Hey there, I'm planning to purchase a Q5, as I have a bunch of 4TB 2.5" USB external disks (GPT). I know Q10 supports GPT disk for the internal mount, but I have found no mention about externals.

My blu-ray player can't read these GPT external disk unless I reinitialize to MBR (and lose 1.8 TB), so I need to be sure that Q5/Q10 will read them before purchasing.

Thanks!

by "external", do u mean plug into USB port?

sure it will work, it works with all boxes... but a matter of capacity limit for the specific box.

Q5pro is not easily available anymore, not as popular; Q10pro probably still available.

scanty details but i read there is a Q100 coming.... waiting for info from nicety...

Thanks! Yep, using USB port. I have 2 x 4TB and 1 x 2 TB USB external 2.5", so not gonna use the internal 3.5" hence me thinking of saving a few bucks with Q5.

I thought the thread owner is selling both Q5 and Q10. Oh boy.

But, Q100? Cool. When will it be out?

if 2.5" portable hdd, u can just connect to usb port.

q5pro, q10pro does an excellent job for local playback from hdd with native player app, incl the highest grade video and audio files.

i think nicety does not carry Q5pro anymore... better he respond to you.

not much news about new model... we wait...

it's fine to install direct from playstore; had done it twice, OK.

if the log in does not respond, exit and reenter the app.

there is a message at bottom of the log in page - "don't have id, click here".

if u do not get this message, can't log in. wait a bit to see if it appears.

if u see this message, u can log in.
if u still can't log in, check yr browser - are u using chrome or puffin or?

AVFAN, thanks for your comment.
I was too hasty to key in my info and login to both Astro Go and HBO Go Asia app.
After reading your comment to wait for "don't have id, click here", I am able to login.

Below image is a sample of screen does not load completely

And I tried it in Minix U1, it load instantly rather than need to wait for the don't have ID message.

Sorry bro, we have stop Q5 Pro as many customers complain 8GB of internal flash is not enough to install number of apps.

The GPT or MBR partition refer to direct SATA interface, the external HDD is not applicable here as well as you external HDD using NTFS file system. Basically you no longer need your Blu-ray player once you have the Himedia player.

Thanks for the reply bro. No way I'm getting rid of the blu-ray player, that's my main source lol. I still prefer blu-ray discs. biggrin.gif

If you prefer Blu-ray Disc then Android box should not be your choice, there is no way to play blu-Ray disc in Q5 or Q10. And there is no question about the HDD partition as you mentioned in your previous thread.

Hi guys

Any air mouse to recommend with the Q10?
Preferably rechargeable Air mouse
No need rear keyboard and mic cos never used.

My Mele F10 deluxe pointer is off already, I need to put the remote near to the USB receiver to get it to move smoothly. And it's fully charged, dunno why this is happening.

Thanks in advance.

astrogo users:

current astro go version is v2.192.5/AC/9.2.5/2313a43 dated 8 Aug 2019.

Q10pro, u can get update direct from box playstore.

or get here:
https://apkpure.com/astro-go-watch-tv-shows...com.astro.astro

this one has a bug fixed - video and audio are now sync-ed correctly for live HD channels.

and i seem to see an improved video... improved colors and clarity... perhaps bit rate been raised...

MyTV is going live tomorrow. TV requires a DVB-T2 decoder according to myfreeview.tv unless the set is an IDTV. Would the Q10 be able to receive it as well ?

q10pro doesn't have that feature.

but most new smart TVs wud have, need an antenna, though.

alternative is to use apps that use these transmission sources.

DVB-T2 decoder and smart tv box are two different technology. You might confused between the two. You can buy DVB-T2 decoder which cost you less than RM100.

Hi. Are there any anticipated problems if we connect q10 pro to Sony TV with HDCP2.3?

Hi bro, can pm me the price? is there any apps pre-loaded with streaming capability or VOD? by the way, currently I'm still using full hd tv, will there be any problem if play 4k blu-ray file with this q10 pro, example like black screen etc... or it will still play through the 4k file but only output 1080P quality? thank you.
