Hi ,

Just want to this again , after being replaced with new mechatronics , has anyone facing issues?
Actually, my TSI 1.4 golf is about 2.5 yrs old, and no issues with the so called power loss or whatever.
Afraid after replace the new mecha ,it turns out worse.

need some advise and input

if you're refering to the DSG mecha recall, i have replace mine already
didn't have issue, now still ok

Yes , that's what i 'm referring .

May i know which service center did you go ? and how long was the replacement ?
I was told by SA to put the car for overnight for their replacement and full inspection.

You are considered lucky if your whole replacement only took 1 day

technically the full mechatronic replacement process takes about 4 plus hours,
but i reckon they need to do diagnostics & testing after installing it

My mecha replacement (free recall), appointment fixed and send car in at 9am.
I can see by 11am+, replacement done and car is out for testing.
Collect car at 2pm+

They test/"taruh" my car 9 9 , and have the cheek to reset my mileage (which I note down).
Fuel goes down from 3/4 to 1/2 (at least RM20 of RON95 @rm2.10) , and they chalk up about 60km.

But they give me back petrol vouchers.

Thanks for the note , very helpful , will check the mileage.
Actually , don't mind to spend little on money as long as the issue is solved.

Been scary after reading all the posts in FB . Furthermore , now no issues, who knows all issues pop up after replacement .

Been looking towards getting VW , now with the same budget I have a hard time choosing between:

1) Golf MK7 - new

2) Golf GTI MK6 - used

wanted the torque of MK6 GTI but used car's condition is unknown despite all being "TIP TOP CONDITION"

MK 7 interior is definitely more appealing than the previous generation

DSG 7 speed dry clutch gearbox vs 6 speed wet clutch gearbox..

new car HP interest rate vs used car interest rate (differ by 1% and that cost around 1.5k per annum)

SA in VW offer me rebate rm4k only for MK7 1.4 Golf..

analysed pro and cons but still having a headache...

VW owners - advice?
*
So you got urself the mk7 tsi or mk6 gti?

Hi all,

Any comment on Polo GTI?

Got nice offer on Polo GTI 5 door version but year made 2012 (new car old stock).. slashed more than 20k..

Good point the warranty will follow date of purchase, but sad part is the car was sitting for over 2 years

Hoping to hear from the genuine VW owner.. (admitted kindda freak out seeing the rants in VW malaysia FB)..

However, it does not turn off appetite for VW, as my current ride is Potong.. (worst After Sales.. but not difficult to DIY)
