ABN 10Mbps
user posted image
From seri kembangan, installed 2 days ago.

I find that at night the speed fluctuates pretty badly. I did a side by side comparison with my 5Mbps Unifi (which I haven't terminate yet) using Daily Show with Jon Steward full video streaming.

Abn : buffers every 2-5 secs.
Unifi : no buffering, smooth.

Unifi 5Mbps

does that mean the connection will drop every 30m to chg the public IP?

I'm thinking of subscribing their 5mbps package @ RM70.

Already did so ages ago, not long after they launched haven't received any update from them. They included 'Selayang' as one of their original launch areas but until today they haven't covered a single area in Selayang. Would be nice to have some information as to when, if ever, they're planning to expand here.

The Daily Show and Colbert are partly the reason why I want to switch haha. Sometimes the streaming isn't stable on my Unifi. And I can't stream if anyone else in the house is streaming something else as well.

Any idea if there are other subscribers in your area?

Just installed this evening... smile.gif My test results are Wi-Fi based, perhaps could be better if using cable. Btw i'm quite satisfied with the service atm.

Yep, got a few. Its very easy to check who have ABN because they use their own line on the power line pole.
If you see anyone started digging the road near your taman, then you know its them expanding to your area.

ABNxcess

When ABNxcess is coming to Ipoh city areas such as town centre, Pasir Putih/Pinji & Gunung Rapat ?

Got big potential since entire city centre still don't have UniFi coverage except outskirt suburbs like Tasek and Jelapang.

If you price at RM99 with existing cable TV channel offer, many Ipoh people will switch to ABN from Telekom and cancel their ASTRO.

No competition at all and blue ocean way.

Why do you say so? We have lots of hotel coming up in the city without UniFi coverage. Weekends are jammed pack with KL cars.

So much that it's more worthwhile expanding to UniFi already available areas?

Ipoh case is little funny.

It has a population size bigger than Penang.

Even more weird thing is that the area where the most successful Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Malaysia operates in the middle of the city centre has no UniFi coverage until today except for the Kedai Telekom nearby?

This is the heart of the city where most business and shops are located. Plenty of people already living with slow Streamyx 1-2mbps Streamyx due to very old colonial times copper lying around until today. Always service disrupted because the ducts and underground manholes kena banjir air.

Areas where the most lively such as Greentown(Ipoh Parade) and Jln. Pasir Putih(Station 18) all have yet to see any works going on for UniFi expanding.

Where is the support from 1Malaysia government?

RM69.99 5mbps internet? I want it immediately!

Better than my slow crawling 2mbps Streamyx anytime at RM130 after tax and mobile line calls already RM150++

Even better got RM99.99 internet better.
