- Your rig (mp3 players, amps, sound card etc)
Samsung S3, S4 - What type of usage (movies/ gaming/ music etc) Music. - File format used in your source (i.e. flac, mp3 etc) MP3 - Genre of music you listen to (classical, jazz, metal, etc) All except classical, opera those type - Headphone/ earphone type (closed, open, circumaural, IEM etc) Prefer Earphone only. - Other requirements (if any) (mic, volume control, 5.1ch, 7.1ch etc) Mic if got then better, but not very important. Same for other function. Budget - RM300-500. How big is the difference in quality between RM300-500 to RM1k++ earphones? And stock Samsung earphone to RM300-500 one? Noticeable by normal user? |

The difference is bigger if you are using a better souce and lossless files instead of mp3. But if you prefer to stick the mp3 through your s3/s4 then it's not really necessary to spend so much on earphones since you'll be limiting the earphones potential. |

QUOTE(tr|n|ty @ Dec 26 2013, 06:58 PM) Definitely not. Especially Samsung stock earphones are one of the worse I've ever heard. Apple stock earphones are much better. You should go to Jaben and test all the earphones there so you will get the idea of how the sound differs in all price range. |

MS1i is very open air, like listening to a loud speaker, K450 is more quieter since is on-ear, and lighter cablems1i cable is quite heavy, i think is a canare cable This post has been edited by noobandroid: Dec 26 2013, 10:35 PM |

QUOTE(tr|n|ty @ Dec 26 2013, 03:12 PM) - Your rig (mp3 players, amps, sound card etc) I was a S2 user when I bought my first "proper" earphones, the Shure SE215, cost me RM388 (it was just released by then) I also auditioned a-jays series and even a-jays one is a HUGE improvement over the stock samsung earphones. the difference is definitely noticeable but just stay within the price range around or under rm800 if you only listen to mp3 files but not lossless files. buying expensive earphones means the earphones will review more details and a loss file such as mp3 will make your music sounds bad. You might want to consider AKG K451 then, it comes with the Apple ControlTalk.I own AKG K450 and auditioned grado series (similar to ms1i) before. AKG K450 has too much bass and often veils the vocals. grado sounds good but then are you sure you can live with a open headphones when you walk around? ms1i also has a long and thick cable which can be troublesome for portable use (i use the m50 and hell, the cable is heavy and i always have to stuck it inside my pocket, thus troublesome when i keep taking phone in and out from my pocket) what's your budget? |

QUOTE(Gamecon @ Dec 25 2013, 09:45 PM) I'm looking for a best for buck headphones ranging from Rm100-200 and Rm200-300. It depends on if the advantage is really needed or not. I'm using it to listen to my music playing, but also for normal music listening. Headphones (closed or open, but closed sounds better) Budget RM200 headphones:Although, Its originally supposed to be used as for studio purposes. I got myself a new bass guitar and practice amp to go with it. So something with a lil more bass sounds good. But i also have an electric guitar with a gigging amp. But the important part is the clarity for the bass. Have already looked at the Audiothechnica ATH M30, Beyerdynamic dt231 pro, the soundlux hd668B. So any recommendations/experiences to share, and places to get it...? I'm around KL area. Thank you.
