the tesco LEGO promotion "gimmick" is misleading. first they put huge signs pointing to discounted stuff. with close inspection they're MOSTLY in retail pricing , except of a few which occupy 10% of the shelf .. and that only it showed the before + discounted pricing. even that also they pointed at the wrong sets. U just gotta compare the set number with the tiny pricetag lining the shelf to confirm their actual pricing.

Finalized last Sat! Again, I'm building one of my favorite triple changer from G1 Transformers.
One of the hardest part is making the rifle/weapons for this guy to be pegged nicely onto both vehicle modes. that took me 2 days! Still in the process of editing photos (and the bot mode photos haven't taken yet). Here's a few Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ May 29 2013, 04:01 PM) This set looks like a cross between goblin king and attack of the wargs. and it looks too simple to be a UCS. But then again, SW rake in big bucks for Lego. SImply come out with something also ppl will sapu. worse case scenario, sell at 50%!!! I noticed recently LEGO designers/company have been going ga-ga over trees recently. In almost every theme, there are sets with model of trees. I've gotten sick of building tree after the Monster Fighter werewolf. really cannot tahan the similar colored brown parts + unsatisfying building techniques . its NOT FUN at all |

QUOTE(maxilife1 @ Jun 4 2013, 10:52 AM) nice view I think superhero cities (or lack of) easier to build... let everything half build + rubbles. A city is never pristine when there are supervillains and superheroes treating it like a playground.building city is expensive my plan was to build superheroes city..but dont know how..hahaha |

QUOTE(aba9785 @ Jun 4 2013, 09:49 AM) this is from 10236 Ewok Village The ewoks are sure a brutal lot, to make such bridges.. they have to butcher the army droids and chop off their arms . Wondered what happened to the rest of the bodies ![]() i never thought we can build a bridge like this... simply amazing...feel like trying this,Ā (after i clean up my place) what do u all think? is it good? or easy to make? QUOTE(aba9785 @ Jun 5 2013, 09:45 AM) hmm... i got a question/request for suggestion for vey99, alanyuppie and all the brothers/sister here. Try one first. sometimes u wont know the "feel" unless you do a test-run on how your lego-picking habit will be like . I find small parts to be hard to dig from deep compartment (that's why I'm still using shallow and wide trays , dozens of them). I only put specialised /weird shaped parts (tyres, technic beams and exoforce /bionicle parts) in deep trays coz I only need to "browse" them once to collect my required parts for MOC (for eg. snag 4 tires if want to build race car). For repeated browsing during the MOC-ing process.. shallow trays = bigger footprint = easier to locate parts on the fly.currently i got quite many small parts...all sorted by color and put in those rm5 daiso tupperware but the problem i face = hard to find/retrieve/get those smaller part (2x2, 1x2 stud, connector n so on) so i went to look around for those multi compartment thing. i saw carrefour/tesco/giant selling something like this (but it's 25 small drawer like, refer the first 2 row of the image below) maybe i should get 2 of those and stack them up? (selling rm18-rm20 each) then put those smaller brick part there? (since i'm still doing house keeping for my stuff/toy/room) is it a good solution? please share This post has been edited by alanyuppie: Jun 5 2013, 09:20 AM |

QUOTE(aba9785 @ Jun 5 2013, 10:27 AM) thank you for the reply... row 1 ,4,5 sounds good coz they're categorized properly. i'm using those tray as well. very useful but my table getting clustered everyday (still cleaning them though) assuming i'm getting 1 of those multi compartment... it's 5 row, 5 drawer in 1 row type. can i sort them by this way? row 1 = those smaller 1x1 stud, plates, etc. plant/flower stuff row 2 = 2x2, 2x1 stud, plates, etc row 3 = 3x1, 4x1, 4x2 stud, plates, etc row 4 = all those connector/joints/hinge row 5 = funny/weird bricks, printed parts, does it make sense to you? /in before i'm got Obsessiveācompulsive disorder (OCD) As for row 2 and 3, you must train yourself to remember the plates dimension to avoid looking at the wrong location. since they're many plate sizes (2x3, 2x4, 4x6 ).. u might confuse yourself. My current categorization tray 1) everything plates 1x1 and 1x2 (including modified ones with clips) tray 2) everything plate 1x n longer than 2. 1x3 until 1x16 ... I call them" sticks" . the rest of the plates and "normal bricks" are sorted by color. If the plate are too big , eg 8x8 (I know I hardly gonna use it.).. all will end up in "unloved" tray with other huge parts. LOL. Big parts on top of much smaller ones will block the view, so gotta isolate them. |

QUOTE(zoomckng @ Jun 6 2013, 11:11 AM) Most toys deterioates due to the simple reason of them being mainly plastic. I've had a few LEGO parts that gotten discolored in my pile , even without exposure to sunlights . And when I tried to use it... its so brittle and snapped.I just want good quality toys that last me 10 - 20 years that'll be good enuff. China imitation LEGOs have inconsistence quality and "kualiti tak bertempat". Just pick up any LEGO KOs mech. I welcome their joint tightness (compared to LEGO)... but the KO ball joints are so damn tight until I broke one when I applied excessive force to rotate them. And when some parts gets connected together... say bye bye to ever getting them off again. Try acid to dissolve and loosen the pegs, anyone? LOL. |
