Unboxed but yet to power on. Met my expectation so far. It's really light. Pictures. Brushed aluminum. Back portion. Side view. Power adaptor block kinda ugly. Palm rest is brushed aluminum. Keyboard area and side are all plastic. Ubuntu; soon be gone. This post has been edited by pastacarbonara: May 17 2013, 10:16 PM

Hey 5460 owners. Congrats on getting yourselves a extremely value for money unit! I'd like to ask what you guys think about the trackpad. I tried it in lowyat yesterday. Doesn't seem to be very accurate and sensitive. Adjustable? Thanks.

Just a tip for users who are using the i5 base and planning to downgrade to W7P 32-bit, Dell does not provide driver for the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. The driver provided by Dell on the support site is for Realtek and it won't install on W7P. It should be Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. You can download the driver directly from Intel here.Been scratching my head after installing W7P and all Dell provided drivers but driver for 'Network Controller' is still missing. HTH.

For those who wish to install or using Linux like Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Chakra and etc... there is some issue with the sound drivers. I have installed Windows 7 to test it out and my machine speaker does work thus ruling out the famous Dell defective sense pin failure in the jack.. I am reinstalling back my sweet Kubuntu back and wait for the fix to be done... so devour.. this is my feedback for the speaker... not hardware failure

QUOTE(suadrif @ May 19 2013, 09:08 PM) nice but seems like red is more attractive to me btw, scarxxx the speaker is very good run with win7? yo bro suadrif here is my feedback on the speaker:- Basically I just install the Win7 ultimate (pirate version) without any proper driver from Realtek, it works decently. It work out of the box in Windows 7. To compare, the sound is not as loud as my company lappie which is Lenovo T420s. I don't really listen to music via laptop speaker One more thing I want to mention here, for those who have some doubt with the UEFI, it can be switched to Legacy mode and the Secure Boot can be turned off too. So for those Linux enthusiast, there is no worries installing your favorite distro on it. This post has been edited by scarxxx: May 19 2013, 11:52 PM

QUOTE(pastacarbonara @ May 13 2013, 10:34 PM) I ordered mine about a week ago. Dell just email me today saying that it should arrive latest by 17th which is this Friday. Ordered the Red cover with Ubuntu. Don't really fancy Windows 8 and I have an original W7P on hand. Will probably get a 120GB SSD and 8GB RAM next week and do some self-upgrade. I saw from spec say max RAM is 4GB, if u able to upgrade to 8GB. Please let me know.

QUOTE(hazremi @ May 20 2013, 03:52 PM) yeah i upgrade to 8gb ram..take out the original ram..only 1 memory slot though so your 8G RAM is working properly? I ask because Dell's manual somehow stated the max supported RAM is only 4G, and some prospective buyers are worried that when 4G is not enough, cannot upgrade to 8G RAM stick
