SOTD: PMC

PMC has more similarities to Drakkar Noir than CPM during the drydown. too much oakmoss and vanilla.

no wonder its priced a lot more cheaper compared to the other Chanels.

outside of isetan KLCC u got the chanel boutique which carry les exclusifs and opposite chanel u got dior privee collection smile.gif

basically we can find most of the more established niche brands there...

Joey, well i love PMC > PM, and it should not be launched as flanker of PM...
*
NOPE. no dior privee collection anywhere there. i went there many times and there is no Oud Isaphan in sight.

Bleu de Chanel is more of a flanker to PMC.

yup. got memoir. i always think that if batman wore perfume it would definitely be this. heheh. its my night scent.
as for mfk, i got the aqua universalis forte. mfk line of fragrance really are starting to build up on me. love aqua universalis but i got aqua vitae as its substitute for my morning/home cologne.

as for dior privee collection, its a shame i didn't get that chance to try em.  isetan once, they carry l'artisan & the different company & now they're gone.. too bad. would love to grab a few of Jean Claude Ellenas scent. Really hope that isetan klcc brings more niche market perfume houses in. i heard from the SA, tourists buys a lot of the perfume at the niche sections. more than locals. i think that what drives their sales & maybe, just maybe they will bring more in. hehhe.

for the last time, Dior's Collection Privee is NOT available in malaysia.

If anyone sees ANY of these BOTTLES on sale in ANY counter in MALAYSIA, please take a picture and post it here, along with the address.

unless you do that, stop insisting that they are available in malaysia.

SOTD: Eau Savauge Parfum

Myrrh all the way! With vetiver to clean it up a little. The bergamot is barely there but you can smell its influence on the myrrh.

there are reports that ESP turns rancid if stored in the fridge or wine cooler, so do exercise caution.

Today's SOTD: Mitsouko Eau de Parfum

And yes I'm a guy. And yes i'm wearing mitsy. and yes i smell like old lady today.

Not really. It's a classic chypre. Luca Turin calls it THE reference chypre. It actually smells a lot like a new eraser block due to the rose and jasmine heart, coupled with labadum and nuances of peach. Still interesting and has a niche like aura to it.

Thanks. Perry Ellis red is on my list because of the cheap price I found at frgarancex. rm90+ FOR 100ML. But then I never bought anything online from US, scared the shipping cost is too high.

interested to try Dior Eau Savage. How does it smell ya bro? I like something totally fresh, citrus + lemon + sporty. Tried cool water and bvlgari aqva, don't like maybe because it got woody note, or smell a little bit green.

SOTD: Guerlain Homme L'eau Boisee (2012 limited edition)

MOJITOOO!!! RUMM!! LIME!!! so delicious and refreshing. But with a slight vetiver twist that gives it a woody yet refreshing twist.

Really wonderful for our weather. And for a weekend.

You probably wouldn't like Eau Sauvage. It's spicy citrus. You may like Dior Homme Sport (2012), which I may be letting go.
*
there's a slight herby twist to Eau Savauge but it is very refreshing. If you want something similiar, CdOV would fit the bill but without the spicy edge.

Hey, now that you mention, do you know where is the cheapest place to get Chanel Fragrance? Online website/ LYN Seller/ Retail/wherever shop also can...
*
bestbuyworld, fragrancex (both are websites)

check out justparfum. you may get lucky athough i doubt they will lower the price.

check the perfume for guys threads at the stuff for the lads corner. You may just get lucky.

it's damm hard to get cheap chanels.

oh and one word about this perfume hobby: learn not to skimp. The more you pay the better the perfume you get. If you aim for only the cheap stuff you wont be able to experience the better stuffs. You can also buy decants from our esteemed sellers as well to experience more diffferent perfumes.

Legend (100ml) is RM160 and Le Male (125ml) is RM190 on fragrancex.com. Le Male is famous for its nuclear projection. I wouldn't recommend you use it for office setting but if you love it so much I guess you could do one spray undershirt. I had a bottle before but sold it. I never dared to wear it to office.

Yes as a new comer, I also find that those two are the hardest brand to find whether online or at regular perfume store. Chanel is harder to find btw. May I know roughly how much does the Chanel allure line cost? Sport, edition blanche and blue de chanel.

To an untrained nose like mine, will this Mont Blanc legend smells different compared to platinum Egoiste? Quite interesting because I heard you mentioned about this few times already. Used perfume also quite hard to find bro. Always check at stuff for lads.
*
A perfume is always based on a concept and the same concept may be used by a different house which results in their own interpretations of how the scent should smell like but in general they smell pretty much the same. Mont Blanc Legend and Platinum Egoiste as well as Paco XS all smell the same/similar as they are based on the same aromatic fogure concept. A*men/l'instant de guerlain is both based on chocolate on skin, one takes the sweet direction while the other goes classy but still sweet. Gardenia by Chanel/Penhaligons/Gardenia Petale (van cleef & arpels) smell very similiar but there are very subtle differences that only a trained nose can tell. Most houses will not say it outright, but very rarely some will. For example, Concentre d Orange Verte by Hermes is a homage to Eau Savauge (as said by its creator, Jean Claude Elena whose mentor, Edmond Roundistika created Eau Savauge) which is why they smell very similiar to each other with only very little differences.

Chanel line is around 280-300. For the older classics such as Egoiste and Anateus it will be cheaper.

justparfum is a physical store. They have a branch in 1U and Pavilion and possibly other outlets.

Chanel and Dior controls their distribution very tightly so that they can sell their perfumes at the highest price. this is their marketing tactic. But at the same time, their scents smell more refined and complex compared to other designers. You get what you pay.

Guys, I am looking for replacement for my Chrome Cologne by Loris Azzaro.

The reason why I liked Chrome because it smells so fresh, like after taking a bath.

Any other alternative ?

You can try Dior Homme Sport. ton3 is selling his.

Haha, yes Interlude is strong (but it's controllable) and pleasant smelling but Le Male is not. Not for my taste. Sorry to those who love this. That's why it is now in the hands of rightful owner. In fact, I never dared to wear it outside my house. That's why I'm mindful if I wear something like A*men as many people find the tar note offensive. The same thing applies to those scents that have "offensive/unpleasant" animalic dirty notes to use as office scent. Sorry again to those who love those notes biggrin.gif
I like and own a bottle of Chrome. I like it for what it is. Why look for replacement? For better performance? An upgrade? If it's about upgrade, you could consider my Dior Homme Sport (2012). Mine is a tester.

I wore LIDGE to office.

The hiao secretary commented in a hiao tone "Wei, why your perfume is stronger than mine one? Why? Why wear so strong perfume?"

i just sat at the corner of the car and said "not mine.."
