Speaking of luxury, I would like to quite Jean Paul Guerlain:

QUOTE
Luxury is something pretty and discreet. 70-year-old Jean-Paul Guerlain talked in 2007 to Comité Français du Parfum. He tells us here why he was the one to create Guerlain's Vetiver. He also reminds us that "luxury is something pretty and discreet. Luxury must not be something brash."
which I do agree, and which also defines my taste in perfume: classy yet complex, but not in your face.

And probably clothes as well tongue.gif

I'm not brand/class loyal too but with the exception of Tauer's. He changed my perspective. I know it may sound cheesy but I feel that some (not all) were custom made for me biggrin.gif
I can't be sure for my earlier purchases but the Tauer's I have/want are unique and easily recognizable.

I used to feel the same way about Guerlain too until I smelled Guerlain Homme.....and samsara. But if they were made by a different house/brand, i'd still love them.

i do actually, always have my cool water, my Fahrenheit, my armani code, never had the chance to truely deplete any bottle before i buy a new one, maybe i'm less hardcore than most ppl here but hey i still think i spend way too much on ephemeral things compared to normal ppl.
*
You're talking to someone who has 30 bottles of perfume and counting tongue.gif

coz i have that many moods

that's why i mention i'm less hardcore sifu. for me, i just like to smell good, i like smell of fresh unwrapped books, morning dew on flowers,  i always sniff a girl when they give me a hug, and if they catches me they will teased me as being a pervert, my close buddies is already aware of this habit of mine and let me take a full seep when i give them bro-hug. ahahah creepy but in reality i just wished more ppl around me appreciate these kind of thing that provide instant and simple pleasure to one of your highly disregarded senses.

perfumes is an accessory to me, its an extension of something that represents me and therefore, it must. hehe

Anyone interested in getting a full bottle of MFK 75ml perfume? MFK Isetan KLCC will be having a sales for any 2 bottles of MFK (except Oud) for RM799. That is like RM400 for a bottle. On top of that you will be receiving RM10 cash voucher for every RM100 spent. In total you are paying RM360 for a full bottle. I am only interested in Pour le Soir to complete my MFK collection. Anyone would like to share the minimum quota of 2 bottles please do let me know. You will be getting the cash voucher as well.

Sales commence on next Friday till Sunday only.

the sad part is its his oud that I am most interested in (and not so much anymore after sampling real oud). Not too interested in his other stuffs....

Met up with Anige last fri and she passed me a sample of Secretions Manifiques!

You wanna know what it smells like? Imagine this:

You see a stain on the bathroom wall. You go and sniff. And it's last week's 'ammo' that you missed out from cleaning.

That is what SM smells like. It opens with a disgusting lavender and lemon blend which gives it the cold, metallic fishy accord. It then goes down to a bit of vetiver with blackcurrant which only makes things a little worse. Finally, iris and musk appear to make it really sensual.

It makes me wanna puke when i smell it but its not exactly that stinky. I dont find it stinky like poo or rubbish but there's just something in there that makes my stomach turn...

what another perfumista thought about this:

the pavilion Hermes boutique does carry Bel Ami. But its the current reformulation for sure, it comes in the standard hermes bottle (same shape as CdOV and their Lex Eaux series)

+1

Very professional review from an experience nose indeed. I so wanted to join the little "fumehead" gathering but it would take me 2 days to swim across South China Sea biggrin.gif

I can't take anything dirty. I think I may actually puke smelling SM but as a true blue perfumista, one must sniff everything so bring it on to me biggrin.gif

LOL, just look at Katie's reaction. She screams, "Oh no ~".
*
We can have another fumehead gathering when you're here in KL smile.gif everyone else is welcomed to join smile.gif

Thanks for the info.. Coz i did not see it in parkson pavilion hermes counter... Where is the hermes boutique, sorry im quite blur...

Not willing to spend on Puredistance M...
*
The hermes boutique is at the side where all the luxury stores are, its located right at the end and occupies 2 floors. If you see TWG just keep going to the other end until you see prada, bulgari etc. Then you will see Hermes.

The full range of their normal line is on the left side of the entrance of the 1st floor. The Hermesscenes are on the front of the shop with glass casing.

The boutique layout seems pretty standard. It's the same as the one I went into overseas. I thought they only carried leather goods until I walked inside.

It's a very woody/sweet scent, and very close to Gucci Pour Homme 1. Very incensy. Not my type of scent tho.

I tried The One (tabocco) and The One Gentleman (patchouli). On my skin they had below average projection and moderate longevity on my skin. It's commonly available at major department stores. Why not go and try if it works on your skin?

Be a man and try Givenchy Gentleman tongue.gif

Scent of the Week
It's Dior this week for me starting from Dior Homme today. Dior is currently my favorite designer house. The ones I have are unique and of niche quality in my book. Fahrenheit Absolute is said to be discontinued. What a bummer!
