I listen mainly to Spotify, extreme quality and with a wide range of songs ( classic rock, new age, R&B, chillstep, orchestra).

Would like to hear your opinions on the following IEM's my budget is 200-300. Thinking of GR07/GR06 or IM50. Thoughts on their suitability? Or any other options in this price range.

SE215 I personally feel it's not too good, back then maybe but not nowadays. And to be honest, the difference from amp is audible, but from mid range and high range amp is subtle, I couldn't call difference. But a good note to yourself, always try to feed good source from a good DAC and also drive the IEM/Headphone well.

My recommendation for 200-400 based on your preference,
Ostry KC06A - 2xx, slightly u shaped sound can cater your needed on emphasis for instrumental
VSonic GR07 - 3xx, all rounder, with slightly sszzz on treble side.
RHA MA750i - 4xx, u shaped, pretty good bass and nicely controlled highs.

Can't go wrong with any of these  laugh.gif

If you want to compare SE215 with KC06A, I would say you'll find SE215 sounds dull, not energetic. SE215 sounds pretty balanced.. the bass is emphasized a little but the bass is flat.. and treble is too controlled, rolled off too fast.

JVC FXT90 is not a bad choice at all biggrin.gif
But Yamaha eph100 has durability issue, most of them worn out fast.

Didn't hear anything about durability except for the fading Yamaha logo. That's all.

Joker recommended me the EPH-100 as its warm signature compared to V signature of the FXT90.

I'm actually just a student so I don't have much cash but recently after some odd jobs here and there I have around RM100-150+- extra and I'm looking to at least get a decent pair of headphones for that price range.. I kinda want something that does not leak a lot of sound because sometimes I listen to songs in the library
What I'm looking for is : Over ear / around the ear / full size / circumaural and I think the term is closed back ( less noise leak?) Do listen to a lot of genres but these days mostly bass heavy like drum and bass , glitch hop and dubstep ahaha would be nice if you could also give the location of the shops that carry said headphone biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

(tl;dr)version
Your rig (Phone and laptop // Jack = standard 3.5)
- What type of usage : music
- File format used in your source (mp3)
- Genre of music you listen to ( drum and bass , glitch hop and dubstep )
- Headphone/ earphone type (closed/ Full size around the ear)
Budget 100-150

I'm pretty damn new myself. But one thing I do know is that I dislike high treble, the high notes that will pierce your eye tongue.gif

And I like emphasis on mid range and slightly on bass so that it sounds more lively biggrin.gif That's why I went with the warm signature, I purchased the Yamaha EPH-100 which is in shipment to my place already. Can't wait!!

Here's a good guide: http://theheadphonelist.com/earphone-buyers-guide/

You can take a look at the vast reviews he makes for so many IEMs: http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-...-08-21-14-p-958

Feel free to ask him as he's quite helpful smile.gif

Thanks for the link!

Same as you i'm more into warm tones myself (most probably due to the rock genre), and i am a drummer and bassist myself so I appreciate/listen to the tones of instrument more.

But due to the limited budget i guess i'll just go for what the sifu's recommend sweat.gif

It's 110 Australian dollars from an Australian website. I'm not sure if they ship to Malaysia or not. PM me if you're interested.

In Malaysia should be more expensive. RM400+ if not mistaken.

For the price, I would say Superlux. But for the music genre that you listen to, probably hd681 evo is more suitable. More bassy and warmer, but it's not close back.
For close back, can try Superlux HD669, slightly over your budget can consider HD631 DJ

Not sure if I got it right. If you like emphasis on mid range, warm sound, less treble, slightly on bass, you can also try out IEM with typical England sound like HiFiMan RE400 or RHA MA750i if got chance. They are smooth, fuller mids, and musical. smile.gif
I personally haven't auditioned EPH100 though.

Understand where you are coming from. But I guess what you need, is not only a bassy warm tone IEM, you need also an IEM with good quality of bass that clearly present the details of the lower mids and bass. can give KC06A a try though.

Guys, need a recommendation for a good pair of headphones(closed/full sized around the ear) no more than rm100, main usage is for watching movies and gaming. Most important for me is the comfort, a little less on the quality actually since I'm no audiophile, but of course goods sound quality is always better. I would also like to know where I can find the recommended set around kl area. Thanks in advance thumbup.gif

I just bought Sony MDR10-BT in the States. It's bluetooth and I choose the codec to by aptX on my macbook.

However, I heard periodic hissing sound when I play this particular piano flac.. I even hear it when I put the cable on.. But, I don't hear the hissing sound when I play couple of others FLAC files.

Any thought?

Corrupted file? Is the hissing sound it's in just the piano FLAC? Have you tried to play it across different source?

I think only Philips have... If you can up a bit can go for Sennheiser HD 202, around 160.
