hmmm
for real 'classic' leather scents that international perfuminstas actually recommend for leather are:
Derby (Guerlain)
Patou Pour Homme (Jean Patou)
Bel Ami (Hermes)
Equipage (Hermes)
(they can actually be VERY strong smelling. and smells like Cuir de Russie but with a very, very sharp and intense edge.)
Modern Leather (softened) probably in line with Tuscan Leather:
Habit Rouge EDP
Zen for Men (Shishedo)
Bulgari Black
Im not a fan of skanky, fecal, animalic vibe scent... And I have little exposure to leather note due to the above reason

I don't know much about leather scents as it's not yet my favorite note but I like the scent of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather the best out of all decants. Helmut Lang Cuiron and Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque are quite nice too.
SL not bad.. The civet is hanging there but not strong.. Based on wat I sniff so far, tuscan leather is absolutely stunning, masculine, smoky yet avoid birch tar, civet or other animalic scent... Raspberry is perfectly done in this blend, u can smell the sweetness but it is not sweet...
Cuir de russie the fecal drydown.....
