I have family package plan (postpaid). Is that counted?
Btw family package got free data? I cannot find in the net.

You will need to have 2GB or more data plan subscribed first before can do this.

As much as I enjoy playing with nexus 7 , I don't have much time to fully utilize the full HD screen. Looking to sell it off at a loss. Any takers ? Xd

Which SenQ you bought your unit? I went to the one in Hartamas and IOI this week. No stock sad.gif
*
I got mine from Boulevard Kuching, Sarawak. Went to few other outlets also out of stock. So I was lucky to get one. I really like the build quality of the tab, especially the back.

RM 15 is affordable, rather than signing up a new data plan. smile.gif
Yes, need Maxis plan first before adding SIM card.

Anyone knows if you are on Maxis 3G data plan 3Gb quota, can we use the existing sim on Nexus 7 LTE or have to change to LTE compliant SIM? Any charges for changing LTE sim? I can't seem to find any info on Maxis FAQ.

The more hours I spent with this nexus, the more I fall in love with it. Yes is a great tablet on earth. This LTE version rocks my Sim data plan perfectly as I need data to surf & ability to send SMS. Not want to make call. Perfectly fit my requirement....I'm a more happy & satisfied customer....

Only if you cannot detect LTE, then you will need to change. Else, you are not required to change as Maxis has registered many old SIM cards into LTE HLR.

Thanks for your feed-back. So it depends if your old sim is registered with LTE HLR? You will only know when you plug in your sim into nexus.. BTW, what's HLR?

Yes. smile.gif
But if you can change, then change, no harm because that guarantees you are having LTE enabled SIM card. smile.gif
HLR = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Location...ister_.28HLR.29
It is basically a hub that stores all the SIM cards' details and etc.

Well, I think it makes more sense for Maxis to register existing sim into HLR, rather than asking customer to change new sim. smile.gif Just a thought!

Well, registering old SIMs into new HLR only happens in the recent few months, not sure if they have completed this exercise. Long time I didn't check this with my engineer colleagues. tongue.gif
I changed mine much much earlier when LTE was rolled out and immediately I got LTE while others had to wait for some time. tongue.gif
Being the usual kiasu me. laugh.gif

Changing a SIM is as easy as ABC these days, immediate activation.
Anyway, of course nothing beats the convenience of using back the old SIM. If you are in LTE area and cannot detect LTE (providing using LTE device) from your SIM, you have no choice but to change to a newer batch of SIM. smile.gif

Good luck!

directd seems to be offering the best price so far. They have 0% interest-free plan as well, but the one-time processing fee is $95 (12 months) for the Nexus 7 32Gb LTE ($1188). Nexus 7 16Gb WIFI ($919)
