of love (my wife definitely do not share this view!:x) and frankly it will never be complete because it is ever changing with new buildings/features being added and dismantled... The fun and joy is really in the process of building. biggrin.gif

I think superhero cities (or lack of) easier to build... let everything half build + rubbles. A city is never pristine when there are supervillains and superheroes treating it like a playground.
