I see. My local shop doesn't have any demo gaming headset for me to test. Mostly only refer to reviews and recommendations in lowyat forum here.
I am wondering what is the different between normal stereo headset like Edifier K820 (RM69) vs CM Storm Ceres 300 Gaming Headset (RM89)? hmm.gif  besides the gaming headset looks more attractive, detachable mic.  cool.gif

I've only seen gaming headphones for demo at the 4th floor of lowyat. But only brands like Razer and Steelseires too.
I'm not really sure about the difference between the two headphones you mentioned but the sound would obviously be quite different.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Aug 25 2014, 11:21 AM)
not sure, but what i hear from my friend he said gaming headset sounds more FLAT than normal headphone due to gaming headset designed more on "distace" "direction" sounds for game.... so yea... i m not sure.
i use normal speaker only for game haha, even for dota2 there is no need direction for that.
maybe this is wrong info because i never own that and test that for compare music and game experience.
*
Flat would actually mean that the the neither lows, mids or the highs over power each other. And the sound is quite neutral.
Mostly just the studio monitoring headphones have flat response.

I have ordered an edifier hi-fi h850 for music already.

can suggest a entry level/budget friendly stereo headset for gaming? smile.gif

I am also consider to add an asus sound card/dac+amp for headphone if necessary.

p/s: silence environment, so only can enjoy with headset. cool.gif

i cant really give any comment about headphones because i also new in this area. But i tried Logitech G and razer headphones by playing music only, really cannot feel any special about the headphones. Maybe next time i should download a youtube game trailer into my phone and test the headphone. LOL

IMO, the Audio-Technica AD700X do well with gaming. Large soundstage, good coherence. smile.gif
They are very good for music too!

I don't exactly mean those good condenser/dynamic mic. It can be some RM10 microphone from your local computer shop tongue.gif
It might be your ground looping electrical noises, or EMI from nearby object (mobile phones)

Ground looping.. actually i dont quite understand but from what i know, its a electrical connection issue, or can say like "dirty" electricity. Sometimes I have it when my family turned on the air-conditional, then I tried to use any battery-based player to avoid that noise lol.
Even like feet touching the ground could increase the beep noise. doh.gif

need to use some sort of transformer for filter "dirty" electric from going into our rig then isolate the rig from touching directly to any kind of electric connector ? like isolate it with rubber material? lol ...

What are you thoughts regarding Superlux HD381F vs Xiaomi Pistons? Thinking of buying my GF a present, she's complaining about her stock HTC earphones.

HD381F - Mid-centric IEM, pretty good for vocal-based tracks. So-so for rock and so on..
Xiaomi Piston v2 - All-rounder IEM, slightly warm sound. smile.gif

from the experience when I used my friend's Hammerhead, the feel is super heavy bass. If u like it then is ok. Wonder if it is a gaming headphone or not.

pros

-heavy bass
-suitable for watching SciFi Movie and listen to electro music

Cons

-Vocal sound not clear

the steelseries i never use so no comment for it.
