i remember reading it would take PLA roughly 3 days or so to defeat TW military and effectively conquer the island.
just call the 2nd artillery to level the whole island. that's if the politburo goes full retard

it's all about keeping the price down. the US approach to F-22 is to start from scratch, by developing from new canvas.new engine, new radar, new computer system, etc.
what the russian did is by using existent technology and refine it. the russian benefitted from their parallel aircraft development, which some of its system predates the airframe itself(TVC-capable engine, IRST, AESA-capable radar, etc). all they have to do is to design an airframe with stealth capability and put existing equipment in it what i foresee in the future is that only 4 country that are capable to produce their own fighter;US of A, russia, japan and china. other country will rely on JV, akin to eurfighter typhoon. South Korea already have strong military ties with Turkiye, while the french are considering joint effort with brazil. india will always be india; a fiasco |

QUOTE(cks2k2 @ May 24 2013, 09:36 AM) why do we even need dokdo/mistral class ship for? not like we have a lot of attack helis to begin with. ganti kd inderapurathen again, when u used kancil b4(suddenly burnt to ashes), and has growing family and you could afford to buy better car, would you still gonna buy another kancil? maybe u could buy viva or myvi(them indon makassar class, or french foundre class) but it's better to upgrade to alza(thus the dokdo) but then again i have no problem at all if malaysia go the viva/myvi route. small car is better than no car at all |

it's cheap (in some place 10 ringgit can get u one and some ammo)
..................... btw http://qz.com/86988/spain-just-spent-680-m...that-cant-swim/ One of Spain’s largest defense splurges may also be one of its most embarrassing. After spending nearly one-third of a $3 billion budget to build four of the world’s most advanced submarines, the project’s engineers have run into a problem: the submarines are so heavy that they would sink to the bottom of the ocean. Miscalculations by engineers at Navantia, the construction company contracted to build the S-80 submarine fleet, have produced submarines that are each as much as 100 tonnes (110 US tonnes) too heavy. The excess weight sounds paltry compared to the 2,000-plus tonnes (2,205 US tonnes) that each submarine weighs, but it’s more than enough to send the submarines straight to the ocean’s floor. |

QUOTE(yinchet @ May 25 2013, 03:41 AM) tbh we don really need dokdo class. i also don't mind the RMN get the smaller LPD (like the makassar class),but we should buy more than a single ship. perhaps 3LDP will be more beneficial for our fleet addition. unless we really does have huge budget for our military then I dun mind having 1. |

QUOTE(noavatar @ May 28 2013, 12:08 PM) when the US wanna retire C-27Js the filipino practially cummed on the spotQUOTE(kerolzarmyfanboy @ May 28 2013, 03:12 PM) i think Phillipine tgh terdesak sgt nk tunjuk power kt Taiwan and China tuh..i prefer submarines rather than aircraft carriers though..this Spain carrier can carry modern naval aircraft like F-18? dun want to be like Thai navy, carrier too small, can only carry V/STOL aircraft..harrier is obsolete nowadays..while F-35 is goddamn expensive.. they can't even get their shyt togethergranted they really need a large amphibious vessel to carry marines and equipments to one of it's isles, but still there's tons of cheaper alternatives out there. |

QUOTE(lcy851031 @ Jun 3 2013, 08:38 PM) Reactive armor plates, When some shell/rocket (especially RPG) hit that "brick", the brick will be triggered to self explosion, use this explosion force to deflect the incoming projectile. After one use, the tank area that covered with the reactive armor plates will no longer be protected by reactive armor (since the brick had exploded) newer model plates are designed to defeat these kind of warhead, and sometimes the plates are being being stacked on top of another Nowadays, some RPG warheads had tandem warheads to pre-trigger the reactive armor to explode early, making it less effective at countering RPG. some tanks are also equipped with slat and plate armor to increase survivability in urban area, such the TUSK upgrade for M1A1/2 |
