Just wondering can i fit a Palit GTX780 Super Jetstream into the gaming rig you mention above?

Does it differ alot with the normal GTX780?
*
Gonna cost +-rm200 more, performance wise GTX780 SJ would stay close to Titan. Dont saw any reseller selling thou.

Mind giving me recommendation?

[Budget] RM 2.5 - 3.5k

[Purpose] Gaming (COD, some latest games like AC3 etc.), general student use (future engineering student)

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] None!

[Monitor resolution] I think somewhere around 1600 x 900 OR 1920 x 1080

[Game or software that use frequently]:
List of games I currently have:
COD Blops 2
Borderlands 2
Witcher 1 & 2
Sniper Ghost Warrior 1 & 2

List of games I plan to get:
BF4
AC 3
Hitman Absolution

For software, I think AutoCAD is a must. But it doesn't really need a super powerful PC.

[Personal Preference Brand]: None at all. But I prefer if my GPU wasn't from Asus.

[Location]: Labuan.. Might buy some parts here and some parts overseas. However, budget will remain the same biggrin.gif

Wanna ask, if I have enough money for a 7k ++ rig, are there any overkill in this build? Since I'll only be using single monitor at 1920 x 1080 and I personally think I don't need too much of a beast biggrin.gif
Anything that I can do to save some budget from the graphic card?
Planning to do slight overclock as well with H100i or a custom loop smile.gif

General use:
1. Gaming (Latest games and plan to get BF4 and COD: Ghost)
2. Some video editing
3. Engineering students uses (Dunno what yet)

CPU: i7 4770k
Mobo: Asus z87 Sabertooth
GPU:
Option 1: GTX 780
Option 2: HD 7970 in crossfire (Someone suggested this for me, i personally think that it is overkill)
Option 3: HD7990 (A lot of free games! Yay!)
PSU: Corsair AX860
Sound card: Asus Essence STX
SSD: Kingston HyperX 120gb
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB
Ram: Kingston hyperX Beast 16gb

The case will be bought later on biggrin.gif
*
7k? I have that in my dream . laugh.gif

If i have those budget,

i7-4770k rm1039
MSI Z87-GD65 rm649
Corsair Vengeance Pro Dual Channel 2x8gb rm599
Plextor M5 Pro 120gb SSD rm429
WD Caviar Red 2tb rm355
Rosewill Tachyon 750w rm539
2x Zotac GTX770 amp! 2gb Sli rm2998
XSPC Raystorm 750 RS240 watercooling kit rm499

Total : rm7007

Or u may settle with just 1 GTX780 and Tachyon 650w that save u about 1k cash. tongue.gif

Save up and u will get there tongue.gif

Hmm, I don't really want to get an SLI set up and right now, I am leaning more towards the single HD7970 config. biggrin.gif
I just add a powerful PSU incase I plan on an upgrade in the future. I guess I had Asus Sabertooth as my choice mobo because I am more a TUF series fanboy biggrin.gif
*
Haha, well my rig does serve me well, dont think will upgrade it for a year or so.

Sabertooth is sexy indeed but i like dragon more, pairing up with MSI GTX770 TF Gaming is sort of heavenly match. biggrin.gif

Well i do think GTX770 performance better yet more power efficient.

is it possible to build SLI gtx760s with budget 3000-3500 without monitor and ssd? or is it better to get a single 770 at around the same budget? for hardcore gaming purpose... i heard SLIs are generally unstable... Please advise tq ^^
*
A single GTX770 is the way to go, less power draw and heat reproduction. Sli setup are generally stable but suffer from microstuttering issues. smile.gif

Hi, kalian sifu pls look through my list and see if it makes sense

Empty slots in 2nd choice fall back to first choice items.
Empty slots in 1st choice means vacated.

Which option is better? I guess I'm not too obsessed with bootup speed coz my startup items quite lean one, but I'm sure SSD has benefits other than bootup speed.

Main purposes are some gaming (coming from an Inspiron 1520 lappie) and light 3D modelling (not intense, just basic models).

Well bro if u more into gaming and some 3D modelling, take a peak at intel build as your budget allowed it.

Yup, but i think quad core A8 + 7560D will perform fairly good for your requirement.

And yes, just like bro hmwgbworld mentioned, a good cpu followed by a decent gpu preferred. smile.gif

Hello need opinion for my planning on this build. I need help on reducing the cost but with none or a little less performance drop from the current specs: *mainly for gaming*,

CPU:Intel i5-4670K
MOBO: MSI Z87-G45
RAM: Kingston/Corsair Value RAM DDR3-1600Mhz (2x4GB)
Casing: Cooler Master USP100
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
HDD: WD 7200RPM 1TB
PSU: Seasonic S12 620W
Optical Drive: Generic DVD+RW
GPU:Zotac GTX770 AMP!

Notes+Question:

1)I have doubt if i really need K based processor. If not i might choose i5-4570.
2)I might stay with non-sli option so is there any cheaper MOBO but without bottlenecking GPU performance out there?
3)If i chose non K processor do i still need custom CPU Cooler such as the Hyper 212 EVO?
4)Is my PSU overkill?
5)Should i choose the AMP! version for the GPU?

Thank You.
*
1st of all, your setup is fine on the paper.

1. If u're not into overclocking, go for i5-4570 / i5-4670. But your CPU + mobo combination is actually very good. biggrin.gif
2. Motherboard wont actually bottlenecked your GPU performance, as in (1), might as well settled with Asrock H87 Performance or B85 motherboard for cost cutting.
3. Stock cooler is sufficient but why not, as lower operating temperature on CPU are always welcomed. I believe Cooler Master Hyper 212 X are more ideal. tongue.gif
4. Nope, its fine as it is.
5. One of the fastest GTX770 out there and bonus 2+3 years warranty, most important, very reasonable pricing. smile.gif
