QUOTE(malakus @ Jul 9 2013, 07:15 AM)
Hello, I'm surveying for a rig, below is the build suggested by Zhen^Wei
I want a total rig without the OS.. Budget is such as above. The purpose of this rig is gaming

I see there's Zotac GTX770 2GB AMP! and Zotac GTX770 4GB.. How much difference is the cards from the 770 2gb? I've seen the benchmark for 770 2gb amp! but not 770 4gb.. And will 770 2gb amp! or 770 4gb fit the build above ?
*
Go for 4GB only when multi monitor or 1440/1600p gaming, 2GB will do the trick in 1080p, u wont so that much performance increase either way. smile.gif

I see, so its better to get the 2gb. Preferably the Zotac amp! version right?
*
Yup, amp! Has the highest factory overclocked speed, priced reasonable and extended warranty. smile.gif

Well, u could save slightly on some stuffs.

Asrock H87 Pro4 rm319 if u like ATX
Asrock B85M Pro4 rm279 if u dont mind M-ATX

Since you're not going to OC anyway.

G.Skill 8gb 1600mhz value ram rm175 as performance ram wont effect games performance.

Change GPU to Zotac GTX770 amp! wont increase your budget this way.

2120??

i3-2100 / 2120 is Sandy bridge counterpart while i3-3210 / 3220 is with Ivy bridge. Different between 3210 & 3220, only clock speed. Go for 3220 if u're hunting for new processor.

Thanks mav..however there's few questions pop up on my mind thou

1) Will 550w psu enough for this setup?

2) Will this setup sufficient enough to handle GTA IV and the upcoming GTA V?

3) Does it need another extra cooler? Because it's a gaming rig and i scare it will overheat too fast.

Thanks in advance for any constructive feedbacks ye=) Looking forward for it
*
1. 550w is sufficient for the setup, dont worry bro. If u prefer more juice, switch to Seasonic S12II 620w for rm299.

2. GTA IV is piece of cake. tongue.gif Cant really comment on GTA V as we have to see how it go when available, good port or bad port, who knows. biggrin.gif

As for current games, probably no problem maxing out 90% games out there at 1080p.

3. Well, pick up a few Arctic F12 case fan for cases and you're good to go. As for proc, just settle with stock cooler as its not overclockable, stock heatsink will do the job fine. smile.gif

Fellow bros,is it worth it to buy the whole gaming rig at idealtech or assemble yourself?
*
If u bought the whole rig with them, let them handle the assembly job, they will do a great job not to mention clean cable management. smile.gif
