Im using BHP Ron97. Full tank can reach about 600km then the petrol light will show up. How bout yours?

changing transmission or engine oil won't directly impact performance one...  doh.gif
mineral oil solving dsg issue?
to be skeptical, needs at least 3 months to 1 year to see if any issue reoccur
*
Yes it didn't. What I mean is no diff in term of the smoothness of the transmission operation

Hi, to those who are driving the MK7. Do you guys notice any light rattling sound from the driver side dashboard when going through uneven roads?
*
Yes it does. To me it's not a big deal coz the car is so quiet that my ear suddenly can hear so many things.

Plus compared to my previous car... Twin clutch, not dual clutch... 5 speed manual, not 7 speed "automated" manual... Lots and losts of noises... You know what I mean..

just wanna ask,
for VW , is twincharge engine better than turbocharge engine?

The reason is the twincharge is a combination of an exhaust-driven turbocharger and an engine-driven supercharger, each mitigating the weaknesses of the other.

am i correct?

My working place and my home is quiet near, around 10km of distance only, hence my fuel consumption wont be good, I estimate 450km per tank. Was thinking switch to RON95 to save money..still thinking...

afaik polo gti is quite an amazing car
abide dsg (DQ200) mechatronic issue (might be solve by mineral transmission oil)
earlier 2011 version might have piston/block defect

my friend's polo gti been running on sepang track quite often, so far no dsg issue

Thanks for the response, now ayam considering this 2 option..

1. http://www.mudah.my/Volkswagen+Polo+GTi+MA...OP-24341498.htm (polo GTI 2nd Hand)

or

2. http://www.mudah.my/Volkswagen+Eos+2+0+A+T...LE-25094856.htm (VW EOS 2.0 2nd hand)

Good part about the Polo GTI still has the Volks warranty until 2016 but the EOS no more I believe.. (not confirm yet, have not seen the car).

Please advise..

^EOS is no longer in production, you might want to add in the availability of parts into your consideration.

from what i read on the internet ron95 burn faster den ron97...which mean ron97 will have better fuel consumption but it will not give u better power. the price ron95 and 97 big diff also, but at the end also ur choice to choose what kind of fuel to fill la. xD

btw i want to ask sifu here, can i make my car everytime when i lock my car the side mirror will close? and when i unlock it will open as well? how much will it cost?

Which model is your VW? For Golf you can enable it in the Touch Screen under Car Setup. Just tick the option Auto mirror folding.

I would say depends on the driver driving preference.

Twin-charge has a "super-charger" for the low-rpm boost. It gives low-end (and maybe middle) torque for normal daily drive when taking off from traffic lights, or get out from junction or over taking cars at highway.
The disadvantage is as everyone knows, it takes up some (very slightly) engine power.
This is good for daily drive, fuel economy, good pickup.

Turbo as we all know, works at higher RPM. Always maintain higher RPM, drink more fuel. As we know today, semua naik, we may not want to pedal to metal 7k RPM from each traffic light.
But the feel of turbo kick in ...

So, for normal daily drive in mixed traffic, I would say twincharge is better. I rarely hit >3.5k RPM in my normal drive inside city centre, stuck in jam, etc. i.e. very seldom the turbo kick in (paid but not utilised doh.gif ).

Check the service record, make sure each service is done according to time and mileage (buffer is 1500km) then i guess you are safe to entitled for the 3 yrs extended warranty from Allianz. I'm also a pgti owner clocking 15k mileage soon, so far so good for the car.

agree wit you.

i copy some info from the catalogue. most of them come with Turbocharge.

Polo 1.2- Turbocharged
golf MK7-Turbocharged
golf GTI- Turbocharged
Jetta- Twincharged
CC- Turbocharged
passat-Turbocharged
Scirocco1.4- Twincharged
Scirocco 2.0-Turbocharged
Tiguan-Turbocharged

i'm wondering why only Jetta and scirocco 1.4 come with Twincharged? thank you

According to VW they said that the engine is costly to produce but if you ask me, it is not as reliable as Turbocharged only engines.

I can't recall, but Polo GTI also twincharged ?
Reason is during that time period ~2008-2011???, the era was this 1.4L twin-charge engine of the year bla bla bla...
Only certain model/range of cars product during that time that utilise this 1.4L has it, i.e. Polo GTI 1.4L, Jetta 1.4L, Golf MK6 TSI 1.4L , Scirocco 1.4L, ...

Generally, true. Twincharge is supercharger + turbocharger. Which means more parts in it.
More stuff/parts:
- generally means more failure point.
- more parts to stock in warehouse/logictics = cost

However, I may not agree with engine reliability. I think the engine is quite reliable, taking into consideration so many stuff/parts/technology/etc. in it.

The only thing not reliable is the DSG7 Dry (DQ200) gearbox doh.gif
