Interesting. I don't have that thing on my passenger side. Seem like a place to open the hood. That means you have both side? driver and passenger side?
*
Yeah both sides. I bought the car when it was launched. I think newer ones doesn't hv it - coz I went to the showroom again to check on it and its not there.

the 6speeder wet dsg is less problematic than the new 7speeder dry dsg?
*
Yes, a lot less problematic. It is more reliable and it can take up more torque and power. Hence that is why you see all the high powered VW's using this gearbox such as the Golf GTI, Golf GTD, Jetta GLI, Scirocco 2.0, Golf R, Scirocco R and the CC 2.0 and the older Passat CC R.

Hi guys, recently I'm interested in getting the new MK7.

I've been offered a pre-reg unit driven for about 500km @ about RM13k off, making it RM145k. A brand new one with the current promo would probably be RM150k. Is it worth getting it?

I would go for a new car instead since its only 5k diff. Usually ppl who test drive the car (including myself) would usually 'trash' the car. tongue.gif

You mean over 9 year loan? Well, so you're suggesting it isn't much and I should opt for the new one right? hmm.gif

That's my main concern too.. Salesman did some calculation for me and the difference is about RM6k difference including some other fees. Been pondering on it for a few days. cry.gif

i will take a new car....

5k loan extra....
interest is 1.3k over 9 years assuming the interest rate is 2.9%

that is like RM 12 per month just for interest over 108 months (9 years)...

so u are adding on like RM 12-RM 15 a month extra repayment if u take a new car which cost RM 5k more, or u can just pay the RM 5k cash to top-up to new car....

hey, may i know when is the mileage go for 1st service? i was told by the sa 8k should call for service d. while others say 15k should b find and some others say first 2 service should not more than 30k mileage? sorry for noob question
*
12 months or 15k km, whichever comes first, during the 5 years warranty period.

It all depends how much you drive. In my case, I don't reach 15k in a year, so I opt for 7.5k service each time.

If I hit 15k in less that a year regularly, I will service at 15k.

BTW, for those who send in for the free mechatronic replacement, do you guys get free petrol vouchers ? hmm.gif

Interesting link. I'm not sure if they changed the DSG oil in my car, but when I was there, I saw my car is lifted high up and mechanics working under the engine/gearbox to dismantle something. Probably to drain out the oil. hmm.gif Or the mecha box is accessed from under it ?

Reason why is, the gearbox feels totally different than before. Similiar like how you can feel the smoothness of the engine after change engine oil kind of feeling.

the engine oil release is down there near the gearbox...

the gearbox totally feel different then before?
maybe they updated the software....
wink.gif

if u have a clutch change or a mecha change, u need to re-do your alignment...
if your alignment is not out, most likely is that they updated the software of the gearbox...

It is almost year end anyway, why not wait a little bit since usually they will give some discounts anyway to clear stocks. Go for a new unit. You'll love your mk7. I know I do smile.gif
